      Yeah, pretty price for some of those trees. Much more than any Xmas tree I have come across. Although I haven't bought a Xmas tree in the west ever! 😂

    They're reaally full of fruit for such small trees. Awesome! They resemble cristmas trees from afar

    Wow--I have 7 'Quat trees...5 different varieties....and they rarely ripen perfectly all at once like this AMAZING orchard !

    • @TravelAgentHanoi
      @TravelAgentHanoi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great to hear. I think they use a lot of fertiliser to get them like this and Vietnamese won't eat these fruits because of it. Yours would be healthier for sure. 👌🏻

    It's Calamondin . Calamondin have many cultivars . This cultivar is for decoration. Edit : Maybe it's marumi kumquat. If the skin smell like mandarin orange, inside have more than 8 sections and skin not smooth it's one of calamondin cultivar.
    Marumi Kumquat skin is very smooth. IMO The leaves shape looks like calamodin to me. Kumquat leaves are longer and more symmetrical.

    • @TravelAgentHanoi
      @TravelAgentHanoi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, do you grow kumquat trees in Thailand? They certainly don't eat the fruit on these decorative trees as they pump them so full of some kind of fertiliser. But at the end of TET (Lunar New Year) they strip the fruit off and replant the tree in the garden, which then grows fruit again which is used for dips. Thanks for watching. @@TravelAgentHanoi It's the same as Vietnam in Chinatown. We have local cultivar that looks ugly so calamodin is not much popular here . Tropical climate made kumquat (meiwa , nagami)a bit bitter. Both calamodin and kumquat are green and yellow when ripened outside winter. Kumquat growers are rare in Thailand. I have Vietnam variety but don't know if it was the same because I haven't seen the inside. The one I got don't have nice smell and very tart

    If you intend to plant into another soil, is it possible? Will it grow?

    • @TravelAgentHanoi
      @TravelAgentHanoi  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When we take it out of the pot after TET holidays, the fruits are stripped off (they're full of chemicals) & then planted in the garden. We have quite a few from years gone by. I'd say it's OK as long as the weather is right for it. Thanks for watching.
