Our Young Quarterback is Losing Support... - Madden 24 Franchise Rebuild [Year 3] - Ep.24

- Welcome to the Madden 24 Franchise Rebuild with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Raiders are a team that's struggled for decades. Many have tried to fix this once great franchise but the Raiders have hired (and fired) 9 head coaches, have had 13 10+ loss seasons, all since their last playoff win in the 2002 AFC Championship Game.
There is a lot of dust in the trophy case as the Raiders last won a Super Bowl 40+ years ago. No team should rebuild as long as they've had to. Now I'm looking take them over to restore this Franchise to its' former glory.
On my MrHurriicaneLP channel I make sports gaming lets play series. My series focus on building teams and players from sports like baseball and football. I play games such as Madden 24, NCAA Football 14, MLB The Show 23 and more.

The Stockton Meter is the best idea Cane's ever had. Yes, even better than the senior victory formation in the Gophers series and moving Jabrill Peppers to RB.
Missed opportunity to call it the stock market
I don't know the Jabrill Peppers to RB was great, but the Stockton Meter is brilliant.
I still think the best two ideas was putting leon Daniels on the field.
And then perry Cummings to rb
Stockton is a gambling addict. My cousin keep seeing him in casinos gambling ridiculous amount of money pretty regularly. Definitely explains his high risk, high reward play style
I don’t know if this is true or not, but my friend swears he saw Stockton and Ippei together at Circa. You may be on to something.
It kinda makes me excited that a drafted QB didn’t workout for cane. It’s realistic and adds a whole level
I vote that the Stockton Meter be relabeled. Bust = "JaMarcus" Average = "Carr" Franchise = "Stabler"
This is just my lay opinion, I am not a trained Stocktonologist.
This series makes me regret not finishing my Stocktonology degree.
Should have a Gannon and/ or plunkett one too with it. Gannon being good, maybe plunkett being great or vice versa and then stabler. However it would work
If he just ends up being a good looking guy can we add a Jimmy G meter?
I think you gotta let Stockton ride out the rookie contract. He's not bad enough to abandon, and he could always turn the corner. But I think it'll be time to scout QB next season. He's just not worth extending, especially for a franchise QB type contract. If the QBs are really good this draft class, maybe trade him during the off season and see what you can get a la the Bears this year IRL.
I think drafting a QB this offseason, do focus development on the drafted QB, use Stockton into game 8 of the next season and trade him for draft capital
Seeing that Alex Collins makes me miss the real Alex Collins. Dude was so fun to watch run the football and could have probably been on a roster today. RIP a Ravens legend.
He was also a lacrosse legend, and as a former lax player and fan of him before I knew he played the great sport, he deserved better in the league and in life. Rest in peace to a legend
Weird way for me to learn that he died last year. But Yeah you‘re right, he was really fun to watch.
Stockton’s traits are tough to overcome, difficult to win if he gets a big QB payday. I’d give him this season and next before moving on however.
Hey, you never know, the Stockton Meter could become like the Jimmy Johnson draft pick value chart. Soon, every team is gonna be using the Stockton Meter to evaluate their QB.
I'm still with Stockton as it stands. We need to shore up the Oline and Dline
I definitely agree but the o line had nothing really to do with his ints his sacks came from holding on to the ball to long like most ai qbs but it’s still his fault. Then again the interceptions. He throws one and then two and then three and then four it’s just he’s ruining games when the defense plays well
For sure! He's gonna be a 92/93 overall by the end of the year. You really gonna move on to a rookie at 74/75??
@@kevinpena5457overall means nothing if the lower overall QB plays more consistent and makes better decisions with the ball
@@kevinpena5457 overall doesn’t matter as much as traits
@@Zion2540hd it may not matter "as much," but you really wanna hit reset 3 years in? Lol. The franchise won't even have a chance before the next Madden shows up! ;)
A lot of quarterbacks play well in sim, but bad in slow sim, usually because of traits. That’s the epitome of Stockton.
Missed opportunity to call it the Stock Market
I was searching for this comment I would have just called it the “Stock on Stockton” and had a fun charted graph of his performances
I laughed out loud with the Stockton meter 😂😂😂 best idea I've seen since the rockies franchise and the pga career mode lol
I’ve never seen a 90 overall QB be this inconsistent and get outplayed so often by mid 70s QBs in a sim franchise lol. It’s always a wild time with this team, can’t wait for the next one
Stockton just may be cooked. Due to his overall though you can fetch a mean trade package during the offseason if you plan to move on
This team needs another WR. I dont think we should re-sign Adams due to the salary situation, but this team needs 3 good wide receivers for Stockton. Clinton being a liability in short and intermediate situations really gets Stockton in trouble who we know is aggressive and will hit guys earlier.
