Enjoyed the performance - Very different and I had not heard of this music earlier. Very therapeutic and soulful. Nice rendering. Thanks to you and your accompanying artist. Enjoyed it. The only short fall was it ended quick ! I believe it's a short piece.

According to the shastras, correct me if I’m wrong, there are suddha, chalayalag, sankirna and ati sankirna ragas. These classifications were made according to the spans of ragas. I’m not going to treat all ragas the same way.

It’s the komal Ga that you are picking up that’s making you feel that. :) It’s very prominent in Shivaranjini. Another song that looks like an interpretation of Shivaranjali quite in-the-face is “Mere Naina Sawan Bhado”. It’s very nice to see contemporary songs giving an outlet for our understanding of ragas. I personally love looking for Raga inspiration in AR Rehman songs, he does that quite often :)
