I am not surprised at there being some ignorant comments about this. For those that slam owning a Can Am and call them a “pos” and “lawnmowers” never experienced a physical disability after riding for over 25 years. Thanks for mentioning it and riders with disabilities still getting out there. Everyone needs to remember: it’s not about the wheels under you but the handlebars in front of you. Ride safe all. And some, be more tolerant and open to things and people that are different from you.
And there are some of us that just love them! Moped/Trike/Bike/OpenAir/SportBike/Cruiser - all get respect and a wave from me! And, if its NOT a motorcycle or a bike, why 99.9% of the compliments said nice Bike/Motorcycle?
I can see disability being the only reason to own this snowmobile on wheels. Who else do they appeal to though? Besides disabled or people who just like the look
The Gimpy Garage you are so right. What's wrong with some people? Where's their sense of fun? This looks like fun. My motorcyclist father is now disabled. He can no longer ride motorcycles. He now lives for his 8 mph electric buggy. He loves it. Life is short. Would have loved to take him out on one of these 3 wheelers but sadly he wouldn't be able to get on the back. I know some people have no experience and little empathy with people with injuries or disabilities but these vehicles could allow someone to continue riding once a motorcycle gets too unmanageable for them. I like them because they are different.
I may have responded to this video before, but watching today and just wanted to say thanks! I bought my Can Am approximately 3rd week of April. It's near the end of June & I've done over 2000 miles on it. Love it! Still have wind in my hair, warmth of the sun on me. Whether people people think it is a bike, trike (tryke) or not, it is my bike and I'm not sorry at all I went this direction! & I've had 2- 2 wheel bikes prior to it. I've had my (2 wheel) motorcycle license for about 6 years. Anyway, thanks for the positive press on these. I've found so far that the people that actually have them, really love them. I know I do! & Even greater thanks for speaking about Him out loud! :)

I just sold mine last month. It is like a snowmobile for the street. They are very fast but, the enjoyment you get is different than from a motorcycle.
Wife and I owned a couple of these years ago. Fun rides. Not a motorcycle replacement, no more than a 4-wheeler is a replacement for a dirt bike. But it's a different ride altogether. Doesn't matter that it doesn't lean into turns, and requires "less skill". There is a place, time, and person these are for. I switched back to 2 wheels personally, but my wife is considering getting another spyder. Even though she can ride motorcycles no problem, I think she just feels a bit safer on 3 wheels. More power to her! If it gets her out riding, that's more than I can ask for! :)
Great vid Shaun, thanks for sharing. Love these Can Ams. I have been ridding bikes all my life. My 1st experience was on a old Cushman Scooter when I was little kid in the 60’s. What a blast, I was hooked. My brother invented the 1st 3 wheeler way before Honda came out with the ATC’s. He welded a old rototiller to the front frame of an old bike and there you have it. The slowest 3 wheeler around. LOL, but it was cool. I had a major stroke a few years back that robbed me of my balance. Thank God I survived. God was really watching after me. Thank you Lord.🙏🏻 There we’re some/many in my rehab classes that didn’t fair so well. Many of them were as much as 30+ years younger than I and they didn’t recover as well as I did. I would have a BLAST one one of these and I wouldn't give a tinkers damn what anyone's thoughts or opinions are. Fun , freedom and the feeling is PERFECTION!
If I was selling a reverse trike, one of the benefits I'd mention comparing it to a conventional trike is being able to see the widest part of the bike. It makes it easier and safer to navigate around obstacles. You might also mention the effect of weight transfer during breaking, and how a reverse trike becomes more stable under heavy braking whereas a conventional trike becomes less stable. In a panic stop / accident avoidance scenario, you enjoy a distinct advantage on a reverse trike compared to a conventional trike.
I had a major stroke 4 years ago. Recovered better than most but my balance never came back to 100%! I have ridden bikes/motorcycles my whole life. But even ridding a bike can be difficult now due to the balance issue. I drive for a living about 250 miles a day and receive safety awards every year! I think. The Can Am would be perfect for me! They are a bit pricey though for a bike (3wheeler) that I would only ride 3 to 4 months out of the year. I live in the Midwest but have never been a fan of the cold. Been ridding motorcycles for over 35 years on the street but after the tempura drops below 50 by bikes were always put up for the winter! Just dreaming rite now, but hummm!