Dude, as soon as you get rid of Stockton and get a qb with ideal sense of pressure with either aggressive or ideal force passes, you will win so much more games. (Maybe even a superbowl, that’s what happened to me)
Not when guys on the opposing team are running wide open.
I agree, traits are honestly more important than ratings or raw athleticism for a QB when starting a franchise build imo
It's better a 70 overall with the right traits than a 90 overall with the wrong traits
100% - at quarterback, it's traits over everything else.
I’m with Stockton, HES STILL SO YOUNG GUYSSSSS
It literally doesn’t matter, his traits are absolutely awful. You can’t win with those unless you have an absolute super team. Trust me, as soon as I got a qb with better traits I’ve won 2 straight Super Bowls, (going for the 3rd)
Stockton gives me Anthony Davis vibes. A truly elite game changer when he’s on but struggles to string games together. I hope he finds his stride.
So far, Stockton hasn’t earned that 5th year option payday. Without playoff success, you gotta say no and try to negotiate a mid tier deal with him next season if you wanna keep him. Cause without the playoff success or the consistency… yeah that’s a mid QB with flashes of potential. They’re a dime a dozen in this league
This is exactly how I feel about Tua. I think the team feels this way too which is why he hasn't been given a megadeal yet. At least Stockton has a playoff win.
The thing is, with how Madden works, since his overall is as high as it is he wouldn't accept anything less than franchise QB money.
All green all the time for Stockton to be behind center for the Raiders. Coming from a totally not biased Broncos fan!
I kind of think that the Stockton meter should be not change visually, but each game should be graded individually, add them together, then the average grade is where the meter is. If a bust is 1 and Franchise is 5, and game one had him at a 2, game two wouldn't suddenly put him at a 4, because game one still happened. Not sure if that would really change/add anything, but having used that scale for quality assurance inspections at work, I think it helps to see the overall picture a bit clearer.
Denzel Stockton reminding me more and more of Lester Philips both inconsistent but has good games here and there
I think you're right that traits may end up being the deciding factor. Stockton's definitely got a lot of the attributes you want to see in your future franchise QB, but without the right traits to go along with it, all those attributes will do is make him more expensive to keep. Maybe if he'd advanced higher than star development, the ratings would have evolved enough by now to make up for the rest, but this far into the series it just isn't happening quickly enough. If you end up spotting a guy in the draft that you feel really strongly about, I say a reasonable trade package could be in order.
In my opinion this feels like a real franchise. Denzel Stockton has been a questionable pick but he’s got upside(whether he achieves that or not🤷🏾♂️) I’m not quite at the point where it’s due or die for Stockton but he’s got to show more than flashes
Stockton's sense of presdure is average, wich means that if the Offensive Line holds he should play well, but if the line doesn t holds he iwill probably be sacked, that along eith the deep pass focused offense means that to perform well the offensive line must have good pass block
I also really enjoy the format of this video. Recap style. I love your live commentary but I think this makes it better for longer videos
I think the thing I am most excited about is seeing the Rams in week 18, even if it's not a division game like it should be, I am very excited to see that young corps of players and talent. The Rams were in a pretty similar situation at the start of the franchise, with a very dominant team in division that you have to challenge every single year, questions at quarterback long term, and aging star wide receiver but a lot of question marks elsewhere, and a defense in need of a lot of help. It will be interesting to see where each team is come the end of the season, and which team is better on track in their rebuild.
I feel like Stockton is slightly above average. He can have monster quarters and good games, but it doesn't seem like he consistently performs.
As a cowboys fan, it feels like i’m watching Dak every damn episode
I know that you don't like to adjust the traits and skills. I think that when it comes to the traits, lets say Stockton, maybe you can adjust them to represent his growth as a player. I think the aggressive passer trait is having the most impact on his in-game play. Keep up the amazing content. I'm invested in this team.
I think Stockton ended the episode exactly where he was, not quite at the point where he's getting replaced next week, but certainly not guaranteed to be the unquestioned starter next year.
I just have to wonder how realistic finding a replacement would be with where the team is talent and record wise, outside of trading Stockton for capital is there really a realistic solution that would be a tangible improvement in the mid to late 1st
I feel like that browns game was a bit of a non-example. Stockton's game really depends on the play-action game. Jacobs only getting 6 carries all game eliminates that aspect of his game. And only 6 carries is criminal with such a standout RB. Something's up with the playcalling ratio
Stockton's completion is inadequate for year-3. Still too many (and terrible!) misses. Cheers
The meter is Stockton deez nutz. Got em!
