I was sooo blessed to have been brought up in a Christ centered home. My parents told me that I had prayed with them when I was 5 years old but had a serious head injury and could not remember that event. I remember when I later asked Messiah into my heart and life. My family have also made that decision to be Victorious in Christ. I will spend eternity with them in Heaven. HALLELUJAH!
The prophesied 7 year Tribulation period is set up and will start when the coordinator of a 7 year Peace Treaty between Israel and the world. Jerusalem is prophesied to be a troublesome stone in the end of the Age of the Gentiles.. for Jerusalem to be a stumbling Block to world peace, Israel would have to have been miraculous reborn. Israel celebrated her 76th birthday was celebrated May 14, 2023.. my generation will not collectively pass away before all Bible eschatology will have been accurately and literally fulfilled.

If Jesus would have been 1 years old when Simon died and wouldn't have known him, then how can John the Baptist know Simon when John was just 6 months older than jesus? That would mean that Simon died when they both was 1 years old so they wouldn't have known him

Brother in all my psychology, Biology and Anthropology I have never read a person who has hidden the truth. this person did the same about Moses and the road to the "promised land". Jesus was crucified on Passover, buried on the Feast of Unleavened Bread and rose on the Feast of Firstfruits. The Holy Spirit was poured out on Shavuot 50 days later.
Simcha Jacobovici Is, in my view, the greatest Biblical Archaeologist we have today. He is able to push aside religious barriers and dogmas that limit our perceptions of our shared histories. I may not always agree, but what a great detective. An example: Christianity holds the symbol of the fish as indicative of Jesus followers. However, Jesus was born into the beginnings of the 'age of Pisces' and many of the beliefs, at the time, held a close relationship to astronomical connections in their search for 'signs'. Not unlike our current 'age of Aquarius', people held fast to their hope for a new age of enlightenment, and not just to any single prophet or messiah. Thank You Parable, this was your best yet. More from Simcha would be a welcome enlightenment !!

How did this guy know the stone predated Jesus. Did it have a date stamp on it?
Intricate history, but never heard of a stone painted with ink from the time period that text survived.
Unless the stone had been buried in an animal skin all the thousand years, the ink should have faded and worn away so that no text could be reproduced.
So naturally, one becomes doubtful about the authenticity when the collector does not want to have such a find examined.

There's already multiple stories much older than Jesus that match the story on many key points. Virgin birth, performs miracles, persecuted, crucified, and risen after 3 days. Jesus is not the first. Hence the inspiration.
@jessicam4201 since all of this was prophesied for millenia before Jesus birth in oral tradition pre-flood and post flood and then written down by Moses, of course "Gods" and "men of renown" could be created prior to Jesus' arrival. However the timing of those 'saviors' and 'gods' did not fulfill every prophecy (including timing) the way that Jesus did. Jesus isn't the counterfeit, the false ones before and after Him are.

Why are they so surprised that they found a stone that told about Jesus's death and Resurrection before he lived 🤨?they have writings in the Hebrew manuscripts that were written by the Israelites hundreds of years before Jesus was born... In the Mosaic text. And even in the book of Genesis... even like Psalms 53 that was written by David hundreds of years before the birth of the Messiah.. plus there's over 2000 prophecies about him and other events that were written before Jesus showed up that were fulfilled . Nothing in this doc did anything to make me question the Messiah Jesus of Nazareth. Ive enjoyed this guys other documentaries I've seen and have no hatred in my heart.

I know what you mean about this documentary, yes it’s saying interesting things about the possible origins of the crucifixion story that make us question what is true. But like you say, the intuitive heart knows there is a Jesus and always will be . Questioning and have doubts through prayer deepens faith.

Perea or Peraea (Greek: Περαία, "the country beyond") was the term used mainly during the Early Roman period for part of ancient Trans-Jordan, broadly east of Judaea.
I had not realized until after my previous text was sent, so it's not "carving" but "painting" on stone. I was recognizing that sometimes people need help to communicate or to produce work that they are known for. I used to work for a pottery artist and other types.
Intriguing documentaries that are clearly presented with strong evidence, especially with the Sator squares. My only slight criticism is with the Gabriel Inscription. Although the historicity of Jesus Christ is not questionned there is a suggestion that his resurrection did not physically take place, merely that an ideology lived on after death. This seems at odds with holding to physical archeological evidence described in scripture such as the Gadarenes and finding the necropolis. Another aspect not covered fully is the notion of false messiahs, prophets and teachers. Also the Dead Sea scrolls provide an almost complete record of the book of Isaiah. Isaiah provides muliptle prophecies and direct references to Jesus Christ. For example, Isaiah 7:14-Isaiah prophesies that a pure young woman (some translations a Virgin) will give birth to God's son. Matthew 1:18-23-Isaiah's prophecy is fulfilled. Isaiah 9:6-Isaiah prophesies that Jesus Christ will come as a baby etc. Another aspect completely overlooked is the clear evidence where Jesus Christ is referred to in the old testament in what are called Christophanies, or preincarnate appearances of Jesus. For example, in Genesis 22:11-18
Abraham took Isaac to Mount Moriah to sacrifice him as God commanded. But when he was about to kill Isaac, the angel of the Lord appeared and told him to stop. He said, “now I know that you fear God seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.” The angel of the Lord spoke as if he was God. There is a clear distinction in scripture between the angel of the Lord and an angel/angels. Also there is a clear similarity between Abraham offering his only son and what God would ultimately do by offering his one and only Son Jesus Christ.

