You always make everything look so beautiful. I know you have covered a lot of outdoor skating. I've watched and rewatched all of them! But would it be possible to do one that really details how to get rolling on supper rough surfaces? I am still struggling to skate on the horrible concrete that is basically my only option where I live. And my biggest problem is the starting position and getting to roll forward, when immediately there are bumps and crevices that my wheels get stuck on. I have upgraded my skates to the Moxi Beach Bunny. And just purchased the Atom Pulse Lite wheels. I've only had then a few days, so I haven't had a lot of opportunity to really try them out properly. But advice on that starting point would be greatly appreciated.
Oh wow! That sounds like a hard surface to skate on. You might find short march type steps an easier way to get moving. Make sure the back foot is forming a T to give you a small push.
@@Skatie thank you! I'll try that. I did make a tiny bit of progress the other day with my new wheels. But I looked like it was my first time on skates. I can skate pretty good on smoother surfaces, but there's not anything like that except my teeny tiny kitchen. I want to really skate! 🛼🛼
My gait is a little crooked so I always walk on the outside edge with one of my feet. It‘s annoying in everyday life already, because I roll my ankle frequently, but it‘s even worse in skates. Any tips on general ankle stability?
I’d recommend to get a boot with some ankle support. Ideally an entry level artistic boot will help. You may need some insoles to help with the uneven weight distribution.
@@Skatie thank you very much :) I got some insoles and have done weight distributions exercises (basically just trying to roll straight on that one crooked foot) and it´s far better now. :)
The Heel vs Flat video will go live this week to everyone. Are you on an iPhone? The link doesn’t show on the TH-cam app on iPhone annoyingly. It’s on the desktop site. We also have a Patreon page if that’s easier - it has the exact same content as YT Members. www.patreon.com/skatie
