Amazing! With some basic interior objects and assets this could be a great way to build doll houses for property sales. Beats paying all that money to Matterport!

Thats really neat! It looks like my iPad Pro still doesn't have the Room feature, only the Lidar and Photo.

yeah I have the same issue. I wrote polycam to see what the deal is. Maybe it's only for iphones for now?

Is the only motive for which I have bought an iPhone max and I am using it only for that purpose beside a Samsung. :D
    neither put a SIM inside....

Is the Lidar modelling less lumpy if you go slower with the initial capture? Fascinating and makes me want to get an Iphone to accomplish this.

Not really, the main limitation of the lidar is that the resolution is not that good. Things like the legs of chairs and tables will never really look right since theyre too skinny to get picked up well

Hey there! Downloaded the app for some work projects; it has been awesome so far! Is there another app or software you recommend for inputting furniture to lay out a space?

Can I immerse somebody in the room in blender giving them VR glasses? And can I edit the space (floors, colors of walls) while they are “inside” the room virtually? So they see the changes real-time?

Hello, it is very helpful to watch your video, but I have a problem, I only exported a gltf file after scanning with polycam, but only white model without lidar data after importing blender, I would like to ask what happened. Hope to get your reply, thank you!

the apple room scan api is pretty limited - it has many errors and also precision issues, curved walls or changes in ceiling height etc it really struggles with, still interesting to have and play with - but I find it is less refined and capable than apple's photogrammetry API which is pretty spot on super.

hmmm? I have polycam and on my ipad that has lidar I don't get 'room' option. only LIDAR or PHOTO. Did you do something special to get the 'room' option?

    Hi.. I'm am 1 of your patrons..:0)
I am having an issue the same as some others.? I can not see the room feature. I have the iPhone 13 Pro max. ISO 16.
Do you know why I don't see it

    • @TheCGEssentials

No clue - I have IOS16 and an Iphone 12 Pro and it seems to be working fine. Double check that you have the newest Polycam version and the newest IOS version just to make sure?

@@TheCGEssentials ha ha.. you might want to pass on my findings to the others that have this problem.
It was my fault. My phone is only 4 week old and I updated when I got it. Turns out it updated to 15.7 or something.? So upgraded to 16.. all fine now

Are you sure your IOS is version 16, you have the newest version of Polycam, and that you have an Iphone with a Lidar Scanner? That's the only things I know to check

Depends on what your time is worth I guess - looks like it's $17.99/month now. If it saves me one hour a month it's paid for itself
