He was the best prodigy up and coming in that era, from a kid to his late days he was super natural and talented without much effort. I used to be real tight with JR in grade school and junior high, I remember sleep overs with him at Matty B and we would skate all night until parents made us go to sleep, then wake up early and skate more. That was 30 years ago. Thanks for mentioning JR you brought me back a lot of memories just now ❤🍺🏁
I had gotten like 5 of those ‘Oh Pepi ’ boards and I just loved them. I did a little search and can’t find a picture of it. I don’t remember what brand it was. But I think it was red white and black with a picture of a girl with a blindfold on saying ‘Oh Pepi’. Maybe I should have held onto it. :)
29:47 anyone know if this is where the eat shit logo griptape is from? Randomly got a setup like a year or two back that had eat shit on the grip and I gave it to my nephew and he absolutely loved it haha 😆
14:55 heard about that shop on the are you garbage podcast I’m pretty sure..kippy said he bought boards there as a kid..pretty sure it was this shop anyway.. bright purple or pink building? 😂
Sweet collection. I was hoping an East Coast collection might have a Far East deck in it, I’ve been looking around for one of those for awhile. Sometimes I feel like the only person that bought one back in the day lol.
I actually painted over the one I had at the time with my own graphic, same with the Dave Mayhew A-Team deck I had around the same time. That one I actually found recently in my buddy’s garage, but even up at the skatepark of tampa nobody is aware of any Far East decks out in the wild. They were really a flash in the pan.
I remember cheap skates, saw mike v there. Remember drinking and playing pool at tattoos moms. I lived in n.e. Philly on hess st. Skating love. Memories 😊 i lived next to the Langhorne hotel too. Found out Tom's parents own it.
@@mitchheartlesssending that tracking number is a positive step forward. It’s the devils language to speak on another man without them present to defend themselves. With that said… If I hear Jake Lewis’s name once in pt2 there will be a very large problem, not only from me…but his ex wife and his adult daughters. Don’t mention his name unless you want to get on a plane to Europe and help counsel his kids about where their father went off to. I just spent a week with them helping to soften the blow about where their father has gone. There are so many things between the cracks that you know nothing about. Damn lame episode lol you need to fire your publicist and have them do a deep dive on insta collectors hahah Dave was probably the best one you have found in a hot minute

Never seen so many boards from skaters I never knew existed. His stories are kind of boring.
This dude just collects boards from people he knows not very interesting
Cool, but popsicles are boring.
