  • Recently picked up this 1972 Camaro as I had always wanted to get a second gen at some point. Browsing Facebook I found this thing up for sale for $2500. Hoping to see if we can get this running, or if there is another direction you want to see us take this, let me know!

I'd like to see this thing run, I'd say go for it, the water is most likely from condensation and there wasn't enough in the pan to cover the crank so I say run it, I bet it will run fine

Put a big block in it.
Still go through the 350. We have a lot of videos on what to check when blueprinting an engine, why not make a series of how to blueprint and complete all the steps in doing so.
Walk is through not only what you check, but the step by step and the why we need to check it.

Yeah im honestly leaning toward the big block. My dad drove a 70 in highschool which was a big motivation to get this car. He said it was an awesome experience. But I dont think the 165hp original engine is going to fulfill that experience. However I am definitely still keeping the engine since its original!

I would most likely rebuild the 350 depending on what it looks like inside......well done!!!!

That motor is original. Rebuild it, keep it factory specs and set it aside. The car will be worth more with it.

Thats what I'm leaning towards honestly. I'm going to pull my supercharged 454 I have and stuff it in. But this will be set aside to be rebuilt.

@@RatMaro That would be my go to move. You’ll have the power you want, while keeping the cars value as high as you can. Plus you won’t have to worry about catastrophic engine issues ruining the block that is original to the car.