I don't know, I feel like stockton, at his core, is playing like Texans franchise Jordan Love. As a cheap, low expectations player, he can get the job done and take you to the playoffs. He can also get 28-to-3'd, take backbreaking sacks, and inexplicably sail passes in crunch time. I feel like it's again a case where it doesn't matter that he's well rated, his play in game just does not reflect his play on paper.
Even in those blowout wins, Stockton isn't playing phenomenal football.
I kinda forgot Crabtree existed let alone a raider and seymour wearing 15 just made him cross my mind
If Stockton isn’t getting picked off, he’s standing in the pocket too long and taking sacks.
hey cane just me again lol! But i got another suggestion regarding traits and specifically denzel stockton, i believe it would be reasonable to add on throw away for him if he doesn’t have it cause he’s been in the league a couple years and i wouldn’t necessarily say he still has the jitters or the incompetence to not throw the ball away if he doesn’t have anything. As it also prevents sacks and other undesirable scenarios. But again just another suggestion and im still along for the ride regardless!
I say use Stockton for this year and flip him at the next draft after declining option
I also support shoring up the O-line and D-line, and think that over investing in a mediocre QB could ruin this series for like 2-3 seasons
Stockton meter still in the orange but moves a little closer to bust.
The Cleveland game was not totally on Stockton, yeah he didnt help but wasnt the ONLY BAD THING.
Stockton wishes he was that surgical in short and intermediate passes 😭 Jenkins >>>
Denzel Stockdown
Stockton reminds me of Jason Campbell, with the odd great game but mostly average play
You have been getting so creative in your series I love it lol
There's been a lot of valid discussion about how Stockton's traits suck. Is there a way to change those? If not, can you come up with a way to change them?
I have Stockholm syndrome watching Stockton play.
Stockton is ranked as one of the top ten QBs because it goes solely off of the ratings. His actual play on the field is anywhere between Mahomes and Zac Wilson, and you never know which one you're going to get.
YOOOOOOOO we got +10 Morale y'all!
The problem with Stockton is that even his strengths, he not elite in that category like ofc he can throw deep but he not even consistent with that most times and that’s suppose to be what he good at
I'd say accept his fifth year option if he's inconsistent this year and the next just trade him
Every week I’m more on the side of moving on from Stockton. I think you could get a very decent trade package for him.
LET'S GO!!! Thank you Cane!!!!
I'll say it forever. Stockton is shaydon rosemond of the texans series.
Sim stats looks good.
Watched games is a struggle and clutch is zero.
I say you give him 4 years. Decline his option. Go from there. Sign or trade or let walk. But he's got a year and a half imo to show something.
It doesn't help that the play calling has been down right awful.
I think Stockton is Average after this episode. As for the trade deadline, I know you wanna upgrade as well as keep the current roster intact, but there’s no way Davante would wanna stay with his lack of production and flaws with Denzel Stockton when Adams is in his 30s and wants to win his first superbowl
Man, been watching your series for a fgew years now and I think Stockton is a bust but it's way more interesting to try and develop him. This is probably my favorite series you've done since you had the cupcake team in the green you rebuilt, the name excapes me. Might be time to make a big move at the trade deadline. Davante Adams is getting older and will never have more value than he has right now. it might be time to move on from him and upgrade the secondary. May be more appropriate for that in the offseason though but I think he's gonna regress after the season and at least lose x-factor which will greatly diminish your return.
Whilst I think Stockton is solid, and you could win a superbowl with him, I don't think you could do it after having to pay him big money, because he seems to need really good weapons
The Stockton meter is saying trade davante adams and get some picks. You're not a true contender this year so if trading him means you lose 1 or 2 more games this year, that only means you get a pick about 10 spots higher than if you'd kept him. Makes sense to trade him now & get some more high darts to throw.
This was definitely a missed opportunity for the STOCKton Market.
I just feel like Stockton doesn’t play well under the CPU because his traits. Sims fine but once you actually watch him it falls apart
If Stockton is found unworthy, trade him for picks equivalent to what you think he is. I would personally trade him for a third round pick and maybe a 7th.
Let’s go Stockton!
Let's go you for being first! 😊
Cane,
I have a question that perhaps you, or others in comment section, can answer.
