      I think it's her lack of hyper vigilance when water was close by. Some people just dont see danger & live in their own little bubble. Toddlers are super fast & you can't take your eyes off them & "assume", as she says she did. Just last week in rush hour on the Tube in London, i saw a Mom letting a child prob 18months old stagger along alone in the crowd while she dawdled a long ways behind with the buggy. Accident waiting to happen.

      @@MC.1990everyone grief is not the same unless you’ve lost your child you have no reason to be judging someone off a video. Our bodies do weird things to cope just like being in a fight or flight mode. Anything can happen anywhere at anytime. Don’t ever think something similar couldn’t happen to you nobody is perfect scroll on if you can’t have empathy.

    Very much agree with the floaty. Our son was in a life jacket playing with other kids jumping in the deep end, his dad and I were sitting on the edge. We took it off to eat lunch and within minutes he forgot and jumped in without the life jacket. Thank God we were paying attention, my husband came running and jumped across the pool to grab him. It was under a minute and was terrifying. I am so sorry you had to go through this.

    I think this is also a reminder that social situations can be incredibly distracting.
    My son fell off the sofa recently, I just scratched my skin for a few seconds. He's fine but I'm more paranoid about his safety than ever.
    My mom told me how she and her siblings grew up essentially unsupervised most of the time and how it's a miracle they're still alive.
    But even in our times when we are super aware of safety - it always takes luck to survive. You can fall and go unscathed or have bad luck and break your neck just because of a slighly different angle...
    So much more should be done about the safety of pools, however. Not only humans but many animals drown in them all the time. How horrible.

    It’s very different to loosing a child. But the dreamlike state she describes is something I’ve been through quite recently. I awake at 2.30 am in the morning. Surrounded by fire. I’d woken to a fully involved house fire. 6 hours after purchasing it. An electrical fault. Lost everything except our lives. Thankfully my daughter was on a sleepover. My housemate was out. All the animals survived somehow. Nothing else did. I woke up 4 days later in the intensive care burns unit.
    From the moment I awoke that night. It just didn’t feel real. I was waiting to wake up.
    What do you mean my house burnt down 6 hours after purchasing it. That can’t be right.
    I woke from a dead sleep. To being surrounded by an inferno. This has to be a nightmare.
    3 months on I still have that feeling come over me. Where I’m waiting to wake up.
    Over to next 3 weeks all of my cats and dog were located in various different places.
    All the living things survived, a miracle. ❤

    I had thought when I learned of this accident. Obviously so tragic and sad. I’m thinking people should have their toddlers on a leash when around a pool. It sounds so simple, yet I believe it could prevent these tragedies. I’m not here to judge, just to say I’m so sorry.

  • @sarwall_
    @sarwall_ 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The judgement people in these comments have is truly sad. In response to her lack of emotion; what would you all like her to act like? Should she be a sobbing mess every podcast that she does? Should she never be allowed to smile or experience joy ever again and just end it all? Life is a LEARNING experience, and to be resilient and transform such a horrific tragedy into something positive in any way is how to learn and grow from the experience.
    I lost my little brother in a tragic accident and my best friend was “unalived” with her boyfriend on my street, both within 5 months of each other. I relate so much to the dreamlike state she talks about. I too feel completely numb to the emotions and definitely agree it’s some sort of trauma response your brain creates in order to protect you. Like she said, it comes out in waves and when it does the pain is unimaginable. You also have no idea what the appropriate way to communicate with others is anymore. When you’re overly emotional and upset it makes people extremely uncomfortable, when you’re happy and make light of the subject in order to not make other people uncomfortable, it comes off as cold and detached. There is no right way to grieve. Create more space for empathy in your heart, rather than judgement for a life experience that you know NOTHING about.
    As for her and her ex splitting, grief puts a wedge in your relationship like nothing else can. I think most men have a tendency to run and avoid their feelings and end up making their partners subsequently feel abandoned in their grief, and I went through that experience exactly/still am currently with my husband. Women tend to lean in and have a massive spiritual transformation and healing process and it creates a massive disconnect and shines light on already existent issues you’ve had in your relationship that you may just not have noticed. You essentially transform into two completely different people with different outlooks on life, I’d imagine it’s pretty rare for a couple to heal parallel and not have a falling out. The key is to have empathy for your partner and not resentment for what your own needs are not being met, you’re both two completely different people going through a horrific and painful experience. Communication is absolutely the key.

    Im so so so grateful for you that you weren’t hit with 100% of that gief but instead as life goes forward you are met daily with whats bareable not only to be alive or just exist but to feel ok and happy and the need to still thrive! I 100% think it is your body protecting you but what’s awesome about that is it’s not in a denial place. The interviewer mentioned simulation and how it can become dark and that’s when it gets to be a bad place . Well if you’re experiencing full on grief in pain, it’s bound to get there .You’re not numb to the grief or pushing it down, delaying the process,. Your self-aware you’re still still grieving, but Romeo and God decided that you were not to go through debilitating, negative life altering overwhelming lasting pain. Wow. Cool

    • @scaredsinger0808
      @scaredsinger0808 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, I wish that this is what grief looked like. A painful but bearable process with windows of extreme agony, but it doesn’t last long enough to extremely impact your life negatively. IMO , its necessary to detach enough from such a debit stating experience to be able to advocate help educate or do something extremely positive with the knowledge you’ve gained . People have a way of judging others for looking numb or not emotional enough. The reason we are able to be in a state of denial is because sometimes we need to be there !!! Denial in your body going into states of numbness or detachment is its way of knowing that you are unable to mentally and physically process what’s happening at that moment or time, or period of life . eventually you come out of those states and are able to feel however Nothing absolutely nothing positive comes from overwhelming devastation. . if one needs to do what they need to do to move forward actually live use these tools. We have been given for this very reason. There is nothing This is amazing.

    That poor 2 1/2 year old imo could've been prevented if the mother never took her eyes off that baby! 2 1/2 🤐 not for a second...Rest in Paradise 🕊💔

      Why the need to victim blame? Don't you think she lives with that every day?? I doubt she wants to come here to see her video and see a bunch of comments blaming her. Shame on you.. Do better...

      I agree as lots of us near water are super observant and I would never stand around talking not watching my child near a pool

      This. I can't imagine not watching my 3 year old for even a second. This is sad. You know there is a pool there. You know he can't swim. You know. And you still make that choice to sit down, look away, talk to your friend.

    Total low blow with the LDS remark. What a dumb thing to say seriously. I’ve been a Latter Day Saint most of my life and have lived through so many tragedies and so has my family and we definitely believe in the healing aspect within. Not even sure how to even articulate how stupid of a remark that was, so far from the truth actually. We believe in the power of Priesthood blessings which we know we have the power from heaven to heal and be healed. We believe in our Savior Jesus Christ and that HE is the Great Healer and we devote our lives to Him and to our loving Heavenly Father. The gospel has literally saved my life so many times because it has taught me the most about who I am and that I know I am heard and loved and in that I am already healed before I even go to Him in prayer.

    John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".
    As the evangelical Christian that I am, i believe that the children that passed are with God and they are happy. They are not on this earth. Please becareful to not fall in those New Age believeths which will not bring you to near to God in Jesus Christ.😢❤

    Bottom line… this could happen to anyone. Doesn’t make us bad parents. Sometimes things just happen. We cannot judge something we have never been through. Period!!!