I have always liked the look. At 62, my Goldwing is getting heavy, so I have scheduled a Spyder riding class for May and will be buying one if I like my riding experience. I really don't care what the nay-sayers think.
first video about these things I've seen. I dunno...the joy of motorcycling (for me) is the two-wheel lean and the traditional manual motorcycle experience...clutch feathering, light trails, curb hopping, occasional wheelie...can't see this providing the same joy. That being said...I am old, and just because these are different from motorcycles doesn't mean they can't be fun for other people. Two wheels down.
It's definitely NOT a motorcycle but who cares? If someone enjoys it, more power to them. If I was rich, I'd have one in addition to my motorcycles for sure.
Actually... it IS a motorCYCLE... however, it ain't a motorBIke. Cycles are 2 wheels (bicycle), 3 wheels (tricycle) and even 4 wheels (quadricycle). So, the Spyder, Ryker and R3 ARE MOTOR_CYCLES... but they are "trikes", not "bikes". And more correctly they are reverse-trike motorcycles. Is not that complicated...
I own a 2012 RS model and I like the look of the Harley Trike better but the ride of the can am is exceptionally smooth comparatively. They are not slow for having 3 wheels on the ground. I can easily ride 100 plus mph and it is still smooth. I don't need to go faster than that nor do I want to.
Been on two wheels for a couple years but I’ve always found these interesting and would love to test one. I’d definitely go for one of these over a touring bike. Personally I hate riding with a passenger but this I could like.
If this is a good option for people with disabilities, I am all for it. For me personally I would rather go for a two-seat convertible car. With the car you trade some of the open road feel for more safety, comfort, performance, and utility. But if riding the Can Am makes you happy, God bless you!
On the Australia front: bro, if you think nothing good comes from there, you've gotta check out their hot rod scene. Them boys out there got some WILD builds
I think this would be a great secondary vehicle to take with you on an extended RV trip. No need to tow a car. Put one of these on a lift, park the motorhome and have the freedom of another way to get around.
Here in New Zealand you can also ride/drive it on a car licence... we don't have snowmobiles soooo... not sure what it is classed as.. probably a motorcycle ....
Dude- they are a blast. Let the haters hate.. I have a 2012 manual though. Far from slow.. And a fun comfortable ride. I am 6'2 and 32 yrs old.. They all aren't old men bikes lol
They did not offer hand brake in part because of the ABS system. People were used to ABS system activation (buzzing pedal) on the foot braking. But they found in initial testing of prototypes, ..... even test drivers, when the hand brake buzzed, it startles people and they reduced brake pressure or removed their hand all together. Great video. How is it, that dirt bikes riders, atv riders, side by side riders etc all appreciate each other's rides while out on the trails with no smack talk - yet hit the pavement and the clique is strong? How about do what you want, ride what you like and just cruise?

I owned the exact same model except for the push button shift. It was slow, I couldn't outrun a Honda 4 door pickup. I was not comfortable in aggressive cornering. I felt like it wanted to toss me off the bike instead of leaning with it. The only thing I liked about it was the neon green color. It would be fine for someone who is physically challenged ..... I sold it a year later. Your experience may differ.
The Gimpy Garage Thanks, a close friend has the 3 cylinder touring model. The low speed stability has allowed him to keep riding at 84 years old. He's happy just to be riding, cornering and acceleration is not his concern.
Very tired of daredevil bikers roaring around, weaving in and out of traffic just to prove how fast they can go. Spent years working in Emergency Rooms and saw lots of horribly banged up bikers and some dead ones as well. Never a pretty sight. Maybe people who are riding the slower and more stable Spyders are smarter than you.
Gavin DuBois Maybe, but I owned a Suzuki dealership, and I've personally owned GSXR 750- 1100's, V-Maxes, helped sponsor a world class endurance racing team, Team Hammer. I've drag raced a GS1150 for fun....but I'm always willing to learn. Gavin, please try a Spyder out and let me know what you think.
So I literally just bought a 2008 canam Spyder. I've been wanting one for a while. The reason I don't own a 2 wheel motorcycle is because I have a metal plate in my leg and can't hold up a motorcycle, especially if my wife wants to ride 2 up. The Spyder is much better for me. And like Sean said in the video, the registration says motorcycle on it.
