Lisa was the sole reason I ever picked up a saxophone and played it through my school years! They always hit hard on a lot of mature and adult themes and generations of people were impacted by episodes of the show
The Simpsons has been my favorite show since they were just a skit on Tracie Ullman. I've made a few comments about things I've learned by watching it, and people would ask, "How did you know that?"The Simpsons" 😅❤
I still love The Simpsons. I've been happily watching them since the Tracey Ullman years. I'm 58 and still tune in weekly. Sundays are still my Animation Domination evenings.
Not only around for that long, but also with a huge cast of mostly stereotypical characters, there's so many different scenarios done in so many different ways that some situations feel relatable to a certain extent and at least one of the diverse variety of cast members can be seen as a caricature of ourselves or someone we know. So, with so many things over the years becoming familiar in a way that so many different people can identify with, it's no surprise that this show has reached epic status!
And, of course, my very first thoughts were "cromulent" and "embiggen." And, to be fair, Hank Azaria has a pretty robust live action CV. The man was in Mad About You as possibly my favorite recurring character, and was also a major character in the movie Heat with Pacino and DeNiro.
I got to disagree where you mentioned about the Simpsons changed animation for more adult audience when Anime has been doing that for years before The Simpsons
Mrs Krabappel's voice actress (Marcia Wallace) was a regular panelist on Match Game in the 70s. That's always really weird hearing her voice coming at the end of the panel.
About seeing the Simpsons-Cast in Live-Action: I find it hilarious to see Harry Shearer in Godzilla (1998) playing a News Reporter with the voice of Kent Brockman.
Technically, doh wasn't a new word created by the Simpsons. It was originally used by James Finlayson in various Laurel and Hardy films back in the 1930s.
The Simpsons proves people are stupid and will watch absolutely any old crap that's on TV, simply because it's on TV. It's been crap longer than it was good and people won't turn it off and they feel scared to admit it isn't good at all, and hasn't been in decades.

"My eyes; the goggles do nothin!" 🤣🤣🤣
Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer were also in Godzilla (1998).

A perfectly cromulent story about a show that embiggens all of us ❤

That’s a perfectly cromulent top 10
Also love how doh was a mistake dan made, and they just rolled with it. The rest is history
That "Homer At The Bat" fact is absolutely incredible. I love hearing happy outcomes like that!
Well, the show’s been around for 30-ish years, so of course it’s gonna have an impact on the world
I mean, sure, but other shows they have been around a long time don't have nearly the same cultural impact

I be noticed that most of the examples shown were from early seasons. That tells me the best was from the early years.

Funny thing, the 60's area Flintstones was consider adult because it was in prime time
The Flintstones was a rip-off of the Honeymooners just set in stone age times
Love this series! Longtime fan🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

That “excellent” was spot on.
I've seen the "Am I so out of touch? No it's the children who are wrong." meme around quite a few times.
I was immediately going to say that excellent was a word before Mr Burns said it 🤣
Mr Burns ' gave the word a new meaning.

Oh yes let's shout out all those OBSCURE streamed hams😊
I saw a bloke the other day with a green jumper on that had Homer disappearing into the hedge, thought it was brilliant
Why didn't you said that the Simpsons changed the world by predicting the future????!!
Greatest show of all time..Name it, they've done it.
Now Charlie Brown-Bart Simoson figure is gonna give me nightmares. 😫😫😫
Ms Marvel is also often credited with bringing Embiggen to the dictionary. The comic version would yell that out when stretching to a larger size
that's not very cromulent
Great to hear your narration again Psy.❤
Still to this day the only animated series done by both Helen Hunt and Meryl Streep
Emma Thompson as well ❤
and Elon Musk
Still Better Than Spongebob Squarepants Why does It take a couple years to finish a season

Embiggen may have come from The Simpsons but it didn't end up in the dictionary until it was used by Ms Marvel circa early 2010s.
