Here's something worth considering. I have an Exide AGM battery in my Dodge Ram. I checked my CCA with a CTEK (56-925) Battery Analyzer about a year ago. The battery was 5 years old. The CCA checked out slightly below the rated CCA. Then I ran a "recondition" with a CTEK (40-206) MXS 5.0 battery charger. The battery then checked out higher than the rated CCA. CTEK makes some really good stuff. From now on I'm going to run a CTEK recondition once a year.
I have one of these in my Toyota because I came to sit in the car for long periods of time with the seat heaters on instead of running the engine for heat and they hold up
The BEST AGM battery of any kind are the Northstar AGM batteries. Made especially for the US arm forces to rigid specifications, build tough like no other. Will last from 7 to 12 yrs! The Odyssey AGM batteries are also made in the USA and are very similar in construction to Northstar batteries! So either one is a good choice. Also another contender that is also premium quality and give both for its run and half the price is rhe Duralast Premium AGM batteries as they will also last upto 12 yrs. I believe the Duralast AGM batteries are made by Energizer as Energizer also makes AGM batteries and both use the same exact battery casing & design all around!
hey dudes, google tells me Northstar AGM are pure lead batteries. the as far as i know purelead agm products: Enersys Genesis EP-series, Enersys XE-series, Enersys powersafe sbs J-series, Hawker odyssey extreme-series, Hawker Armasafe NATO Block (similar to odyssey extreme pc2250), Interstate MTZ, Fullriver Fullthrottle-series, if you ask me - all purelead AGM products are made by Enersys. BEWARE: if the car alternator voltage exceeds FLOAT charge voltage of purelead AGM (eg XE-series float voltage: 13,5-13,8V) and you're making a long trip - you may damage your AGM by overcharging (gassing, dry out)
EnerSys, owner of Odyssey, also owns Northstar. Northstar seems to be on its way out so I’d imagine Odyssey will be the main battery provider for consumers soon.
DieHard Batteries are made by Johnson Controls now who moved manufacturing to Mexico. I have watched video's and read comments that they are no longer the same quality and do not last as long. Scotty Kilmer has a video on it and why he no longer uses Optima AGM Batteries after Johnson Control bought the company and moved manufacturing out of the USA.

4 years they are still brand new to me, I currently have 14 years each on two my standard flooded SLI group 65 Die Hard’s that have been fairly well maintained, probably discharged below 9.5 volts a dozen times each, they have lost some capacity, but still start every time I need them to. When they finally die I will try the Odyssey AGM's.
Those are the old ones before Johnson Controls sold the direhard brand among it's other sub brands in 2019 to Clarios LLC, now they are junk.Oddsey is pretty much the last good brand, even interstate and optima are junk too anymore.
Odyssey is NOT Optima, though it is AGM. Optima USED to be good. Then they opened their Mexican factory, closed their U.S. factory & fired the American workers, and costed on reputation while their quality dropped off a cliff. That is why I have a Odyssey Extreme in my Jeep.
@@southpawzoverland Optima was so much better before Johnson Controls bought them, opened the Mexican factory, and shut down their American plant (firing the American workers).
I live in southern Arizona, so I'd like to know how itll perform/hold up in 100+ degree summers. Those temps murder even the best batteries. Just 2 weeks ago, I went to head home from work and the temp on my car read 117 and the car wouldn't start. I need an battery that can handle a heat beating.

funny U.S armed forces batteries tend to need allot of slaving off to start the vehicles, i dont know what batteries you are talking about

extreme?
This battery I have but also 4 extra security have a cheaper walmart battery( 2 better than one)
What only 4 years??? mine still working since 2010.
Which model do you have?
better than DOA die hard
Will LU outlast the battery or will the battery outlast LU? If the battery does outlast LU and the battery is still good throw it in blueberry.

Interstate in my Edge!
yep I have an optimum yellow top that is from 2015 that is still going strong.

Is it still holding out?

AGM’s are not known to handle heat very well, the best battery for that is still the SLI flooded types, they have the highest heat tolerance.
Dated yourself with reference to "lulabelle!" Not many know where the name came from.
