      Hey Hey! Thanks for watching! I didn't post specific *brands* because i'm not really telling you what to buy - i'm explaining what you need, and how how to make those gear decisions for yourself, depending on your *specific* needs and what exactly you are looking to do with your gear. You may need a more robust audio interface with more inputs for example, or you may need bigger or smaller monitor speakers depending on your budget and room size, etc. 😀 👊

      You can just plug the headphones into the audio interface.

      @@TimO-wt9sz Hey Hey!
      If you want to record audio into the iPad, you'll want to have an audio interface connected to it. 👍
      I made a video on that specifically which might help: th-cam.com/video/Q1l0hFeH26I/w-d-xo.html
      Depending on your personal recording needs, a lot of people seem to like recording into Cubasis on the iPad.
      It's a full DAW and can do a lot from what i've seen.
      If your new to the world of music with iPad, some great channels to check out are:

    Thank you so much for this Dean. I’m getting my first iPad in a week and was going a little bonkers trying to figure out how to set everything up. Now the secret is revealed. A usb hub. And not very expensive either. Again thanks man. Btw, I’m gonna be getting a couple of those Bram Bos apps. Probably Ruismaker Noir, And Kosmonaut for vocals. And maybe Ripplemaker.
    Sorry I’m getting away from my question I had. Would you recommend any DAWs for me if you don’t mind?
    I will be weening off of GarageBand because we’ll....it doesn’t have 5/4 time. I have Beatmaker 2 but there’s probably better ones. Since I’ll have an iPad soon.
    Here are some I’ve thought about:
    Auria Pro
    Nano Studio 2
    Beatmaker 3
    Cubasis
    And recommend any others you may know about. I’ll be doing a lot of synth stuff, lots of beats and Orchestral music as well with iSymphonic Orchestra if that helps. Thanks again man. Very well done. I subscribed and I’ll also go through your other vids now.

    • @ElectronisoundsAudio
      @ElectronisoundsAudio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's really hard to suggest a DAW - they all have their strengths and weaknesses.
      If you want to work with a lot of loops and samples - BM3 is good.
      If you want a more linear approach, and also want to be able to record a lot of audio to the timeline - Cubasis 2 is good.
      The 5/4 thing is going to give you a headache on iOS imho, sorry.
      I don't have any experience with the others, but you will find loads of info on *ALL* of the iOS DAWS on Jakob's channel or "The Sound Test Room".
      Happy music making! 😀 👊

    Checked out the 7 Port Anker device. And all the reviews said it can’t charge the iPad Pro, the power supply is noisy and gets hot. The whole unit fails with in a few weeks or months. Any other products that would be better. Have you had any problems? Thanks

    • @ElectronisoundsAudio
      @ElectronisoundsAudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't use it to charge the iPad Pro, you need to use the A/C adapter the iPad Pro came with and the proper Apple brand Multi AV adapter with a newer iPad Pro.
      However, the quality of Anker products for me has been nothing but top notch, I have a ton of their products because of this.
      Not one has failed me, I even have THREE of the USB hubs I show here - no issues for YEARS. Since this video was made, in fact !!
      I STILL HAVE THE SAME THREE POWERED ANKER USB HUBS SINCE I MADE THIS VIDEO AND THEY STILL WORK PEFECTLTY! ❤️

      Sorry, I don't actually use either of those DAW's on iOS, i'm more of a Beatmaker 3 DAW guy... th-cam.com/video/07wPL_nuEI4/w-d-xo.html
      That being said, though - I mostly use AUM for live jamming, and not so much incorporating with other software.
      Regardless... 😏
      If you press record on multiple tracks in AUM - it will record the *individual tracks* to wav format and store them automatically inside of AudioShare app (You need to have that app too, for it to work...) Then you can access those individual track recordings, and import them into your DAW of choice for working with, or chopping up into something new, etc. 👍👍

    Good morning sir,
    Thank you a lot for making very clear explanations about how to set an iPad Studio!! I've watched the video several times to be sure to get every information since i'm not a native english speaker.
    I just think I've found the exception that doesn't confirm one thing very interesting you've said "everything is interchangeable". My audio interface is (unfortunately) an alesis multimix 8 USB FX BU to be able to use it, you have to install a driver (on PC and Mac - and the driver does not even work on Mac-) . And there is none for iPad... I will try it though, hoping it will work without any drivers on iPad, hoping every brand does so that everything is interchangeable! Otherwise, I will get a scarlett
    Have a nice day!