@@Bansheae I think you are supposed to count Thurs-Fri as one day, Friday to Saturday as another day and He Rose on the Third Day. Sunday. Days are logged from sundown the night before until sundown next day. So HE rose on the third day, not "three days later".
This is just semantics based on the Jewish traditions. Also, keep in mind that he rose on the 3rd day, leaving the window of anytime on that 3rd day. He passed on Friday (day 1), was doing the fathers will on Saturday (day 2), and was risen on Sunday (day 3)
The Jewish tradition of days back then was also different, so there is some discrepency here, but the meat of the story is still unchanged.

Enslaved appears to be his latest finished project about the transatlantic slave trade. He is currently working on a project with disney that frankly sounds like a waste of time, but maybe they are paying him well. I wouldnt work with disney if it were me.
He is 70 years old. I do not profess to be an expert on him or his works, but i was a fan of the Naked Archaeology show and Exodus Decoded, and am baffled by the people who think he tries to disprove Christianity. Even the Jesus family tomb stuff would not disprove Christianity, and i think he believed Oded Golan and sincerely thought he figured something out. If you skip that unfortunate episode, his work is very supportive of Christianity and the historical accuracy of the Bible. The priest he interviewed in the family tomb special was unmoved and responded that finding proof of the body of Jesus would not change his Christianity, and he leaves what happens to dead bodies up to God.
In short, if he is indeed trying to disprove Christianity he is doing the worst job ever 😅 if anything his work has strengthened my faith lol

Wasnt these books of the bible written hundreds of years after the fact? Could it be possible that telling the stories thru-out the years may have lost some details like right there off the shores and found the possessed man?
The Historical Context
The four canonical gospels-Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John-were all composed within the Roman Empire between 70 and 110 CE (± five to ten years) as biographies of Jesus of Nazareth, written about a generation after the crucifixion of Jesus (ca. 30 CE). Our earliest extant sources about Jesus of Nazareth and his teachings remain the letters of the apostle Paul (whose earliest letter dates to the late 40s CE). ( I researched this so I hope it helps, there is a lot more information on this subject if u want to research it. The concinses seems to be the first Gospel was within 40 years of Jesus death give or take 5 to 10 years )

It is a common misconception that the gospels were written hundreds of years after the fact... n all of the epistles (letters) in the new testament were written either by some of the actual original 12 disciples of Christ, or by those first following those disciples while they still lived n were on their missions. One whole set was written by Paul of Tarsus, originally called Saul of Tarsus, who actually sought out n murdered the first followers of Christ, until he came face to face with the risen messiah, asking him why he was persecuting him, n was blinded by the encounter for 3 days, until a man he was told would come to him n heal him, did in fact just that, n Saul immediately became a believer n one of the most devout followers of christ. @@iluvrolaz I understand that as a believer you want to believe that but there's not 10 historians in one room that will agree with you with the amount of certainty that you're putting forth. There's a lot different opinions on which characters wrote what and when they did it. It's not possible to be exact to 100% certainty simply because it was put together not written together, the same stories appear 400 to 1000 years earlier written by other cultures. Man has always turned his heroes into gods. It's nothing new, it's just with Yeshua things have gotten out of control. Yeshua was a Rabbi, a teacher, and a Jew not a Christian. More people have died in the name of Christianity than for any other reason in the planet. The time frames and The history of the bibles authors has never been black and white as your post insinuates. And also any critical thinking adult will approach the bible the same way you would any other book, research it with as much tenacity as possible, without letting emotions get involved. King Yeshua was a great man, that goes without question, but all the mythology added on to his story was just that, mythology. The statements made in the bible carry tale tale signs of the use of imagination. They contradict, they're out of sequence, there are mistakes, and even some don't make sense. This is what happens when many authors write passages in different years, and for different purposes. It's a book that helps many and hurts even more. But most importantly, it's just a book, it's not gods words, it's mans words. God never once came down with a book and said read this because it's my words....

There’s probably something about Melchizedek that got left out somewhere along the line that would explain that better. That happens a lot with The Bible. Unfortunately, many of the scriptures are lost to time so we will never know. The ones we do have,….. some I don’t think have been deciphered correctly to this day. The people that wrote them would appear to like to refer back to other scriptures with alliteration and describe mundane things quite outlandishly. So many people are worried about revelations but I think that time happened a long time ago when the book was written. That’s what John of Patmos wrote about.
From a general perspective many people take scriptures from the Bible and use it to manipulate others for themselves to gain benefit financially by using spiritual scripture to gain advantage energetically over others and their only justification for it is its all biblical . There is quite a bit available about Melchizedek, and it is interesting. Many have written much. Look it up. Unlike most Hebrew/Jewish priests, Melchizedek did not obtain his position through birth e.g. Aaronic priesthood. His priesthood, like King David/sons and the Christ, was bestowed by God.
As for the Book of Revelation (no plural), some of it obviously is for an earlier time, and some of it is obviously for the time of His return.

Maybe Gabriel was the angel that resurrected Jesus on behalf of God. Maybe this was either written at the time of his resurrection or before, ABOUT Jesus.
Or, the question really isn't how Jesus was influenced by the previous "Messiah's" but, maybe WHY the Jews didnt recognize Jesus when He came. Simon of Perea was a leader, a strong leader, but when Jesus came, the Jews didnt recognize Him because He was meek, and showed compassion.
Jesus spoke to God. He maybe knew of the past "Messiah's" but there wasnt much influence except maybe that Jesus started to know who He was and he confided with His cousin about it, earlier, St. John the Baptist.
I disagree in your hypothesis. Then, why didnt the Jews recognize Jesus when He came, if they knew a story about a "Messiah" suffering. You hypothesis doesnt make sense.
