We stuff a hpi 3 speed nitro big block into a vanquish phoenix straight axle kit in the hopes we make the fastest crawler for this round of madness.
After redesigning the 4 links into a trailing arm setup. laser cutting chassis rails to extend the chassis, and Disqualifying myself in the process, we got it going fast.
We leaned out the needles and pushed the motor to the absolute catastrophe. We pulled some serious rpm to achieve the speeds our so-called accurate GPS was spitting out.

As a nitro guy, I loved this. Doing nitro today is sadly overlooked for so many obvious reasons, but still makes one heck of a show. Well done both of you guys no matter how much or little happened. The trucks look amazing and that nitro sounds great when it is running lol. Have fun and looking forward to watching everyone’s vids and the upcoming comps. For now I have another Comp idea for you guys. Get gasoline model radial engines and use them to power any crawler based vehicles any way wanted and try and do a speed comp with that.

With my 20yrs running nitro the sec you said that @30:50 a burst of laugher with sarcastic under tone came out….. A base tune 🤭
It is very fruatrating but when ya get it right! The satisfaction and sense of achievement is substantially bigger running Nitro vehicles.
and sir. this is why i love 2 stroke gas. my zehnoah will run on a base tune at most elevations, temps and humidity. lol.
@@kpopRC Not enough get up and go without some Nitro, 20% for Stock compression ratio but just bump up the compression & then you can spike the fuel with 30% Nitro, monitor the temps close in summer heat.
and wait again you have a BUKU exhaust i still have mine from yrs ago and have all the pieces on my newly kitted built revo 3.3. I sold my 3.3 revo and pieced together my new revo 3.3 with all the extra parts i horded and the Buku exhaust on point sir

I have fixed and tuned old nitro engines that have sat for years and some are bad some are good but all of them ran when I was done but good job on the motor

Awesome build man ,nitro is a patient man's hobby .Also you can buy nitro big blocks cheap since a lot of ppl prefer going electric ,I'm an old tmaxx big block builder and love anything and everything nitro ,once you get the hang of it it's not as bad as what everyone makes it out To be ,and as I'm watching I hear you say you changed the carb .See easy fix ! Lol! Good luck ! And next challenge you get in too make it one with no rules ! I think you would come out on top !

2 mach .26 nitro engines ,easy too tune ,well easier to tune than most other nitro engines and not too expensive ,can find on ebay pretty cheap.look at eBay with sold twin nitro engines ,can find good combo ideas there.

I thought the project definitely had a cool factor, just going through the engineering and design of the build was great. Making something do something else that it wasn't designed todo, yeah, you feel good about it! I've been there (machine operations and manufacturing background) considering you had issues hitting 3rd gear, it still managed to reached 71mph even if for a short time, it's an accomplishment 👏 😉 👍 kudos to you brother!
ha! thanks so much for the kind words! yeah it did hit 3rd. right when it leaned out. it's the only way the math can prove it was possible. it hit 3rd like 3 times. the last time was when it counted. but. we'll get it going again. and do some proper runs. i ran out of time.
