I think it was good for our team to grind out a win like this. Great learning experience that will benefit us throughout the season!
Last years team would have won this like 27-24. Its good to see us pull away late!

From a standpoint of someone who's seen a lot of Stanford games, thanks for the sober and fair recap. Clemson is a good team, I'd say about par with USC and ND, upper end of P4, but just a notch below elite. Stanford has to build their team to be .400 with Notre Dame, since they play them every year since ce the 80's. Unfortunately that has been extremely difficult since the advent of the portal, a lot of talent walks out ( see 1/2 the starting O- line went to play for Harbaugh last year), and not a lot gets in(especially starting level graduate transfers). So Clemson faced an extremely weak O line and rushing attack compared to last decade. Daniels is a good instinctive rusher, but that about where his skillset limits. Unfortuantely, with his injury, so goes any chance of bowl elligibility.
Stanford's defensive backfield is also well below par compared to years past. It's a bit sad, and one wonders if they'll ever be competitive with ND again, under Taylor....Shaw was way more conservative, and liked to run between the tackles with a pro style offense which was more fun to watch. Daniels is an interception machine against any competent pass secondary, which was most PAC teams. Good luck, hope Clemson wins out for the good of the ACC.
The game could have gone a lot different if Stanford could have made those early conversions. They're young and get emboldened if there's a little success. If the offense sputters the defense gives up a bit prematurely.
