    I love how Dave is riffling those tiles like a boss and nobody is even batting an eye at how amazing it is.

    35:50 that was 3 houses (2,4),(4,3),(4,4) so 15 points for Agra in houses for a total of 56 not that it would change anything

    Is no one else going to mention the hilarious moment in the intro? Aaron pointed to Nikki as being Lincoln and pointed to Lincoln and said Nikki. The best part was Lincoln noticed and was laughing, but no one else caught on!!

    I'm a bit late to this one, but it looks light and fun.
    It seems to make a difference how you're seated though. The decisions seemed to be concentrated between the 2 people sitting next to each other. The relationship across the table feels like an afterthought.
    Did you sense that during the game?

    I love that you had the same discussion about the different scoring tracks. I've been back and forth on how I feel about it. Glad Stonemaier decided to include both versions. I love the drafting mechanism combined with the partnership because it means you know what you're handing your partner which informs your decision of what to pick on your turn. And Dave nailed my issue with 7 Wonders -- I feel so disconnected from the other players.

    I bought this game after watching you all play it during the live stream. I love it!
    One tip for parks, though. The optimal layout for parks is to have two-tile parks. For example, Aaron and Nikki had 4 park tiles in their city. Had they not gone for sets of three and instead went for pairs, they would have had 16 points. Instead of 13. Only 3 points, but also think of how it could have changed their layout and they could have avoided their flub during their last turn, scoring them even more points. I believe it mentions this tip in the rule book, too.

    I had the exact same thought that the score board should snake. The 10's lining up is nice, but snaking would've helped avoid easy mistakes.

    35:44 during scoring there where 2 house counted but aren't there 3 in your city ?

    Interesting... When we play this we discuss what our partners would have us draft before selecting. Is that incorrect then? I feel it adds a different dynamic but not sure if better or worse!

    17:15: why not a shop near a factory? Moreover, it's not the better idea to put three parks together at the beginning of the game because if you find the fourth you get only 13 or 14 points, while if you make two gropus of two you get 16! At 20:34: that position was good to try this strategy, I don't understand why you didn't confirm that position. You're not very good at this game.

    The strategy is really great in this game. Do you pass a tile knowing that your 'partner' will take it for your city or do you take it so they don't put it in their other city.

    this game seems like a weird semi cooperative version of dominoes with some overly complicated scoring system

    As for potential points, my analysis shows that the best a player can do is 2 parks, 6 offices, and 2 sets of taverns for 69 points (8+27+17+17).
    Using houses, the best I can design is 2 parks, 4 taverns, 1 office, 1 shop, 1 factory and 7 houses for 66(68) points, depending on the factory value (8+17+2+2+2(4)+35). Two factories has a value range of 63-67, and three factories ranges 60-66.
    Maximum points per tile are 5 (house), 4.5 (6 offices with bonuses), 4.25 (all four taverns), and 4 (other three types). Duplexes do not have office-tavern pairs, nor two-of-the-same.
    If you can find any other legal arrangement that exceeds 69, let me know what I've missed.

      +Andrew Hamilton but that in a way is redundant as you score for the 2nd best and not the best

    • @SirJerric
      @SirJerric 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +dante ferno - True. I mostly provided this because they mentioned maximum scoring in the Post-game discussion. But in an extremely absurd circumstance, there are enough tiles to make two of these 69 point cities. The duplexes are too limited for three.

    • @xragg
      @xragg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Andrew Hamilton 6 offices (27), 4 taverns (17), 4 shops (16), 2 parks (8)= 68 is max as you don't score off a second set of taverns.

    There’s a lot of similar games but idk what to get first. Alhambra, castle ludwig, palace Ludwig, between castles or this one. I don’t own any yet but any suggestions?
