I don't think I'm being hyperbolic to say that the Pilot is the most exciting blaster that Hasbro has produced in years. And kits like this are exactly what makes it that way. With just the drop-in barrel and no further mods it's hitting over 150, and you don't even have to open the darn thing up. Absolutely fantastic. Also, the range footage on this one turned out particularly well, I think. The way the sun was shining through on the left side really lit up the darts in flight.
Yeah, THIS is the kind of stuff I knew would be dropping for this blaster as soon as I saw Walcom's video on it. Sweet, now I just need the funds, I can't wait :D
I still prefer mine to fire Rival, but I love that the brass barrel is almost effortless to put in (actually a little shocked you didn't try loading 2-3 half-darts). The front add-on piece is a little bit cooler than the one that can hold the stock mount, but at least both barrel tips look pretty sweet.
I can and will do anything over doing what I'm supposed to do. I've started learning programming while watching a small business since there's a lot of time with no one showing up
All I did was put a brass barrell in mine...hitting around 160 average...makes a great lil sidearm...the rest of the kit seems like overkill for a single loader.
Is this the only brass or short dart kit/ barrel that has the hop up tab grove in the barrel? I used the short dart kit from xfox and it scrapped off the hop off tab. His kit also snapped in two from a fall off my computer desk onto carpet. At least it’s a clean snap, and I’m currently salvaging it with some plastic JB weld apoxy. Had to return the old pilot for a new one since the hop up tab was scrapped off. Just want the right kit that has the hop off groove in the barrel so I can switch back and fourth between rival and darts. Preferably one with a screw on suppressor for aesthetically proportions if there even is such a kit 😂
meh doing an inline clip requires a longer protruding barrel after a point you have to ask why am I not just using my DZP MK2? its smaller and holds more rounds at least doing a single shot, but really high fps, is a different niche
@@adriansue8955 actually with the size of the barrel you could do a 4 round inline clip. Also the dzpm2 is great and i own one but again i would love to see someone design a inline clip mod for this blaster. The dzpm2 is also in a league of its own being a more compact pistol.
@@kurtiskeys483 inverse relationship between capacity of clip, and Effective barrel length. the more space you use up for clip, the less you have leftover for barrel. -experimented on mine. to get 150fps you need about 15cm of brass. but the clip section needs 4cm per dart capacity. Overall blaster length starts to get unwieldy. -the tradeoff is: FPS, Capacity, and Size. find a balance point between each characteristic. I understand where franz is coming from, he wanted to prioritize FPS and Size. thus sacrificed capacity. You can of course prioritize Capacity, but then have to sacrifice either FPS, or Size. For my own, I settled on a 2 shot clip at 150fps, overall length about the size of a Kronos. (middle ground)

I JUST got one of these blasters so I put the dartzone revolver spring in it plus the stock spring. Hits like the second shot of the Vaccine

Grab a few kits now and around the holidays the Pilot no doubt will be like 5 or 6 bucks.

now i want a mod kit that makes it into an actual like carbine? like give it a rigid thumbhole stock and extend the barrel maybe some shells etc
It would be pretty easy to add a carbine length barrel - but it'll be for show because IIRC 6" of brass is optimal or close to it.
