Totally agree with you there. His partnership with Eider was electric. We were unlucky around that time with so many injuries. You can rate Jimmy alongside Drogba as a Chelsea legend in my opinion.
He won the charity shield in 2000 bless him thats all. Runners up medal in 2001-02. Excellent partnership with Eidur, they knew where each other would be on the pitch and worked well together.
Poyet was class like lampard, scored alot of goals from midfield. From 97 onwards chels been on the up, thats b4 roman turned up in 2003. Made europe again. Jimmy floyd won golden boot that season.
This was the season that the absolute bargain buy Winston Bogarde arrived. Worth every penny and must surely rank as one of the greatest signings in premier league history.
+kflem80 Chelsea were a big club 3 years before that in 1997, they finished 3rd in the league in 1998/99 and played in the 1999/00 champions league so they were a big club year before the Premier League title wins. By your logic Liverpool are not a big club since they have never won a Premier League.

I've been a Chelsea supporter all my life but stopped going in 1995. The reason for this is I don't like the Premier league. When I was regularly going in the 80's I would often manage between 35-40 games a season which includes quite a few seasons in the 2nd division. Places like Cambridge, Oxford, Carlisle, Hull, Derby (when it was a sand pit, a bit like our pitch ) Oldham and Coventry but to name a few. It was a proper day out on a Saturday at 3 o'clock. Not a friday or monday night or even a Sunday . Since the premier league started and all grounds well all seater I lost interest so I now go to Gillingham who are the nearest league team to my place of birth. It's more old school down in league 1. You could say I'm the total opposite of a "Glory Hunter". It annoys me seeing tourists and socialites at the ground now with their half and half scarves. Football nowadays has priced out the proper fans and it's no longer a working man's game. All this money from Sky and foreign players has ruined football at the highest level in my opinion. If someone offered me a ticket to watch Chelsea now I'd politely decline and ask for a ticket to watch The Gills. Atleast they normally kick off at the proper time of 3pm. Also the singing is better and a good atmosphere is created. Yes I watch Match of The Day for the highlights but that's as far a s I go with regards to the premier league.
One of the best times to support Chelsea we were an excellent team and the glory fans hadn’t arrived
we finished 6th that season, it wasn't that excellent
It's such a shame Jimmy Floyd never got to win a trophy with us. Up there with our best strikers of all time, what a player!

People forget that before Abramovich game we finished in the top 6 for 6 seasons. So we was getting there, just needed that final touch.
What a legend Desailly was.
the season i started admiring and support chelsea as a kid, always blue
And ?

Before all the bandwagon fans when it was much better , people nowadays wouldn’t of coped supporting us back then they haven’t got a clue pre 2003
Personally I really like the pre Abramovich Chelsea.
@@HasibRaiyan same
Bloody hell..how many times did we hit the post that season??? Must be some sort of record.
Hasselbaink was a beast on this seasson
Thans for this vid - love it. Good, olde times, despite winning nothing away from the Bridge.
44:46 Wisey "Ed, catch the fucking ball" 😂
Despite having captained United , Keane was so rough. And it was very familiar that u see him harvesting those coloured cards every match.
Hasselbank’s goals!!!

It got blocked. But he could try again. Try changing the speed, pitch or image of the video, to get around copyright.