    • @ElectronisoundsAudio
      @ElectronisoundsAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, sounds like your audio interface is not "Class Compliant" - Older interfaces will not be.
      Also, your talking about an Alesis MIXER, not an audio interface.
      You need to look for the words "Class Compliant" or "iPad compatible" to be included in the Audio Interface's product description.
      Almost all of the newer audio interfaces are Class Compliant.
      😀 👊

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ElectronisoundsAudio Thanks a lot for your response!! Yes, it is.. and it is supposed to also have an audio interface included, but it's all right, I got it like ten years ago, it would have been a miracle if it had worked correctly with new technology 😂
      I will purchase a scarlett 2i2 to face this issue and be VERY careful to check the words "Class Compliant" and "iPad compatible" !
      Thanks again for both your helpful answer and your video :)

      Hey Hey! I don't really use the iPad this way, and how to rig it / route it will depend specifically on your set up, and what exactly you are trying to do.
      The only thing that is really the same in every situation imho, is that the iPad you want to use as the FX Pedal will need an audio interface with audio input so you can connect the audio out of the device you want to effect. 🤗😁👊

I have the Uno synth and drum, arturia keystep, and the arturia microfreak that I want to connect. Plus I want to be able to track a guitar, bass, and microphone. Do I need an audio import that has enough inputs for everything? Or is there any way I could Daisy chain the hardware and then just remove those when I want to talk the guitar or bass?

    • @ElectronisoundsAudio
      @ElectronisoundsAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Hey, Mark! 😀 👊
      You could either just plug in one thing at a time and track everything individually, one piece at a time -
      OR
      You could upgrade to an audio interface with more inputs so you can track more things individually at the same time -
      OR
      You could choose to plug all of your gear into a mixer and then route one (or more) channels to track in the iPad. However, most mixers are only going to give you *ONE* main output channel - not *individual channels* into your iPad (So you would still have to track things one at a time, just not re-route your cables every time...).
      To do multi-track from a mixer into the iPad, You have to get special *multi-track* over USB mixers that are specifically designed for that kind of thing, and cost a lot more, etc.
      If you are running *AUDIO* cables from the mixer to the iPad for recording into the iPad, you will still need an audio interface connected to the iPad to run the audio cables into.
      Hope that helps! 😀 👊

    • @MarkStrus
      @MarkStrus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ElectronisoundsAudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarkStrus I just have a suggestion for the one to potentially *avoid*... 👊
      I'm not very happy with the one I chose to get for that exact purpose: The Soundcraft MTK Signature 22 mixer. 🤔
      I find that it records an audio level *so low* in volume that I literally cannot work with it.
      I've tried with both iPad and Ableton on PC - same low level audio recordings on both.
      It also does *not* record the EQ or effects into the computer or iPad - the direct channel audio *only* -
      I really wanted to be able to use the onboard EQ and effects to record INTO the iPad - individually, multi-tracked. Nope. 🤔
      After tons of research, I found many other with the same problem of *LOW AUDIO LEVEL* when recording on this mixer, but it was already to late to return mine by that time.
      It works GREAT as just a standard audio mixer - but for multi-track USB recording as advertised? Not really so much....

      GREAT question! And one I get a LOT. Sorry, my friend - no.
      Each iPad would need it's own audio interface.
      If you plug 2 iPads into that same USB Hub, it won't work, sorry!
      To use 2 iPads, both with pro quality audio in and out, I use each with it's own Novation Audio Hub 2x4 as the audio interface.
      (you could use ANY audio interface for either iPad...)
      You then plug BOTH the audio interfaces into a MIXER of some kind and on to your speakers and/or computer from there...
      I really like the Novation Audio Hub 2 x 4 Audio Interface (I have FOUR of them - lol), however - they have their limitations like everything.
      There is no 5pin midi input, and there is no XLR mic input, but you get three built-in USB ports for connecting up your USB midi controllers (like the Novation midi controllers... lol) and they work without needing an extra powered USB hub - you plug it directly into the iPad via the Apple Lightning to USB 3 adapter...
      Hope that makes sense, Bro! 🤗😁👊
