    As I understand it, it's called a "toter," because it totes house trailers/mobile homes. They were trucks with a shortened wheelbase to maneuver mobile homes onto lots, into tight spaces, and between other mobile homes. COE's were favored because they could be made so short.
    I think that's a very rare bird because they were worked hard and junked quickly.
    My dad's uncle was in that business in Florida in the '60's and '70's and had two of them --- a '50-something fat-fender COE and a '59 Ford COE.

    I know that you said it was used for hauling mobile homes, but that style reminds me of an old tug that would tow planes on airports. The army had many Dodge dually trucks converted into tugs for that purpose.

    The tank on the front and the old bed made that truck even the big mirrors that thing wouldve lookd cooler as it was
