Dr. Kreeft must be one of the most tough and enduring Catholic apologists in the history of Holy Mother Church. A post script. I can't imagine disagreeing with Prof. Kreeft but I've come to observe and believe that Americans have developed an unhealthy obsession with dogs. I am a strong admirer of service dogs and the men and women who train them -- I've watched them do so. And there is a special relationship between the dog and the person it serves. But I sometimes wonder if there is an inverse relationship between the growing number of dogs -- often more than one or two per household -- and the declining number of babies. If I come off as "Old Man Potter," so be it. After all we do now live in Potterville, don't we? And I wonder if "sentimental hogwash" is one influence.

You can't just love on a trial basis, you can't only accept a person on a trial basis and for a while." (I'm not sure if there's an official English translation)

3:37 One problem I've encountered in Christianity is they start out saying you can't doubt reason itself and it's the foundation of all thought and all that. But then they backpeddle when they encounter reasoning that challenges Christianity and start saying reason is invalid and the human mind is untrustworthy. But to be honest I've heard them mainly from protestants. Like when Martin Luther said "if thy reason offend thee (meaning if it makes you doubt luthranism), pluck it out"

What a wonderful gift this discussion is. Proof Catholics have something going on to be the only mainstream spiritual group with an internet presence, creating and fostering this kind of thought and exchange. Thar i know of at least
You guys are incredible and this show is such a blessing to our world! Praise Christ for working through this beautiful program ❤️✝️❤️

A spoobful of this conversation is worth hours of content elsewhere and more! What a conversation!
Wonderful conversation. Thank you both.
I would pay a ridiculous amount of money on locals for you to interview Jimmy Akin and Dr. Kreeft at the same time.
If there were a real-world, mondern-day Gandalf, it would be Dr. Peter Kreeft
I really appreciate that even though politics are normally so contentious, nobody seems to be dogpiling on anyone over politics here. Peter Kreeft's contributions and wisdom are so great that I think it is fantastic to not worry him over current politics.
I left a negative comment, so, my apologies for that. He is a wise and witty and wonderful man on all other topics.
I can picture heaven very easily: cs lewis, JRR Tolkien, Peter Kreeft, GKC, and Jesus all having a good long chat on Pints (heaven edition). I could probably listen forever lol
This discussion was another Excellent one !
I'm only 1 minute and 45 seconds into this and I'm already loving it
At the outset, I thought you said, "I'm alive" instead of "And we're live". Made me chuckle.
So stoked they started talking about Michael D. O’Brien and his novels. I was hoping they would seeing as Peter is a huge fan of his. I hope to see Michael on PwA one day. A man can dream.
Thursday’s loud laughs add so much to the podcasts LOL
I didn't know who this mas is but as soon as he started speaking, I knew deep down I can learn a lot of things from this. So, I think I'll be watching the whole podcast.
I love Dr. Peter Kreeft.
1:00:08 "Methods are ways of making a difficult thing easy. (...) But there is no method for trust, and there is no method for love. You just do it."
Great thought. Reminds me of John Paul II quote (homily in Koln in 1980) "You can't just live on trial, you can't just die on trial. You can't just love on a trial basis, you can't only accept a person on a trial basis and for a while." (I'm not sure if there's an official English translation)
Can't get enough of this. I love Peter Kreeft. He somehow reminds me of my late grandfather.
"I don't want to watch another superhero movie ever" - Matt Fradd
Professor Kreeft oozes his love of Our Lord Christ from all of his pores ; incredibly " saintly " ; Amen !
I just came across your channel for the first time, I assume because I've watched a few videos including Dr. Kreeft before. Surprised to find out that this is going down in Steubenville, my hometown. Small world.
Yo what! I love Kreeft! He is responsible for strengthening my faith!!!
"Common Disagree with a Saint" 😂😂 that was really funny.
This was one of my most favourite conversation!
" I want to hunt in Heaven." - Matt Fradd 😊
The novel he mentioned about a boy who could heal and the world not handling it is Blessed Child by Ted Dekker. Unless there is another one just like it lol.
Ted Dekker is delightfully weird and makes me think… but I bet much of his stuff borders on too abstract. This one is one of the least weird of his books.
@@vinciblegaming6817 he also wrote a sequel to it called A Man Called Blessed, if you haven’t heard of it.
26:20 He was stealing that one from CSL.
If there was ever a man who fully accepted the antitheism (if not everything else) of Sartre and then the Theism of St. Augustine, it was CSL.
If anyone ever says "CSL never was a true Atheist" and points at Dawkins and company, well, no, he never was a true _New_ Atheist, but he certainly was a true _Sartrean_ one.
1:31:45 As I recall the words, she was saying _she would like to offer_ the King of Glory a lake of beer.
Not that I know Gaelic, but translations exist, like for Rop tú mo baile. I think you will have heard that one, but in English. Look it up.
Everyone LOVES KREEFT!
The mental image of dr kreeft facing off with a manatee holding a Bowie knife is EPIC!!!!!
Just 15 minutes in, already brilliant
Matt get to talk to one of his favourite person and i get to listen to my favourite duo. Thank 😂
Loved this chat! I heard mention of Dr. David Anders. I love the idea of having him on Pints!! 🤞🏻
I find it incredible the discussion about Islam when Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers just spoke on the radio on this subject today! Muslims do in fact own us in the fasting department but I will continue to pray they will come to know the one true Christ
PS- still hoping Dr. Kreeft will consider adopting me as one of his granddaughters 🤞🏼
Muslim fasting aka don't eat during the day and gorge yourself opulently after sunset. I suddenly don't feel so owned anymore ;)
@@lastnamefirstname850 Also can sleep all day, technically fulfill the fast, and just eat at night. The whole religion of Islam is a farce.
Did someone make a list of all the books and movies suggested?
This talk (among many other things) was so rich of good suggestions that a list would be awesome.
Praise God!
@3:38 Query: @Dr. Peter Kreeft So, is it all just a hoisted petard, hoisted, by its own petard?
My favorite living catholic interviewed by my 7th favorite living catholic
Great interview!
My favorite part of episodes is hearing Thursday laugh off-mic in the background. It's somehow really important for the atmosphere. Adds warmth. ❤
I used to listen to Howard Stern and what I enjoyed most was the authenticity of the banter in the studio.
Im reading one of his books. He is amazing.
45:15 Eustace Clarence Scrubb was his name (and he nearly deserved it).
When TLC came out with "No Scrubs" my first reaction to the title was "what's the connexion to Eustace" ...
Lol I'm not far enough into the video to get this reference, but I'm very intrigued.
@@stephencotter538 He pronounced the name "Stubb" instead of "Scrubb" ...
Like when Martin Luther said "if thy reason offend thee (meaning if it makes you doubt luthranism), pluck it out"
I LOVE this man so much ❤
Dr. Kreeft is so good
“…I don’t know; I’m not a ferret psychologist.” 😂
I believe it was Cardinal Gibbons who said he owned the 100 best books and he just reads them over and over.
outrageous title😂
Dr. Kreeft just barely out of the top five from Matt's wife and four kids lmao
Love it!!
Always a treat!
Guys the Spotify episode is cut short by like an hour 😭😭😭
How can you be in Austria when we see your studio and your guest?
@@bethmcmullan7686 Thank you!
The talks with Dr. Kreeft are hilarious 🤣
Take care, professor
To understand hell, I find the Mandelbrot fractal helpful. In summary, complying Mandelbrot equation variables outputs that remain small are the data points that display amazingly beautiful Mandelbrot fractal sets.
