Someone I know swears it's a traditional Belgian dance, whatever,it goes well wherever played, lovely. I like the key change, good touch ( not everyone credits the whistle with the versatity it has,eg 3 major and 3 minor keys per diatonic dominant without too much sweat..
Par exemple !!! Je tombe là-dessus par hasard , Florence. Nous la jouons en "bal pour enfants", cette Danse de l' Ours , et elle plait beaucoup, car il y a aussi de nombreuses figures, même si la musique est simple.
Well, I could answer that Google is your friend. ;) As wrote in the description, it is "Dancing bears" by William Holbrook Beard (1865). You can find it in Wikiart, it is public domain.
Hello ! :) That cover is realy good ! Can you share your tabs please ? When I translate tab for tin whistle with what i find on internet, that's not like you !
Hello, thanks for your compliment, but I don't use any tabs. If you like this version, maybe can you slow it down and follow me. It is not a difficult tune.
Yes. It can be Flemish, Catalan or Jewish etc. Origin is not clear, but it is a nice song to play and it is the English version which came to me. Thanks for your comment anyway. ;)

Oui, j'ai joué ça un peu par hasard et je vois que les gens aiment bien. C'est vrai que c'est sympa. ;) Merci d'être passé, Michel. :)
a lot of people think this dance is French, Flemish, or Dutch? I don't think there's any real proof where it came from originally.
Those bears had great taste.... oops, not flavour, I mean ears : (
the rhythm goes bad every now and then in the recording, but overall i really enjoy this, and i love the illustration
Thank you. I won't be a drummer, that's true. ;)

It is very old, but I have no idea about the centurion, sorry.
