  • Quick breakdown of bumper removal. Removed bumper with grill still attached. Underneath there are several bolts that need unscrewing. But the cover under there doesn't need to be removed just the screws on the front.

    The screws on either side in the wheel well can be done with a phillips, but is easier with an 8mm socket. Also, when removing a Sorento bumper like the 2017, be careful with the tabs. The ones on the side panels closest to the headlights are the ones we usually had break on us at the factory when doing repairs. When installing makes sure those seat before the outer sides(at the trim) and there are two tabs along the front at the bottom of the bumper to watch out for. If those catch on the front end module, it will make the bumper not fully seat and cause a gap to the fenders. The under body bolts take a 10mm socket.

      Thanks to both of you, this looked insurmountable until I saw this and read the comments.

    One thing that I found really helped is to pull upwards on the trim - 1:27 in the video. This was the only difficult part for me and once I figured out that pulling upward helped, it was easy.

    Thank you very much! My sorrento headlight(RH) is dead so I changed HID bulb but still not working. Problem is Ballast issue and car center quotation is 500$ to change new ballast. So I would like to repair by myself! Your video is very helpful to me :) If I success I will let you know!

      Glad I can help. Good luck. You can definitely take off the entire headlight housing once the bumper is off.

    thank you, thank you!!!! I think your video will help me remove my bumper from my Kia 2013. Very similar. I was hesitant in not wanting to "break" anything when pulling. I will attempt and take my time!!!!!

      You having a headlight issue too? I was appalled to find out that you have to replace the whole headlight to fix the wiring problem, that isn't a problem according to Kia. Then they wanted $547 to replace and install it. I found one brand new for $116 and I'm installing it my dang self.

      @@TheARoston1 I also have a 2013 kia Sorrento and I am having head light problems first it the driver side I replaced the wiring and still had problems. So I replaced the bulb. Problem solved. So I thought! Right side started acting up so I replaced the wiring harness and then I replace the bulb and then I had to replace the wiring harness again and the bulb. so what have you done to stop your problem? The dealership did tell me I had to replace the whole headlight lamp and I forget which side it was was like $600 and the other side I could not get cuz it was not available anymore but I forget which is which

    I have a 2017 lx and it didn't come with fog lights, just some plastic coverings. I'm thinking about buying some from Amazon and installing them myself. I know nothing about cars. Is it just as simple as clipping the aftermarket fog lights in into a harness that's already there but not in use ? Or do I have to buy a harness and run a wire from somewhere to connect that to the aftermarket fog lights?. I'm already having second thoughts just thinking about messing with wires.

    • @Dondonmixedflip
      @Dondonmixedflip 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I just buy a fuse tap, connect that to the fuse box under the hood, then buy a harness and connect it to the fuse tap, and then connect the fog light harness to that. But how do I turn them on and off? Or would the fog lights just be on if the car is on? I'm really debating this modification, but the fog lights look so cool on a 2017 Sorento.

    Is this bumper removal necessary to put in after market fog lights on a 2017 where no originals exist?

      @@jostnyc Sorted it out on the weekend! The torx bolts are real but the bottom of the part is held in with 6 clips that can only be accessed from behind, so I had to take the whole thing off anyway. Fortunately it's as easy as you make it look (in fact 4 of the screws above the grille don't need to be removed). The part you linked is the part in question, although it's the unpainted plastic part for the other trim levels. Thanks for the video!

    You might wanna add for people with NO common sense to remove the negative battery post or you can deploy your airbag. I mean, the sensor is right there. Lol
