As a west indian who grow up falling in love with test cricket and ODI in the early 2000s to mid 2010s I have to admit T20 cricket is the only thing keeping cricket alive now. Batsmen aren't as technical and patient as they were before. Bowlers and fielders are still playing good cricket but T20 was the only way to give more opportunities to the thousands of mediocre to average cricketers who would never make their Test and ODI teams. T20 is more kind and inclusive.

Yes and people these days are living a fast paced life than ever before. A degrading economy means one cannot chill and trust their job . In such a world a person cannot spend more than 3 hours for watching a sport.

I'll be Honest, I completely hate T20s, but I am now kind of forced to watch it as a die heart cricket fan, and it isn't fun anymore. I just love watching Test cricket, the joy it brings to you after watching the conclusion of a game played for 5 days is incredible, new kids have ruined the game who struggle with their attention span and other things and just increase the popularity and demand for T20 by watching it. I am just glad that we at least get Ashes every year. And I am not even gonna talk about T10.
They lied and said nobody wants to watch test cricket and forced t20 on us I guarantee that if test matches still play during the ipl less people would watch ipl but bcci won't like that that's why little to no international cricket is played

T10 leagues were never be a thing. The most popular T10 leagues have legit 0 attendance. The thing which will save world cricket is by making the T20 WC quadrennial like the CWC. They can also add a Cricket Champions League with finalists from the last season of IPL, BBL, PSL, CPL etc. Cricket isnt dying. It is becoming more and more common. And ODIs should be only for World Cups. And if you think the 50 over format is dying, it isnt. Every CWC has more attendance and attention than the T20WC. Cricket just needs direction. But the direction its getting is getting worsen. I hope you reply to this.

Why always blame the IPL & T20s?
I know it depreciated the value of original cricket, but it should also be accepted that T20 is the reason its gaining interest in associate nations, where the game should have been already dead right now.
Needless to say, it WAS necessary to reform its format to keep the game alive. Coz no sane person who's new to the field of sports would give a fuck about a game which lasts for either 3-5 days or least minimum 6 to 8 hours.

lmao odi is the worst format of cricket. most of the odi matches are one sided. T20 and test are most entertaining .
@@abirhasanshovon1947 disagree, ODI is long enough for it to have a strong tactic element to it and still have the fireworks towards the end that t20 has. ODI has been neglected which is why it has been more boring and one sided recently.
That is your subjective opinion that ODI>T20 because perhaps you're a die-hard cricket fan, but ICC introduced T20 format in the first place because they noticed that they were failing to attract viewers and fill up stadiums in England because ⚽️ is their most popular sport and in the world for that matter. So, in order to stay relevant and attract more viewers and sell more tickets, they had to come with a more fast paced and shorter version of the game because other than hardcore cricket fans like you, nobody has time or patience to sit through 8 hours a day watching an ODI match. Moreover, after introducing the T20 format, cricket has become more global rather than being restricted to only 10-12 nations worldwide. More and more new nations are playing the sport now compared to Test or ODI, which I believe is a great thing for the popularity and relevancy of the sport if you're trying to compete with ⚽️ on a global level.
