Great lesson. Really like how you give a variety of examples, drills and checkpoints. One thing I caught myself doing during the hinge & rotate drill was my chest & shoulders opening up way too quickly. Was getting the hinge right (hands about belt high and club head shoulder high) but the shaft was nowhere near in line with my trail forearm. Trail arm was already at 90 degrees…basically could see the shaft and my trail arm making a triangle with my hands only hip high. Trying to finish the backswing was just a huge shoulder hike. Tried again by just slowing down my upper torso…boom.
Another great video.. can you talk about the grip ? I have watched many of your videos which has helped me tremendously. It looks like when you hold the club you have a neutral grip. Is that correct ? Thank you keep those videos coming
I normally see you teaching to elbows pinching together at set up, what is your opinion of still giving blood with the trail arm but the lead elbow pointed out at the target like a Bryson type look
A lot of that has to do with how the arms naturally hang for the person, but I like the elbow pointed at a 45° angle between the target and directly perpendicular to the stance(behind the player)
great video i used to move lateral and pick up,now i activate my shoulders and chest to push down and make space to set club i also have to delay my arms slightly and relate them to add angle of club ie plane 3 birdies 75 and i only managed this takeaway move some of the time! goes against your instinct if like most you started golf as a strong adult male!
I try to feel like the shoulders and chest are causing /making the hinge happen but caution i spent a long time doing this the wrong way with an overconnected sway!
Adam I love your stuff! Humble video suggestion based on what I’m struggling with. Could you talk about your long lead thumb and gap between lead thumb and pointer finger knuckle? I learnt to pinch that gap shut and when I try your grip it allows me to get the leverage but I can’t close the face at impact. Also can leverage on the backswing but hurts my thumb on downswing. I’m a mid singles golfer and am benefitting from your videos but can’t get your grip to work.
Thank you for the message! You don’t have to copy my personal grip! I have abnormally massive hands that can palm a basketball in each and it’s literally impossible for me to have a short thumb. The key is just about the placement of the grip in my hands. It’s in the base of the fingers and the palm underneath the heel pad of my left, and in the middle of my fingers, not touching the palm in my right. Without seeing your hand size or the way you put your hands on the club it would be hard to give you an exact assessment of exactly how you should place your thumb.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. That’s really helpful clarification.👍🏻 I revisited the video of you and Todd which also clarified a few points.
Yes, unfortunately you’re not doing it correctly if this creates tension… tension, should never be more than a three out of 10 and your arms, especially with the trail arm
Incredible coaching style. You can audibly hear the passion in his voice! Keep it up!!
He’s the best!! I want personal lessons
Always enjoy Adam’s breakdowns and analogies. Explains and simplifies extremely well for all levels of players.
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
Establishing leverage is key. Thanks so much for pointing that out!
Adams the best! The only channel I never miss! Greetings from Botswana

Pretty sure I have watched every porzak video on the takeaway. This one it finally clicked.

I need a free lesson Adam!
What?? He’s not worth paying for??
@ oh yeah I’m sure he would be worth it. But the travel to get there would be the most expensive part

I feel like this creates tension in my arms.
Then you're doing it wrong.
@@mtdstc ?🤔

Adam, s this for all clubs up to driver?
