Hi, I'm Dan and I'm running the Brighton Marathon for New Note Orchestra, and here's why.
I came to New Note soon after leaving Rehab with the hope of playing my guitar again. It soon became clear that it was a regular, safe place, to meet like minded people, to rebuild and develop my confidence and to hopefully be in a live performance again.
3 years on, many concerts later and now playing the Cello, I confidently speak out about recovery from addiction. I use New Note and our concerts as a positive platform to reduce the stigma and stereotypes that surround someone like me recovering from Addiction and mental health issues.
So can you please give generously to this amazing charity that has helped reshape and reconnect mine and many other lives. To help us to develop this amazing community and future musical performances.

私はダンと申します。今回、ブライトンマラソンに参加するのですがどういう経緯で走ることになったのか、その理由を以下にお話させていただきます。
私が全寮制の依存症更生施設から出た後、再びギターを弾くという希望を持ってニュー・ノート・オーケストラの門をたたきました。すぐに、ニュー・ノートは同じ境遇にいる仲間と会える安全な場所であると共に、自信を取り戻しもう一度人前で演奏する希望が持てる場所であると言うことを確信しました。
3年が経ち、数々のコンサートに参加し現在はチェロを弾いています。そんな私は「依存症について」オープンに語ることができるようになりました。そして、ニュー・ノートと私達が開催するコンサートを、前向きな場所として、また私達のような依存症者へ向けられる周囲からの偏見と先入観をなくすための場所としたいと考えています。
ここでお願いです。私や仲間が依存症から立ち直るきっかけとなっているこの素晴らしいチャリティーのために、あなたのお気持ちをいただけませんでしょうか。そのあなたのお気持ちが、この素晴らしいコミュニティと今後のコンサート運営の力となり、成長していく助けになるのです。
