    I finally got a custom's rod from Moon's Custom Rods and it's so awesome! Moon's work is phenomenal! This rod was built using a Cousins 95mag blank and it's a bitchin' blank! Loads the bigger jigs perfectly and can also handle the lighter jigs as well. Can't wait a get a few fish on it!
    Enjoy!

    I love Moon's work! Moon and Sergio Platero are the top rod builders right now. If Mike Naoe was still building I would put him at the top tier also. Hope you get some YT on that soon.

      Jeff Yoemans Truth bro! I’ve heard of Sergio but haven’t seen much of his work. Moon’s stuffs are just amazing! 🤙
      Have you been fishing? Or still waiting for those charters in June?

      @@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 Sergio's work is awesome as well. He won the rod build off at FHS this year in LB. I think I waste Sergio's talent because I always have him wrap blacked out rods. I haven't been fishing, definitely looking forward to June charters. I've been buying gear mostly the last couple of months.

    Great work on that wrap. Was never impressed with the cousin rods I've felt a d borrowed. Never felt this blank before. I know people go gaga for some of the cousins stuff. Heck people were fighting for the blanks when the shop went out of business and sold off their blanks to the public.

      Anotherflores91 Yeah same here. Their rods never clicked with me either. I pulled on some of their factory wrapped sticks and they just didn’t appeal to me. I heard great things about this particular blank tho so when the opportunity presented itself I got one. After pulling on it and now casting it I’m glad I did. It’s a great stick. Probably their best one. I know a lot of folks are looking for one now that can’t find them.

      girabaldy tasty They’re Fuji Alconites. It was a toss up between these and Fuji SIC. Went with Alconites here and SIC for my UC still getting wrapped. 🤙

      girabaldy tasty Agreed brotha. Those SIC’s are awesome. I chose gunsmoke ones that’ll look sick with the white blanks getting wrapped.

      Jose Rojas This rod is on the higher end of the spectrum. If it’s your first jigstick get something like a Calstar gg90j or Phenix Axis 909hj. You can get them used in great condition for about 150. 👍

    Well $500 for a closeout rod you do know that cousins went out of business too pretty for my wallet that is the reason why I got into Rod building you can build the same thing for half the price have fun and don't fall asleep on the boat

      @jigslingersfishingchannel3713  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      n6yun haha. It’s all good. I’m not creative enough to wrap rods so that’s not an option for me.
      If you have these blanks now you can sell them for $200 easy. A lot of people want them now.
      What do you have against sleeping on boats? It’s the best! 😎

      @@jigslingersfishingchannel3713 Talent you don't need talent to build a rod all you need to know is which end to put the tip on you learn to build a basic Rod your learn the components you learn how to do a basic wrapping and you learn how to spell your name correctly on the rod there is a lot of information on the world wide web on how to build give it a try I think you'll like it

    • @jigslingersfishingchannel3713
      @jigslingersfishingchannel3713  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      n6yun A long time ago I tried it. Back when the internet weren’t around. You’d had to read books for instructions. I didn’t have a wrapping machine. Had to run threads through stacks of books for tension. I wrapped a few pretty good sticks. Sabre 530, Sabre 196-8, Calstar 800xl, and Seeker 270 were among them. I still have the Seeker.
      I’d imagine it’s a lot easier now with instruction videos and wrapping machines. I might give it a go again down the line.
      Good on you for doing it yourself. Saves a lot of $ for sure. 👍
