Toyota adds a new top model to the successful Yaris Cross: the Yaris Cross GR SPORT. With an exclusively sporty exterior and interior,
The GR SPORT family is being expanded further. In addition to the Yaris, Corolla, C-HR and Hilux, the Yaris Cross will also receive a special GR SPORT version.
From the outside, the new Yaris Cross GR SPORT features new polished 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. Sporty accents also include a new rear diffuser and front grille with an exclusive hot stamp piano black pattern and subtle GR badging. Dynamic Gray is the signature color of the GR SPORT, which is additionally available in two-tone with a contrasting black roof and struts.
The Yaris Cross GR SPORT comes with Toyota's highly efficient three-cylinder 1.5-litre Hybrid engine. The long cylinder stroke of the powertrain, the fast combustion, the high compression ratio of 14:1 and the temperature and pressure control ensure that the engine achieves a high thermal efficiency of 40%. The CO2 and fuel consumption figures of the Yaris Cross GR SPORT are expected to be comparable to those of the Yaris Cross Adventure.
In the interior, the front sports seats have new gray upholstery with red stitching. This red stitching also appears on the steering wheel and gear selector lever. Premium GR SPORT Ultrasuede™ black perforated seats with leather-like cushions and red stitching are available as an option. The GR logo is prominent on the front headrests, start button, instrument panel, and steering wheel, and there are GR SPORT specific gunmetal-colored inserts in the doors and instrument panel.
As a top model next to the Yaris Cross Adventure, the Yaris Cross GR SPORT has rich standard equipment, including dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a 9-inch large screen for multimedia and navigation, and privacy glass at the rear. The GR SPORT is of course also equipped with Toyota T-Mate: the comprehensive package of advanced active safety and driver assistance functions.
Customers appreciate the high SUV driving position and the dynamic handling characteristics.
The Yaris Cross GR SPORT can be ordered from this autumn. The price will be announced at a later date.

So, it is a fake performance edition car, with a ECVT transmission, some "make me look fast" ribons and diffusers. Baptised GR for a quick cash grab, like the BMW M styling and Mercedes AMG packages. No thanks
