Hi all. i just bought a sprue of Warlord Epic Napoleonic British Light Cavalry at 12mm/13mm what could possibly go wrong painting Hussars at this scale . Regards Gav.
Cheers for the shout Gav,they do paint up rather well what I would do is spray white then add a wash of nuln oil to being out the details,or prime black then dry brush white,yes mate it's the wargames illustrated magazine

They should paint well by the feel of the plastic Cal , Warlord are saying they have plans for other ranges i was hoping for WSS anything with deep cuffs , tricorns and mitres they can be used by so many nations . Regards Gav.
I brush prime black and then dry brush white to lift detail and keep colours bright. They remind me of the old 15’s in size (i.e. true 15mm). After painting I do a thin wash and then only very selective highlighting. Overall, I think they come up rather nicely.
I not a good painter, but I’ve in the past I’ve used black primer on 6mm figures. Halfords grey on 15 mm and Humbrol Matt white on 28mm. To the point the grey primer darkened the colours particularly the Humbrol British uniform red become a dull scarlet/ orange. I would now try a dark red over grey then a brighter brick red.
