OMG! I had one of these as a boy. Thank you so much for bringing back memories of continuing to read a nonput-downable book after lights out under the duvet - with exactly that flashlights!
Keep up the good work!
I have this flashlight in home
I’m amaze how we saw anything with these flash lights. Lol. Good restoration
The Flying Eagle 🌿👌 😎
My uncles used to have one back in the 90's. Thanks for reviving my memory. Great job 👌
How you managed to rivet the switch from the inside,
will have to remain a mystery.
You are extremely talented - Most things I have taken apart I have had extra parts OR was just never able to get them back into place - Your knowledge is truly amazing.
Hello mister beautiful Flashlight good job well done
I remember having a flashlight like that as a young girl.
looked brand new on the inside.?
Anyone else from the 70's immediately recognise this Lightsaber?
Have a 2 cell Ray O Vac Sportsman my FIL owned 50 years ago. All I do with these is unscrew and spray with terminal cleaner and screw together again a couple of times. Works the way it did then. Before Mag Lights, police used the 5 cell Ray O Vac. Many wrapped them with black electric tape.
I had one to make bats fly away from our country side house in Brazil.
Excelente trabajo. Esa linterna debe ser de los años 70'.
This type of torch still have in our hypermarket in Malaysia...I think it's made in India... that material same as I know...maybe different brand....anyway nice restoration... cheers
Thank you
good job, its a great invented torch, old times, i have used same one, it must have become expensive compare to new plastic torches
Thanks for your comment, we will try our best in the next videos
What was the heavenly music behind most of the video?
Ok....youve won my 💖!!! Lol can u mail me that flashlight???? Just kidding but you do magnificent restoration!!!! Many thanks!!
When media blasting , with something like that , suggest you use bicarb ,less aggressive on the material ,will save a lot of sanding time
Thank you for your comments
Electrolysis would have replaced all that hand sanding
Nice work. Keep it up 👍
Phony restoration. Muddy on outside and clean and shiny inside. Come on.
common thing to see ... given the characters/construction of the flashlight, not abnormal .
I agree
Flashlight from Vietnam :)))
cool result!
Thank bro, happy new year
good one, well done
Just the scenario
"Buy some new or good things, make it dirty and just wipe it"
Taraaa... You have new from the new one
That would make for one entertaining TH-cam video!
I agree
U can use those things as weapon to !
Great work , and you have kept some parts in that restoration a secret.
Nice refurbishing project. But honestly, with the new LED flashlights available these days that last longer and put out tons more light, that type flashlight isn't much in demands anymore. Another situation where technology makes older things like that near obsolete. Thumbs Up!
You can use it with an LED drop-in (the emitter + driver assembly in the form factor of a traditional incan bulb). Heck, you can even use a high CRI warm white emitter to emulate the incandescent color of lighting.
Not true - as these old flashlights consumed a lot of energy (around 890mA), the batteries were sized accordingly, two D types were standard (6000mah) giving around 7 hours of energy. If you now take one of these old flashlights and put in a modern LED that consumes around 90mA, you get an astonishing 70 hours of battery as a result of the large batteries these types of torches have. This is really cool and I do not think they're obsolete at all.
Not even factoring into account that these classic metal ones with the curved enlarged end for the reflector look so much better than personality-less tubes of coloured plastic. Sure they're smaller but swap in an LED into the older ones and they are just as bright, have a far superior battery life and are much more durable as a result of being made of metal.
Great job.
Thank you
TIGER 👍
Must be nickel plated. It will rust in minutes.
Nice work!
Strange rusting pattern.
For nickel plate.
That's not antique! It's from the 80's!
Well done, keep going!
Thank you
🔦🔦🔦🔦 good
Her that's a pretty serious restoration, great work mate!
Good
Everything is fine except the mud, everyone can do that.
this lamp is popular on 80s and 90s...hope you check out my version of lmp restoration..love and appreciate that..tnx alot.
But you must focus more♥️🌹🌹👏

Perfeito.
Me: No way he can restore this

Siri, turn on flashlight
Nice cleaning. it looks like laying in salty water two days before. Big show for nothing. If you do not start with ambitious content in near future I will cancel my patreon membership
Oh come on! Covered in mud an rust on the outside and zero corrosion inside? Restoration not so "amazing".
This flashlight has nothing to do with the word antique. It's from the late 70 or early 80, I know because my parents had one. By the way, it's a nice restore video.
Thanks for your comment, we will try our best in the next videos
Actually, it is from the 1960's. I know. I am from the 1950's.
Late 70s/Early 80s IS antique! Time flies...
Early 80s was 40 years ago, my dude.
11:10 how did you put that bolt locked
The approach is too aggressive in my opinion.
Falsa restauracion...
What no lubricant on the treads !
Thank you for comment
What was the material in a little glass jar
Did not like it, incomplete did not explain how he put together the on & off switch !
This is not antique it is still available in indian markets
👍🥃👏👍🥃👏👍🥃👏👍🥃👏👍🥃👏👍🥃👏
thank you for comment
Sorry but that’s only light rust. You could almost brush that off without a wire brush.
Not what I would call a restoration and certainly doesn’t need a sand blaster to clean it.
Regardless, you cleaned it.
I grew up with these back in the ‘70’s. They were POS then and still are, no matter how hard you clean it. 👎🇦🇺
Maybe it has been laid in salty water 2 days before.
Waste...
correct
It don't take me a full minute to see that its a flashlight. Get on with it already.
Yeah, that was a little long.
