This is the best video I have seen so far that focuses on the '21 Durango Tow and Go driving characteristics. My Tow n Go Durango should arrive in a few weeks. It is all black with the Blacktop Package and black Lights Out rims.
Don't forget, you guys are at 7000 feet elevation. This is a normally-aspirated hemi. You're not getting the same HP as the sea-level figures you quoted.
Currently renting a 2021 R/T for a week without the tow n go package. So far found no issue with wireless apple car play at all. Loved the ride quality and amazing handling for a 5300lbs family hauler. Only major concern is; even the 5.7L HEMI is extremely thirsty 😣.
My 15 RT(Challenger) averages 19 - 20 without hypermiling, I can't complain. I have been using 93 premium gas, since I bought this first hand. I do not need to, but I do it.
Really enjoyed your review! I agree with everything you said, and you said it better than I could have! This thing actually tows surprisingly well too. I find the Durango R/T Tow N Go to be the best compromise for those who need 6-7 seats, occasionally tow, and want something that is fun to drive everyday.
I love my 2022 Durango RT Blacktop AWD with Tow & Go. Black with Red Brembo calipers. It's awesome!!! My other vehicle is a 2021 Challenger ScatPack Shaker. They're both sweet!!
One reason I enjoy your show is the scenery (and I don’t know mean looking at you guys; sorry). Joking aside, the roads you drive are great. Utah is beautiful. So is California when you go there. I throw out the comment b/c I am sure I am not alone and maybe - just maybe - extending out to other venues. :-)
I’m sure everyone’s said it already but I can’t help myself. The next v8 up from the 5.7 is the 6.4. It is weird to think that the hellcat engine is technically smaller than the non hellcat v8 but then again it has a blower on top of it that by itself is bigger than a lot of engines out there.
I have a 2020 GT V6 and its not under powered at all. Its really Tuned and Calibrated nicely. Great power for the amount of gas it uses. It really feels like your driving one big computer, i love it. Very smooth and quiet.
I have a 2018 Black Top GT it has enough horse power to accommodate how heavy it is it performs very well is comfortable to drive and fun especially in sport mode.

Thanks to this review I went and brought this Truck... Mine has the SRT brakes though... ALL THE SUV/TRUCKS BOW DOWN TO ME ON THE ROAD NOW UNTIL I SEE MY BIG BROTHERS.... SRT/ Hellkat...💯🔥🚀💪🏾👌🏾👀... Not that Many look like mine though..
I kinda think the "sound not matching the speed" is a good thing! Right? Means you can enjoy the sound without getting you and your kids in a police chase. :) My Dad's Jeep Hemi Grand Cherokee is similar, this just doesn't have the Corsa exhaust. I love just hearing the thing roar up to the speed limit. Such a good sound and there's no worry associated.
True if you want a fast agile vehicle you shouldn't be buying a large SUV anyway, but even this vehicle with the 5.7 v8 is still faster than most SUVs on the road.
I had a 2001 Durango SLT plus black on black and loved it it was like driving a Cadillac. I just purchased a 2022 RT plus black on black with the blackout package and again I love it. It's got everything except for the tow and go and I looked at the ones with tow and go and I don't regret it. Mine was 63k MSRP tow and go would have added another 5k to that.
I was also down to the new MDX or this exact Durango tow an go. I went with the Durango. The standard V6 in the MDX with only 265 horse power turned me off. The Durango gives us the Hemi and Brembo Brakes and that awesome sound!
About to order a 22. I had a 2012 R/T for 130,000 problem free miles and traded to a 2017 Ram 1500 which is closing on 120,000 miles, again problem free. Considered the SRT version which runs $10K more identically optioned but the gas mileage is abysmal and I just don't need the 6.4.
I own a '22 Durango SXT with the Pentastar V6 and It's not underpowered at all. The main issue is braking traction in slippery snow. I intend to put Snow tires on it this winter. On a recent Summer road trip we got 24 MPG on the trip with three people in it.
No. 1, The ST can’t tow my grandkids scooter, 2, it sounds like a unicorn farting, 3, THAT pasted on the dash tablet, 4, if I hear those Ford chimes one more time ima going to... 🤯. seriously tho, a very quick car but buy the DD SRT for personality you can live with. The Explorer ST engine planted in a rental car fleet chassis just doesn’t stand out for the money. Go lease a SRT, Helli, BMWxm-shit, forget that, get a Tesla and blow ‘em all away 😂

Great video but did you guys mention the SXT, Citadel, GT models? IF you only talking tow n go, yes the tow n go is only available with the RT AWD ! as far as I know.....
Just wanted to let you know that the tow and go package has what they call the quadra track 4wd.. basically when you are in snow mode or in tow mode it gives you an even 50/50 power split. So technically it is an all-wheel drive Durango that also has four wheel drive. The sport mode is a 35/65 split and track mode is a 30/70 split. To be honest I don't know what normal is.. I'm assuming probably 45/55 or somewhere in their close.
Let me clarify: it may actually be a good car. But because they killed the fiesta ST and the focus ST, anything other than boycotting the ST brand is sacrilege..
Love the video like always my question is does the Hemi lose power in this bc of the altitude were u are I’ve driven the RT Durango seemed quicker bc even though your video when you got on it u could tell the sound was more then the speed lol
Yes. Brake, steering, both pedals, traction/yaw, trans, differential, MDS. Not adjustable like SRT/Helli pages, but IMO, simple 4 buttons (technically 5 = off with default Auto) that have been factory tuned dead on. With hauling 4 gkids in CO, I’ve been impressed with the 21 T&G RT. Cheers.

Explorer ST should be considered an alternative. Sure, it lacks a V8, but so do the Mazda and Acura they compare with. Dodge puts out some strong value propositions, but a base hemi for $66K is as close to a rip off as Dodge has come in a long time.
I rented one for some time and the v6 isn't underpowered at all. At sea level with cold temperatures, you would be getting 7.5 seconds 0-100 kph. That's not slow by any means for this class.
Totally disagree - The MDX and and Mazda CX 9 are NO comparison - The Explorer ST is in the same class.. The CX9 is 4 Cylinder - the MDX with a 6cylinder - but falls WAY SHORT !
Nah, I own a '14 Hemi. Plenty of room to access spark plugs, serpentine belt, and engine accessories like water pump, alternator, ect. Not anything to do before 100K anyway, that is the maintenance interval for the plugs and belt. Only other maintenance item is oil and filter change...both easy.
All the misinformation in this video is laughable. If you are interested in a Durango, don't listen to these two. The R/T isn't the "middle" of the pack. Its tow rating is 7400 pounds, not 8700 pounds (that's the SRT). The 6.4 is not the Hellcat.
The RT is a 5.7, the SRT 392 is a 6.4. The Hellcat is a 6.2 with a supercharger.
And then the rest of the review is totally irrelevant....because they don't even know the very basics.
right in the middle the hellcat lol
