Olympiazentrum & Olympiahafen Kiel-Schilksee-The Olympiazentrum Schilksee (also Olympiazentrum Kiel-Schilksee) is a complex of a yacht harbor, sports boat harbor, residential buildings and shops in the Kiel district of Kiel-Schilksee in Schleswig-Holstein at the exit of the Kiel Fjord. The marina is one of the largest ports on the German Baltic coast. The Schilksee bathing beach, which is one of the most popular beaches on the west bank of the Kiel Fjord, borders directly on the marina. From the SFK ferry terminal Schilksee of the Schlepp-und Fährgesellschaft Kiel you can take a passenger ferry to the other side of the fjord to Laboe and of course to Kiel city center in the summer months.
The Olympiazentrum Schilksee was the venue for the sailing competitions during the 1972 Summer Olympics and was built in the early 1970s
Today the Olympiazentrum Schilksee is the venue and port for the sailing competitions during the Kiel Week and other sailing events.
