Hello! Please help me out on how solve 'cannot place this file. No filter found for request operation'. At first the files were loading but when I came back after pausing they are'nt. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it didn't work tried to file solution here on TH-cam but found non.

Wow! So I went thru this tutorial in full. I had a job interview which required some InDesign experience. After I completed the tutorial, I did one of your classroom assignments as well, with little to no frustration. I also paid close attention to your advice on including the crop marks, bleeds and especially the color bars! I then went to a company's website, matched all crucial colors, downloaded images and branding logos. I put all of this graphic info into a mailer along the same lines as your tutorial. Long story short, this small project was the reason I'm having my 2nd interview! It was so easy. They thought I had several years of experience! The interviewer's comments were, "The reason we're having this 1st interview is because of your initiative. I saw your demo using the company's logo, etc. I also liked the color bars on the demo. Great job!" Just two days later, I also went on to make some collages for some 8 x 10s of my gransdon. I used high quality printing, and when I had sent the final project to a local photo company for printing, the prints were amazing! My wife enjoyed the compilations so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you! If I get the job as a Digital Marketing Specialist, I will let you know. Here's the kicker... I have been self employed, teaching and tutoring mathematics for over 32 years! Reallocating my attention to detail to graphic arts is a nice change. Great tutorial and great patience on your part. Well Paul what can I say. I was someone who was used to very quickly putting together flyers and brochures in Microsoft Publisher and Word. I had always wanted to get into Adobe products, in particular InDesign but was always daunted by their and the complicated layouts of their products. But a recent job application meant it was now a requirement. So I finally took the plunge, got the software and decided to give it a go. By following your course I went from knowing nothing to being able to create things I would not have dreamed of creating before. The beginners course was well paced, aimed at the right level and easy to follow. Thank you, Gordon.
I often refer people to youtube to find answers to their problems. I don't know if I am just exceptionally picky or what, but I wade through video after video posted by people who know the subject matter, but haven't a clue at how to teach. Problem solved, the problem was that I was using files from another folder (_MACOSX instead of Exercise files) which are exactly the same but optimised for mac and not windows which i'm currently using. Thanks for caring.

Video was very helpful. However, might I suggest adding information about how to organize work using layers. Bad habits are easily developed and information about how to use layers would be beneficial in a beginning course.
Hi Dan, I have a question about data merge. Could I merge a set of hyperlinks, specifically over a set of image icons with indesign. If I have an icon of (buy online) at every page of my catalogue, and I need to merge every unique hyperlink (page of specified product) with it's respective "buy online" icon . Thanks