Just wanted to say how much I like ur vids, i cant get on board with the can am machines it seems like a snowmobile with wheels... Sure there fun to go buzz around for bit but na.... Im 45 got my first DB at 9 (1980 yamaha mx 80! Woohoo lol) always had fast DBs and atvs my whole life got my first harley at 16 sold my last harley a hopped up 1980 fxlr 10 years as so ago, still have a cb650c of my dads its on way to be a hardtail bobber after 20 years of storage since he passed in 98, but i think i may have grown out of being a harley snob an thinking maby Street fighter style bike, never tried a super sports but they seem prob to uncomfortable at my age to ride for any amount of time to me and i like having a licence, i want something fast comfortable reliable and FUN that doesnt turn my hands numb... Harley cruisers are just fatiguing to ride any distance im my opinion plus theres so many compromises to go fast like comfort and expense, At the moment im thinking any year FZ-09... They are priced right and look like a blast to ride but good enough ridablity and manors for crusing. I was thinking maby a buell kb12 streetfighter, there the best compromise for harley rider and nice examples are dirt cheap up here in maine like $3000 to $4000 but im around 6' 1" and they seem so tiny...never sat on 1 but seem so small. Anywho keep up great vids! Ride safe...
OK can't believe I'm saying this because I love the VMAX so much, but that CAN AM is just awsome you might have just sold the idea of getting one of thoughs instead of the VMAX in getting mr back to riding again. That machine is really fantastic. Thanks for the test drive info very good video you sold me Can Am it is, now got to figure out how to pay for one, well better start saving. My wife is going to be extremely angry with my decision, I'm blaming it on you lol
Pretty much everyone I see on these is someone who probably used to ride a motorcycle but is too old/arthritic to ride a motorcycle anymore. Not a bad option to keep something motorcycle-like if you aren't able to ride a motorcycle anymore.
You can take turns pretty good but riding 2up it can feel like it will tip and I’m riding on the back with my mother in control of it and she has been riding sport bikes for 26 years
A few years ago I had such a deep inner-ear problem that riding a bike would have been dangerous. Once while pumping gas into my truck I looked up at the awning above the pumps for some reason. Once I brought my head down to normal the world tipped 45 degrees and I fell to the ground. Girls working the gas desk ran outside to me. There are conditions , even temporary that would not mix with riding. Balance controlled by your inner ear.
I ride several different bikes. I always wave. Harley riders are the worst about not waving to anything but other harleys. I actually continue to wave regardless, but I ride my harley alot less. Thought about selling two of my current bikes for another harley. I've decided to get a vtx1800 instead.
I am new to your channel, and the cycle world. I love that you include a scripture with each video! I do not feel comfortable riding a 2 wheel motorcycle and never want to. But would consider a three wheeled cycle. My friend and his dealership has offered me to buy a 2012 can am spyder rss rotax990 with only 2k miles on it. Price $6,500. The total with taxes and fees would be around $7,775. Is that a good deal?
He needs to keep the rpms up higher when riding. The rotax 990 series engines love the higher rpms. The power band does not really start good until around 4000 rpm. They will run all day happily at say 5500 rpm. Alot of people dont realize this and up shift to soon and or ride in to high of a gear for the speed they going. Lugging this engine at to low rpm is murder on it.
To me, the experience feels no different than riding a 4 wheeled ATV. 4 wheeled ATVs are cheaper too. Motorcycling is all about leaning. If you're not leaning, you're not motorcycling.
I'm 47 and my knees are toast (bone on bone, no cartilage) from so many years of 3 sports and also 80s constant three wheeler and quad riding and jumps, def had a few trikes roll on me as a kid, lol. I'm thinking a can-am spyder would be perfect for me with the extra stability and no need to put feet down at intersections and stops. does that make sense? are they good for passenger like wife or daughter with sissy bar/backrest for scared women passengers, haha?
Well I love my snowmobiles even more than my motorcycle. Something about 150 plus HP offroad in the woods just feels so fast. But this on the road I don't know it my a blast.

I think it will be an option for me when I can no longer hold one up. I'd be afraid (at my age) to shift from one type of driving style to another.
It's like riding a fast quad on the road with street tires
the apprentice 1996 probably better because it has a wider track width and longer wheelbase
Nice bike👍
Def want to build this trike with 80kw, it’d be so nice with LED lighting and custom fiberglass plastics with subwoofers
Ty looking to get 1 for myself and wife. Good info and video
They do tip over very easily. If the ground is a tad uneven and you are turning or reversing.
Pretty much everyone I see on these is someone who probably used to ride a motorcycle but is too old/arthritic to ride a motorcycle anymore. Not a bad option to keep something motorcycle-like if you aren't able to ride a motorcycle anymore.
You're never too old to ride. What if I rig a bike with a sidecar? That kind of riding takes a special skill.
