The 2012 Ford Fusion is the last good looking Fusion and the sport model is decently fast, and it has Ford parts and reliability and it's cheap. And luxurious

The Malibu Hybrid does looks good though 😲 (I'm surprised because we don't get the Malibu Hybrid or even regular Malibu here in Malaysia because there's only the Chevrolet Cruze here for sale)
I don't like nitpicking, but the Chevy volt is an electric vehicle. When it runs out of juice it uses a gas generator that charges the battery. It also need premium, but it's worth it cause the millage is so good.
Aye Volt Gang! Serious note Volt is a great car. I drive around town during the week on battery and usually go 150 miles on the weekend and it’s a blessing to get gas so infrequently. Only downside is the charge time on a standard plug

*#1 The website he’s showing these cheap cars are not available in the description, #2 FYI if your hybrid battery goes bad or dies, just know the batteries are around the price of the cars in this video. I experienced it. So try to go aftermarket on the hybrid battery not the OEM battery.*
I owned a yf sonata hybrid and I can say it was great 600miles per tank hwy over 500 if you drive easy in the city and it was not to bad to drive decently quick right around the 7 second range with a 6 speed rather than a cvt
Picking up a 2013 Chevy Volt today... This is my third hybrid, having had a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid, KIA Niro PHEV, and now the Volt. The Volt is everything Tesla is and isn't and better than Ford (Prius) models or the Niro. The battery pack is cooled and heated. The BMS never charges the LiPo batteries to full capacity and limits discharge to 30% maximum drain. GM created the Perfect Hybrid Drive train. 😅
You should do a video on sporter cars that can comfortably fit people 6ft or taller and that are bigger then the average person. Hard to find sports cars for bigger peeps.
I had a Omni Miser and on a trip from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Milwaukee Wisconsin, drove through Chicago, i got over 50 mpg. Had four people in the car.
Need to correct you on something, the volts range is not that small on the gasoline generator side. Early models are 32 miles of electric range and then 8 is gallons of gas reserve. I used to get over 300 miles in a straight drive with my 2012 easy. However if I was staying within that 32 mile electric range, I regularly went 1200+ miles between fillups. Hell, my first year of ownership I went to the gas station barely 7 times in the entire year. Newer models (2016 and up) got a higher electric range, from 32 to 55. And still had the same size gas tank in reserve. Hope this helps!
Just get anything before 2001 Honda Civic, they came manual, and they are more fuel efficient than some hybrids out there. Also they cost like $300-$2,000 or more if you want immaculate condition. Plus they are very fun even tho they are tremendously slow.
Go with the Toyota Camry le hybrid 2018-2021 if your considering one for pure efficiency gets 53c and 51 highway. Amazing vehicle I personally went w the 2019 model for Apple CarPlay
I've owned a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid for 7 years. Best car I've ever driven and it gets 35-40mpg. I don't plan on getting rid of it until it dies completely.
The thing with the Chevy Volt is that while it doesn’t have the highest flat out MPG, if you don’t drive more than 50ish miles per day, you won’t even have to use gas at all. So if you’re not commuting extremely long distances where the extra 5-10 gas mpg will override 50 miles of electric only, the Chevy volt is the way to go.
@@jonathans4503 well for starters one time when we where driving down the road the headlights, the gauges, and the screens and I think even the intireor ambient lights died for a second, but the car just kept humming along. It was strange it was like all the electrics died for a brief moment.
My choice is still the Prius, but used models are going for big bucks (relatively) - more than I am going to shell out. So learning about some alternatives is enlightening. Thanks for this video.
I agree! Especially right now in this day and age.. what alternatives are you going for? Hopefully in May prices look a bit better than they are looking now..
I've been considering a toyota rav4 hybrid. I currently drive a compass 4x4. I love the utility of it. However, I do way more city driving than offloading. Thoughts?
I bought my prius for 800 on ebay and yeah they are fun when you're a car guy and know how to make horsepower when you want to, I turbo'd mine and was able to keep up with a audi tt and I was happy with my prius and and the ones who laughed in my car scene wasn't laughing anymore
I’d like my next car to be a late model Prius, but they’re just too pricey for me. I recently considered a 2018 Volt and liked it a lot. But there are some concerning issues with it, notably the battery energy control module ($$$) which has failed in many Volts. I passed on the Volt. Now I’m looking at Malibu hybrids and liking the features and pricing. But they’re few and far between in my area. But when I find one at the right price, my choice will be the Malibu hybrid.
