Thank you! Buckwheat used to be very common here in the States back in the 1920s and 1930s, but when modern farming techniques made it easier and cheaper to grow wheat, corn, soy, oats, etc, buckwheat fell out of favor with Americans. Now it is found in "health food" stores and is seen as rare or special. It has a great protein content and even though it can taste bland, it picks up seasoning from other food/soup/stew/spices easily. We like Survival Russia too! Lars is a great guy!
Good Kit! I like to add some hot chocolate packs to my coffee. Extra calories and a good morale boost. Plus the new style mil-surp canteen covers have the extra pouch to carry stuff like coffe, tea, sugar, etc. Plus there's enough room to put in a spoon and fork. Again, good kit!👍
I love it. It is wise of you to carry the food kit wherever you go. As you said, even if you go just a few yards from the camp. You never know when a wolf can start chasing you. It is so true. At least you always have something on you to feed the wolf, lol. (Seriously - I do love your idea, excuse my silly joke).
I always carry a few snickers bars toofor quick energy or some semi sweet chocolate and the best survival food in the world...ancient greek honey bisquits ( pound of flour poundof eggs pound of honey pound of olive oil and some raisins to taste a little salt and bake at 350 F. Wrap in muslin and soak with port or strong wine or thick raisin syrup..
Great vid! Very informative. No jerky or survival tabs or protein bars? Our Dollar Tree has small cans of Southgate corned beef which has 550 calories. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you.
Far out lookin forward to it. Watched your car survival kit video and wanted to comment but comments are disabled. Lot of real solid info there. Thanks for sharing it with us.
good idea. i have made a similar pouch. but don't you think that there is way too many things have to be carried on the belt kit? i mean knife, food pouch, water bottle n mug, survival kit, medical kit, maybe folding saw or machete, plus some stuff in pockets like small knife, lighter, rag etc. it is all considered very important items, but what to choose not to feel burdened by those kits? a lot ppl do many different kits, but often it seems like a hobby and rarely applied in a real life scenario. I bet you often don't carry them too. I don't mean to criticise your job, but don't you agree that there is too many things are recommended to carry on the belt or with you at all times? if you stick all this on you, you would look like a commando
I understand your concern and it is very difficult to explain in writing. I will do a video so you can see my setup, perhaps that will explain it better.
I like the in your face, matter of fact approach to videos. I can see how people find it abrasive, but the info stays with you that way. Not like PMS101 and the Fat Walrus Mantis, cuddling in their backyards vids. They may have the knowledge and toys, but I can't take them seriously. If for some reason I have put myself in a less than ideal situation, I'm probably going to hear your voice in my head.
That is the whole idea. Are you going to remember your sweet little old lady 5th grade teacher's voice, or are you going to remember the in-your face military drill instructor? Most people will commit something to memory if they are forced to with a matter of fact authority figure who is not joking around, especially when it comes to keeping people alive. I only hope that some of what I teach sticks in people's heads so if ever needed, they can rely on it to get out of a survival situation and make it back home.
Sorry, videos over 6 months old, don't always get my attention, especially if I am fielding comments on a new release video. I also have to pick and choose which comments to respond to or I would be stuck online all day, everyday, and never get to go out and make videos.
Nice idea!!
Going to put mine in my fishing bag
your a thinker and darn good teacher!! survival Russia talks about buck wheat all the time. your the only American I've heard mention it !! blessings

You should do a video(or videos) on your LBE and other tactical nylon options.
We have ILBE video up on the channel, but we could do a video on all our LBE too. Great suggestion, thank you!

Cans are heavy, why not buy meat in foil packets? Salmon, tuna, and other fish?
There are tuna in the video if you look
What bag are you using for that? A standard dumb bag?
USMC IFAK (Indicvidual First Aid Kit) in Marpat camo bag

What about that vape? I mean, I know you can opt to just quit when you run out of juice or battery but who wants to do that?