“...the problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem”
Capt. J Sparrow
What’s up guys, sounded just like “Hey guys, CHRIS FIX HERE !”
I’d like to try one. I have a tadpole trike bike version I like and I’ve ridden a 4 wheel ATV in Costa Rica which to me seems similar
I came out of Australia and im very good.
“I tried to 3 wheel the thing” bro the whole vehicle is a three wheeler
You can take turns pretty good but riding 2up it can feel like it will tip and I’m riding on the back with my mother in control of it and she has been riding sport bikes for 26 years
I love those motocycles.
Crocodile Dundee put Australia on the map.
Love it would like to get one.
God bless you man
I am disabled and had to sell my Harley. So this is great for disabled people!!!
I just stumbled on your video and subscribed purely for the scripture verse. Also, love the Spyder. Thinking about getting one. Great job, God bless.
I’m surprised he didn’t mention the Can-am spyders with a manual transmission or at least do an update video about it
I ride several different bikes. I always wave. Harley riders are the worst about not waving to anything but other harleys. I actually continue to wave regardless, but I ride my harley alot less. Thought about selling two of my current bikes for another harley. I've decided to get a vtx1800 instead.
Alot of good thing come out of Australia. Hay why don't you come over here find out
Shaun S lol ahhhh I was just kidding, it does sounds like an awesome to visit
Srkcycles. all good Shaun I live in Australia and watch you're videos bikes and beards and srk Cycles videos
Shaun S. OK, well done... this matter has been dealt with. Just as bloody well.
Thanks dude great video
That verse on contentment is exactly the opposite of why I’m here! 😮
Taipei & Mong Kok! Can-Am! Camera!
Love it would like to have it.
True these engines love the rev. I put a PedalBox and Baja Ron Sway Bar on mine. That cures the power band issue and the Baja keeps you in your lane.
Great video when i turn corners i lean to the inside of the turn if that helps
I love ❤️ that scripture are you a preacher I hear the love 💕 of god in you
you got a video on how to use the tank straps on a can am spyder? don't wanna tie down in wrong location.
awesome video
Great vid ! Are you using a go pro for this video ?? How is the audio so crisp ?
hey at tge end of the day what ever makes you happy ride on
Man I want one all my friends got rykers
Would you get a basket installed in the front?
To me, the experience feels no different than riding a 4 wheeled ATV. 4 wheeled ATVs are cheaper too. Motorcycling is all about leaning. If you're not leaning, you're not motorcycling.
Mr. Solitude I don’t know I see a lot of bikes and the way the tires are worn there’s a lot guys out there who are not leaning at all
You see a lot more bikes than I do, my main man Sean, so I'm happy to take your word for it. As for me, I love them chicken strips. :)
Mr. Solitude you can’t ride ATVS on the road legally
Roger that. So if you want to have the experience of riding an ATV on a street, acquiring a Can Am would be the ticket.
Winter time 🥶🥶🥶🥶
I owned a 2008 SE. I ride 117,000kms without majors problèmes. Now, I owne à RT ltd with 77,000kms without any problem.
I own 2011 spyder, and a kawi 650. 650 is way more comfortable, and easier to ride.
You forgot that Crocodile Dundee also came out of Australia.
Amen

2:22 Some people think 3 wheelers tip over?! 😳
THREE WHEELS.. 3... REALLY?!?! ......REEEAAAALLLLYYY?!?? ....WOOOOOW! 🤦🏻♀️
I think this may be the first dropped verse I have seen... lol!
It's a car or motorcycle in the UK I think. Holiday hire bike on the Mediterranean
good versicle, money, we all love money but its the Lord who keeps us going everyday
I really love how you start with Bible verses. God bless you mate.
It's almost like you're driving a car instead of a motorcycle but the stability would be there I suppose
They did also give the world the rotary washing line.
Which place is that bro... Its beautiful.....
Sniffff *smack

NO COUNTERSTEER....BUT LOTS OF FUN...
I've had few bikes..Harleys blah..blah..blah..next step CAN AM RT SPYDER LIMITED...the way to go..
It’s a snowmobile on wheels for the streets. It’s not a bike. Bi means 2. Not the same experience. Not even close.
Well I love my snowmobiles even more than my motorcycle. Something about 150 plus HP offroad in the woods just feels so fast. But this on the road I don't know it my a blast.
I wish they’d use this automatic in the Ryker as well, instead of that awful CVT.
