Traditional Welsh Christmas carols are nice. I can feel the Christmas spirit.

Hi Cal, this is one of my favourite whistles, it was a birthday pressie a few years back. You can get a high G whistle as well but they are very small. I don't think I have particularly large hands but they won't fit on a high G. This alto G is quite a large whistle and I think has a flute like quality to it.

Very beautifully played Rod. The Tony Dixson flute always sounds amazing when you play it. Love it!!🤩🙏👍

Hi Michael, I've had this whistle for a few years and it's still one of my favourites.

Hi Graham, three years ago my son gave me a book of Carols arranged for Pennywhistle on my birthday. I've posted a selection from it every Christmas since then and used the page from the book in the background. It's a fantastic book for me because you don't have to be able to read the "Dots and Lines" you get the fingering chart too. I'm not playing this one in the key that the score is written in. I recorded all the whistle Carols on the same day and this was the last one to be played. It was getting late so I transposed my backing track and picked up a whistle that was a bit more mellow and not quite as loud as a high D.

Yes the TD Alto G Whistle is a mellower tone altogether, very nice 'Deck the Halls' cover Rod! Cool that you have fingering notation on the manuscript in the background.

Hi Jimmy, my son bought me the book of Carols arranged for the tin whistle on my birthday tree years ago. Every year since I've posted a tune from it once a week during December leading up to Christmas and used the page from the book as the background. Next year the Carols I play might be a bit less well known because by the time Christmas arrives this year I'll have played all the well known favourites from the book. It's been the perfect book for me because I don't read the dots and lines, so having the whistle fingering in there too was a real bonus.

@Reeldin58 looking forward to the lesser known ones. I grew up in Anglican boarding schools but it was mostly hymns and carols.

It will be another year before the lesser known ones get recorded (well,10 months for me!) It might just be me but there are festive tunes in the book that I'd never heard of until I got it. I'll have quite a bit of practising to do on those ones.
