I like how you show that often the initial try isn't perfect, it gives a bit more confidence to the amateur not to be discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect. Take notes and give it another go, trial and error until you get something you are happy with. It gives me confidence to know that even professionals don't get something they are 100% satisfied with every single time they make something. Keep up the good work!

We do a fair bit of campfire cooking. When frying or boiling over flames, a wider adjustment range would be useful, but those one-inch notches will be handy when cooking over coals. I’m going to make one. Thanks!
John that was a masterful exhibition of your blacksmithing skills. Nice simple project for newbies too. Since your channel is geared toward the new blacksmith, a segment on using the horn would probably be well received. 10K subscribers is well in the past. Good 4 U
Low, medium-low, medium, medium-high, and high... from the top down. Depending on the overall height of your pot from a strong or weaker fire. Nice adjustable control. Also, test it in use to see what you might change in the final production design.
In my experience, the closer to the bottom hole you can get the bottom bend the better the trammel works. It keeps the pot holding hook closer to the bar hook. That's just my experience.
Very cool. I make the first hook using a guillotine tool. The hook, and thus the adjustment bar faces the cook. My sliding hook has a little stem on it for the cook to hold on to when adjusting the length. Honestly, I kind of like your style a little better. Not as much work, and still functions the same.
I like the way your iron magically heats. 😀 I understand why you don’t show it all the time. However it would be good to see a bit more of your fire management technique. Even it you don’t talk a lot about it I think we would absorb what you are doing just by seeing it more often. Would love to see you do a charcoal fire instead of coke😀
It would have to be a very simple project. Time spent heating would probably double the length of the video. Plus my forge blower comes over very loud on the videos.

Purely from a work flow perspective, if you were making a bunch of these, if you index the punch locations on both sides of the bar, you wouldn't have so many flips during a heat. You could punch from the other side on the next hole.....

No, I am using water to cool the punch so it doesn't get hot ant deform the tip. To prevent sticking in larger material, a little coal dust helps.