You didn't mention the Volkswagen hybrid. Or the Lincoln hybrid. One day I saw a Ford fusion I was surprised by how nice the interior was.. the Hyundai and the Volkswagen both use regular transmissions versus the others
Honestly the chevy volt is NOT a bad option. It costs about 2 dollars to charge 80 miles, takes 2 hours. If you set out for the lunch rush having charged it at home, by 3-4pm it slows down. Find a charging station, they're literally everywhere. The best part in my opinion is that from 2013 and beyond it has an all electric AC compressor, meaning you don't have to sit there and idle wasting gas so you don't sweat your arse off. That alone, i've literally saved so much gas JUST on that feature. You can chill at a charging station and never worry, shit you could fall asleep and wake up and be like oh no i left my car idling.. oh full charge.
I have prius 2010 it's fully loaded with sunroof solar panel navigation and park assist, 37 liters for 550 km all in city , if I drive it on highway I will get at least 680km . It is cheap to repair, don't listen to people that just hate prius without even driving one lol.

And the speed cops with there radar love! you.
@@Longshlongjon22 yessir i hit 187mph the other day and still average 16-26mpg depending on how deep i am in the throttle in my whipple supercharged 2012 camaro.
@@lanceweyel879 correct me if I’m wrong but the Camaros that year have the ls3? If so how’s the reliability? Planning to get a car wjth an ls3 maybe 08 vette and above or the old classic Camaro
I think I will keep driving my 1966 Dodge Charger, lot more fun per mile than any of the cars you mentioned,
brad on the go for some o that ideal energy baby!
We have the Chevy Volt, I love it. When i first went to buy it my husband wasn't really on board. I think he thought it would be tiny and slow. Now you can't keep him out of the thing, LOL
The 2012 Ford Fusion is the last good looking Fusion and the sport model is decently fast, and it has Ford parts and reliability and it's cheap. And luxurious
My Honda cr-z gets 45-50 mpg depending on the the time of year/weather. I love it.
I would pic the Toyota Avalon, personally I think they look the best.
I wish the prices were still accurate. But either way, I picked up a sonata hybrid limited for 13k with 52,000 miles. It's been super nice.
Except for Cracked Heads, Every Valve Rattles, Oil Leaks Every Time car segments, your video is amazing. I'd go for the Camry, Avalone, or Insight respectively.
Best channel for people trying to get their first car
I would take the avalon I think it would make for a great daily driver
Some guy at my job had a lowered chevy volt on Some vossens...I can't lie it looked clean!
Thank you for the info !!
I think if I ever was to get a Hybrid vehicle it would either be the Rav-4 PRIME, or the Prius-V I like the look of both of these vehicles🤔😎👍🏻👍🏻.
The Malibu Hybrid does looks good though 😲 (I'm surprised because we don't get the Malibu Hybrid or even regular Malibu here in Malaysia because there's only the Chevrolet Cruze here for sale)
So,,, when something goes wrong and you pay the technician, then all the gas savings get sucked out of your wallet 🤔
How long is charge time?
@@davidpinto7639 i believe it was around 9 hours on standard 120V plug. 3.5 hours on 240
@@Colton.ontheadventure what year do you have and any problems to looks out for?
@@davidpinto7639 i have a 2012 Volt, my brother actually got a 2013 volt a few months ago. Next door neighbor has a 2016 volt. All 3 run great, good on gas, only thing is the seats can get to you on a long haul.
I’ve averaged 80mpg over 12,000 miles as a 30 mi commuter.
Btw I’m a muscle car guy at heart but with these gas prices Volt is a big move
@@Colton.ontheadventure same, but I need a good gas mileage car. How long until the batteries go bad for the volt?? Do you know the cost of how much it is to buy new batteries? How many miles does ur volt have now??? Would u recommend me buying 2012?
You are missing the absolute best deal in Hybrid cars on this list. The Lexus GS450h
The thing that sucks is, I live in Palm Beach County, Florida. Each time I look for a cheaper hybrid or any type of car, its rarely cheap here, and the cheapest ones are like 20-50 miles away
The Malibu, awesome videos bro
I love Prius ( I used to own one, I miss it)
I would like to try Volt or Insight from your list 😉
*#1 The website he’s showing these cheap cars are not available in the description, #2 FYI if your hybrid battery goes bad or dies, just know the batteries are around the price of the cars in this video. I experienced it. So try to go aftermarket on the hybrid battery not the OEM battery.*
I owned a yf sonata hybrid and I can say it was great 600miles per tank hwy over 500 if you drive easy in the city and it was not to bad to drive decently quick right around the 7 second range with a 6 speed rather than a cvt
Cheapest I found for a 2017 carmry hybrid was 18000 with 13600 miles, good luck at 8000
Picking up a 2013 Chevy Volt today...
