    Thanks for the video. Appreciated the music. Getting the lower steering column closeout off was a real pain, especially when you can't rotate the wheel upside down for improved clearance. Ended up removing the adjustment lever. Then, it was the safety bolts. Ugh. Finally got it done thanks to your guidance!

    I had this problem a few months ago, ordered a switch on Amazon and sent it back because the locksmith repaired my switch and I didn't have to have any programming and I kept the same keys and it saved me some money.

      They are are to get lose especially when they never be broken you need to try to put a notch in in then you have a spot to strike to try to get loose

    😊did you put the groove in the head of the bolt when you hit it with the screwdriver and hammer? So no other things than remove the panels then remove those two bolts around the column that I assume is holding the ignition tumbler in place? Thank you for the video.

    question auto parts stores here try too sell the whole setup for 300 bucks , amazon has the lock cyclender for 50 bucks fits odyssey ,which is what i have i dont think the rest needs replacing just the key cyclender itself,which is compatable with a 2005 honda oddyssey

      @Kangol_Automotive  ปีที่แล้ว

      I took to locksmith to key it to fit Original key so no programing it required of you used a new lock with a new key it's not programmed to the vehicle

    • @aliensocks8789
      @aliensocks8789 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just use same immobilizer and cut chip out of old key tape or put inside new key

    After watching your video I just changed the cylinder on my 2005 odyssey. Thank you! Now it turns over just fine but won't start acting like it's not getting any fuel. Is there anything (fuel switch) i may have shut off in this process? It's always easily started.

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      if you have a new key it needs to be programmed or you have to open the old key and see if you can get the chip out and swap it to the new one

    • @kevincollison7361
      @kevincollison7361 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Kangol_Automotive Thank you. Even without programming it, it will turn over, just not get fuel?

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @kevincollison7361 because the key is not programmed it will crank regardless that's why it's not sending fuel it hasn't verified the key

    Do you have to move the module if you use the the key it came with?

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you use the original key that was already programmed to the vehicle you shouldn't have to program just put it back the lock would have to be made to fit that key

      you something like and flat head screwdriver or a chilsle if the car is older its but together for long time do it wont break very easy you need to make it turn to the left strike it straight on putting a indentation in then strike the indentation from the side to make it turn leftwards

    Friend, I have a 2010 Odyssey, if I change it, do I have to code the keys?

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When you get the lock cylinder, it will come with a different set of keys.The the blade will be different from the original and sometimes the keys won't have a chip inside of it what I would Suggest.
      Is take the lock cylinder to a locksmith.And have them coated to fit your original key.And once you replace it you don't have to do any programming and you can continue to use your original key

    I have the same car where I can buy the part. I will be able to use the original key? Plz let me know

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can get it at your local parts store or order on rockauto.com it will come with a set of keys but i recommend once you get it to take it to locksmith and have them rekey it to fit your original key then all locks will match and you wont have to program anything

    There's no way I can do this. Whom do you suggest I contact to get this repair done? Shop wants $600! But they are just going to outsource to a locksmith. Should I just contact a locksmith?

    • @Kangol_Automotive
      @Kangol_Automotive  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you could go straight to a locksmith if you know a mechanic you could buy the lock cylinder yourself take it to lock smith have them code it to match your original key then have it put on

    • @dsha2006

      @@Kangol_Automotive Thanks! I found a locksmith who could replace the ignition/lock column and recode the key to work on ignition and door for about $300 + $69 for an extra key.