Stockton's ratings section of his player card states that he is the "#9 ranked QB in the league... putting in the top 5% of QB's." In order for this math to work, there must be 180 QB's on the league. Who are all these people? I mean, do any teams carry more than 3 QB's on the 53-man roster? This number works out to 5+ QB's on each team (180/32 = 5.625). Are they including Punters and place Kickers as QB's? Are unsigned free agents considered in the league? What is the source for all these QB's?
In addition, I notice that we viewers of your 1/0 based Raiders team never get to know what your weekly strategy is for the upcoming game. Is the weekly strategy impacting the less than consistent performance of the offense and Stockton in particular? Do you always use the same strategy, regardless of the opponent?
I gotta say, I loved the pass out of the I-Formation in the first half of the Browns' game! Nothing sells a play-fake pass like having two backs in the backfield.
- sj
upgrades are my fav part but I dont understand how you only choose slot for WR and never choose hybrid for DB.
Disgusting performance by the defense against Cleveland. Gave up 400 yards to a nobody.
That thumbnail lol I love it
Spoiler*****
Stockton plays well on simmed games because of the playbook but then struggles on the watched games because of intangibles and awareness? Literally the only way I can see it making any kind of sense 😂😂😂😂
So the Stockton meter is dead center, ask Chicago and NYG how that works, hate to say it, but this year in Raiders and Saints Franchise we are still searching for franchise QBs! Its been a journey at that spot for each. Both series so fun tho🎉🎉🎉🎉
why did the cardinals have a censored name at 10:45 did the AI put a slur in lol
AI is so woke it even censors itself. Gotta love it.
Nice
The Stock(ton) Market
Is it too late to sign Joe Flacco??
JUSTICE FOR MAYWEATHER
I think you need a better corner
The secondary played awful against Cleveland
You should trade for a WR with good speed and route running
give tre tucker a shot
There’s something wrong with these low overall QBs hitting passes like Mahomes and Stockton then looks like the bad version of Jimmy Garappolo. These games aren’t fun when Madden doesn’t seem to make the simulation work well.
Team's too inconsistent for a playoff run. Sell mode and I would think about another receiver in the 1st. Adams will kill the cap flexibility and regress mightily on another contract, so I'd start there. Long term, a difference maker receiver (who's not regressing). The O line is still young, so with a punt this year, maybe they'll get enough snaps/XP to get more consistent. If not, a shorter term deal on a vet on the off season may be the answer.
Regardless, I wouldn't be a buyer. The team fails mightily against good competition, its always been their MO and continues to be.
It's almost exactly the situation my team is in right now. Also, Cane should've traded Adams in the offseason.
The "Stockton Meter"? How about THE STOCK MARKET. Missed opportunity.
38:54 you’re lying😂 that was so on purpose
Damn, really unfortunate that Stockton has such god awful Traits. He could be a top 5 QB easily otherwise.
You should trade Stockton after this year and draft a QB with better traits he’s tua without tyreek hill above average QB but unless the team around him is amazing he won’t win the big games
Put Stockton in average. He cleaned up the turnovers and looked productive at times. Not franchise or even above average, but on the level of Kirk cousins or Joe Flacco.
Isn't our LT mid to high 80s? Whenever you point out that the rookie RT is facing elite pass rushers, I'm going to tell you to move your best OT to the right side. That's where cpu teams generally put their best pass rushers in the sub packages. It might help Stockton to perform better.
Average on the Stockton Meter.
I think if you’re going to make any trade at the deadline, it should be for another good separator at WR. Maybe a good young slot in the high 70s to low 80s range? Let Bateman play on the outside. You need to see if he has the ability to be the guy post ADAMS
Face it he's a Bust!
Honestly just confused why they are playing so badly. They seem to be a good team
"What happened this week?" Madden happened.
Stockton? More like, Stock-ing the shelves at Wal-Mart
Seems like such a Jerry jones way to decide on the qb contract looming 😂
Doesn't seem like you're running the offense you want... Run first? Play action shots downfield? Lock down defensive backs? Didn't see any of that...
WE WANT THE CARDS FRANCHISE
Edit his aggressive to ideal n his sense of pressure to same. Edit his throwing motion to slinger. An please put Bateman as the number 1 n Adam's number 2 put always in the slot. An brother trade Jacob's for a Tackle, corner, or WR. Stop paying you can get same production. KC offense scheme LV defense. Vertical power
U have to let Stockton go
It may be worth it to trade Stockton for a 1st round pick, plus another G.
Stockton will not take the team to a new level, he is what he is, a Jamies Winston type qb that throws to many picks. He would best be used like Tyrelle Prior. He is a bust and I do not think he is the QB the Raiders need.
Ps. Stockton HAS to be related to Dak Prescott.
