Best Dungeon! demonstration ever. Very cool game! I can play this for hours, I find these types of board games relaxing. Thanks for sharing this extended video.
It's a good game. I was happy to see it's got a solo play option. My only complaint about it is that there is no leveling up, which makes it very hard to take on the higher levels.
@@TabletopJason What is stopping you from making up your own house rules on leveling up? My intention was to create a fantasy game which was accessible for a family to play without having to have a referee. I am happy I was successful. Thank you for the interesting presentation.
@@davidmegarry2125 I'd say more than successful. Dungeon! is one of the most popular and well-known fantasy board games of all time. I've actually toyed around with some house rules for leveling up too. I like that there are way to customize a game like this, without destroying the intent of the designers. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave some feedback.
@@TabletopJason I dont have my original copy any longer but I do believe the characters were Elf Hero Superhero and Wizard. And it did not have any variant rules. And the board artwork was freakin awesome 😌
@@TabletopJason also in the 90s they produced two different versions with different types of characters. And Dungeon Magazine made an expansion for it. Also TSR and RAL PARTHA made a pewter miniature set for the game. I wish I had all that stuff back 🤔
@@jasoncoker1625 Holy cow, I didn't know that. I'll be hitting up ebay to see if I can find that expansion. I always forget that this was originally a TSR game, so the D&D connection was present from the start. At first I thought that Hasbro just branded it D&D for marketing reasons when they purchased Wizards.
the warrior was a great choice of character for this mode of solo play. i can't imagine the rogue or even the cleric managing to win "become the hunted." the wizard might, but even that seems far-fetched--i mean, once you're out of spells, you're in huge trouble against lvl 6 monsters. in any case, this was an interesting and entertaining video. thanks for posting it!
N😂ow that is something that I find interesting and a bonus... multiple games for the same board. I honestly don't think I've ever seen this... and I never heard of this one before. More small cards to make my aging eyes hurt hahaha. Yup you better plan your route(s) before you move your guys. Take that you Gnoll! It's late so I need to hit the hay but I'll let this one roll 100%
Nice work Jason. I really enjoyed how thorough you were with the presentation of the game. Even though you were just playing by yourself, it still looked like a lot of fun. I'd definitely love to get this game and play it.
Good job, but what I think u should have done is gotten a wizard and magic swords ( lvl1,4) cause they help wizard massively. At that point you don't have to worry about the monster as now you can kill lvl 6 monsters with ease.
@@TabletopJason you're right, t.j.; wizards can't use magic swords in dungeon! even if they could, killing lvl 6 monsters "with ease" isn't likely; they're tough in this game.
The dice were against you. I bet even 3 years later you might not have played Hunted mode again. My friend had this and I played so long ago and when I saw it at B & N, I had to get it so I could play it with my kids. I am going to do the solo modes though as I like Board Games and not everyone always likes to play.
I remember seeing this game and also people playing it but I never got my chance. Its great that you revisiting these old games. Very impressive. Are these recently bought games? or your private collection.
A little bit of both. I still have some "How to play" videos from my own games, but I have to keep buying new ones for unboxing. If I ever get to where I have too many, I'll sell some off. Thanks for watching :)
This definitely looks more interesting than the first solo game. I think when things normalise and you can be near people you should do a group play video which would be cool to watch! What is your favourite board game of all time? I think I'd play this with others instead of on my own but I'm definitely tempted to pick it up. Awesome job as always dude 😊 Also I'm pretty sure those cards are about as small as the mini magic cards 😅
Great video thanks! I'll definitely give this a play. I used to play this in the early 90s and have recently bought it again. Have you played the game Dungeon Roll? I'd love to see you do a review play through. Just subscribed
This game seems really good for a solo dungeon-crawling adventure, but I absolutely hate the artwork (especially compared to earlier versions). I really hope they bring out a new version with less cartoony artwork in the future.
I tend to agree on the artwork. I think this game could gain a lot by being darker and grittier. It could be really cool with a 1st or 2nd edition D&D style of fantasy. Thanks for watching.
Tabletop Jason haha I bet it was. I have never played this game before or anything like it. But I did just buy a copy of this. So I really enjoyed the play through and I’m gonna give it a solo play tonight.
@@TabletopJason , To access the more rooms beyond the chamber wouldn't it be more advantageous to just stop at the space closest to the chamber instead of using all your maximum (5) spaces? Then on the next move, progress forward? Or is there something I'm not understanding here?
I think you only suppossed to fight 1 monster each time not all 3 aat once and after 3 monsters are defeated the chamber is empty. That's how I remember it.
tries to find a bag of gold normally, nothing. tries to find a sword to save life, finds gold T_T Also, I suck at rolling die, many a D&D death to prove it
@@TabletopJason I played the treasure hunt mode and one in 10 seconds. The treasure I needed was on top of the deck. This hunted one is ridiculously stupid.

Great video...even though I think the "house rule" of rolling for movement would making it even more challenging!👍
I agree. When I play with my kids, we roll for movement.

I like how you're demonstrating the game!! And I agree with another comment that it would be fun to see you play with other people
I should try to convince my kids to do a demo with me sometime. Thanks for watching!
Another treasure hunt. Thanks for sharing👍.
I'm surprised by how well this game works in solo mode. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! Sometimes it's fun playing a game solo, even when it's as frustrating as this one was :)
This was my very first boardgame I bought in the 80s. It's till my favorite.
How do the older versions hold up compared to the current? Are they all exactly the same?

My favorite part of this video was the two to five turns you played as the monster!
Heh heh. Thanks for watching!
This was good, watched it to the end..lol now ill be trying it out. Thanks for sharing and it watch another if you made another solo vid of Dungeon.

Thanks for doing this playthrough. I just bought this game and I'm using the mechanics of this game but on a larger dungeon battle mat.
That's pretty cool. Thanks for watching!
Dropping a random treasure card after a successful monster attack is a good game mechanic but I remember being able to choose the treasure card(s).
Hm. Wouldn't being able to choose make it too easy? Just pick the ones with the highest value? Or am I misunderstanding what you're saying?
@@TabletopJason I took any as being able to choose. It is any card and if the monster gets good rolls your character would be depleted anyway.
The rulebook says it is random but to each their own

I don't think you have to stop in rooms you've already clerared? some of the rooms connect to each other.
Good question. I wouldn't think so either, but the instructions aren't clear.
I've just discovered solo games & thinking of buying this from ebay. Is Become the Hunted still good for solo?
It's pretty fun but difficult. Check out my playthrough list for some of the other solo play options.
Treasure hunt get that damn loot
While running away from the nasty monster! Fun times.
Was there a sneaky cut scene before your third fight against the werewolf? 😂

Why would anyone ever go fight in a chamber? What advantages is there?
No advantage and I hate the fact that it doesn't give you treasures. Problem is there are times you have to go through chambers to get to more rooms.