Hard to find sports cars for bigger peeps.
from india no hybrids in the indian market but fun to watch
My dad’s cayenne s e hybrid changed my mind on those typical hybrid stereotypes.
I had a Omni Miser and on a trip from Grand Rapids, Michigan to Milwaukee Wisconsin, drove through Chicago, i got over 50 mpg. Had four people in the car.
This helps me so much with car buying!
You forgot to mention that the Chevrolet Volt requires you to plug it in at home to get the best fuel economy.
My favorite hybrid is the cadillac ELR
my dad has a 530e which accelerates almost as quick as an m5 and better fuel mileage by far
M5? No way. Which m5 do you mean?
Unfortunately, one year after this video was made, all the cars are now 70% more expensive than quoted here.
Hope this helps!
i have i 2009 Altime Hybrid and it drives great, it's a quick car, and it has great milage.
Ugh finally a great video for cheap hybrids! Great job guys keep on goin like this!
I only have a budget of 9k my friend
@@Brian-of6js get a 2012 fusion hybrid if you don't like prius or a 2012 camry but check the hybrid battery
Just what I was looking for.
My mom had a Malibu Hybrid, and I've got some horror stories from that
Do tell please
@@jonathans4503 well for starters one time when we where driving down the road the headlights, the gauges, and the screens and I think even the intireor ambient lights died for a second, but the car just kept humming along. It was strange it was like all the electrics died for a brief moment.
The best hybrid I know is Mercedes gle 500e . With amazing power of V6 bi-turbo this car makes 450 horse power .
Definitely would go Camry or Avalon
My choice is still the Prius, but used models are going for big bucks (relatively) - more than I am going to shell out. So learning about some alternatives is enlightening. Thanks for this video.
I agree! Especially right now in this day and age.. what alternatives are you going for? Hopefully in May prices look a bit better than they are looking now..
A friend of mine has a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 192,000 miles on it. Original hybrid battery and still gets 40 mpg
Thank you for bringing the top blank cars back! You should do one with torque numbers!
HOT WHEELS UNTIL IDEA SAY HALLO OR HI
Do a vid about crazy upgraded supercar drag cars
Thank you that was helpful. And funny too!
I wish I would have bought a Hybrid when this video came out. I need one now with these gas prices.
I've been considering a toyota rav4 hybrid. I currently drive a compass 4x4. I love the utility of it. However, I do way more city driving than offloading. Thoughts?
Smart choice. Cant go wrong with toyota!
I bought my prius for 800 on ebay and yeah they are fun when you're a car guy and know how to make horsepower when you want to, I turbo'd mine and was able to keep up with a audi tt and I was happy with my prius and and the ones who laughed in my car scene wasn't laughing anymore
is 40 MPG actually good in the states, in europe 50-60MPG is considered average
I’d like my next car to be a late model Prius, but they’re just too pricey for me. I recently considered a 2018 Volt and liked it a lot. But there are some concerning issues with it, notably the battery energy control module ($$$) which has failed in many Volts. I passed on the Volt. Now I’m looking at Malibu hybrids and liking the features and pricing. But they’re few and far between in my area. But when I find one at the right price, my choice will be the Malibu hybrid.
Chevy bolt . Money saver rn 🦋🦋🦋
05 civic hybrid got it for 200$ haven’t don’t shit to it for 50,000 miles on it of course fluids but she’s so reliable
You didn't mention the Volkswagen hybrid. Or the Lincoln hybrid. One day I saw a Ford fusion I was surprised by how nice the interior was.. the Hyundai and the Volkswagen both use regular transmissions versus the others
I have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ Hybird about 38 MPG - Full Time Uber
I’ve got a 2010 fusion and mines still kickin at 180k no problems at all
I have prius 2010 it's fully loaded with sunroof solar panel navigation and park assist, 37 liters for 550 km all in city , if I drive it on highway I will get at least 680km . It is cheap to repair, don't listen to people that just hate prius without even driving one lol.
Hybrids are great commuter cars but you need a fun weekend car
Great video with nice cars. But it was useless in the EU because half of them isn't even sold here lol
