Reminds me of when I was too young to play games well and would pester my dad to play and beat the DoS game Rooms of Doom (or Dangerous Dave and the haunted mansion). The game was too complex and scary for me but I liked the thrill of watching my dad overcome those pixel monsters
it's June 2038, 20 years have passed. TH-cam is but a barren landscape, only one creator remains, rising from the ashes every year. It's Grandaddy Caddy and his Cash Banooca month.
2:08 You know what was a huge part of my childhood, besides Crash Bandicoot? Thomas the Tank Engine. Bless you Caddy. Bless you and the whole merry month of June. My birthday is the day after yours (June 20).
Smudger might actually be my favorite one off character for absolutely no reason other than I guess his design is cool. He’s literally just a green Rheneas that’s as cocky as Duncan and has an over exaggerated American Accent. And yet I’m just so fascinated by him. Anyway, yes, good Cash Banooca video, very much worth my time as it has so greatly enriched my life ever so slightly. (I’ve just loved Thomas ever since I was a young one of about 5 or so, so whenever you bring it up, I just can’t help myself).
The exact same think you said about crash is how I feel about spyro, it's such an influential game to me and it's really important to me so having it be completely remastered after being a dead franchise for years and years made me so happy I nearly cried
I’m a teen, and discovered crash by crash 4. Loved it, and tried completing it at 106% ( not much left ). I then proceeded to buy the N. Sane trilogy, and CTR Nitro Fueled. I know that feeling of nostalgia that you’re experiencing, but from a different game. On the wii, I would always play Lego Batman The Videogame and Lego Batman 2. Same thing with Mario on the N64 of my father. A long comment to say that I’ve started to watch your videos recently, and that you’re the one who makes me want to learn more about Cash Banooca. Much love and support from Spain.
Your experience with crash is pretty much everyones experience with sonic. Everyone who was there for the early games first time round loves them and still do. But as they went on they just got progressively shitter and more forgettable. In spite of that there's still nothing but nostalgic love for the earlier games. And bitter resentment that sega cant seem to get it right anymore. I sometimes forget just how young you are lol I was probably not far off the age you are now when I was enjoying the ps1 crash games in their heyday
I grew up with Sonic AND Crash in their heydays too, and I never felt "bitter resentment" for Sega. It was a shame the series started going downhill after Heroes (which I freaking loved despite its flaws), but although I kind of dropped the series for a time after Heroes, even back then, I felt fans were getting overly angry over games that seemed to merely be "meh" as opposed to downright terrible (With the exception of Sonic 06). I even liked Shadow the Hedgehog despite its flaws, to be honest.
12:00 That last card is obtained by connecting that game with the same game! Same goes for Spyro orange! In fact, If you want all the cards you will need a total of 4 games: 2 Spyro Oranges, and 2 Crash Purples!
Quality video! I have so many memories almost the same as you. I played the first three games backwards like you, and I played twinsanity at Christmas so much, it became a tradition that me and my sister would play it every year at Christmas. Felt weird to play it any other time tbh
I remember Gamestation. The old outlet in a nearby town still has the logo, but is now used to display stuff relating to the local rugby team. I miss the days of my childhood.
iain2k7 you watched lets plays, speedruns, top ten easter eggs etc. videos from internet in the 90s? Yes it was present at that time but not even near at the scale it is now. Internet wasnt part of daily life in the 90s
I think that the problem isn't that the internet spoils all of the secrets, I think that the problem is that games just have less secrets to discover nowadays. The only games that consistently have fun secrets to discover are metroidvanias and that's only because secrets are a staple of the genre.
Your original comment is worded to imply that there were no means of spoiling secrets back then, but in contrary were many guides and text-based walkthroughs that were easily accessible from any search engine. I think you should have said TH-cam instead, as all the elements you list in your follow up comment are primarily derived from TH-cam.
iain2k7 Yeah no main stream means of spoiling them. Literally no one used to search information about video games back then. Your argument is pretty blunt
The more I think about the idea of Crash month the more excited I get, I think it’s a great idea. Never really played Crash myself but this has made me want to try a few games!
Can you review the first 3 seasons of the original Thomas the Tank Engine? I think I’d be funny if you reviewed another children’s show. Particularly a good children’s show.
Brd14300 I was gonna suggest that but that's 5 seasons each with 26 5 to 6 minute episodes. Watching through 130 episodes for one video would be really tiring. Even for something as great as Thomas the Tank Engine
This makes me smile! I think Crash Bandicoot 2 was the first Crash game I ever played and none of the games after the original three + CTR captured the same charm for me. But the gameboy XS game came pretty close!
Also have a fun history with Crash. Either Crash 1, Spyro 1 or Pokemon Red was the first video game I ever played and regardless which one it was the Crash trilogy + CTR were some of my most played games before I got a PS2 and Ratchet and Clank and Kingdom Hearts took over my life. I also played Crash Bash and had fun with it and liked Nitro Kart and Tag Team Racing well enough but never touched the hand helds or the Titans/Mutants games. Excited for Crash month and can't wait for the CTR video in particular.
Twinsanity seems to be getting a lot of flack, but it was a really good game. I've even re-played it as an adult, and it still holds up if you're able to ignore all the bugs/glitches. I even remember several gaming sites bragging about the script being written by writers who previously worked on "The SImpsons", and it really shows.
NorskTegnefilmSang It’s a mixed bag; the fandom is pretty divided on it. You got people who hate it to bits, the people who could care less about it, and the people who genuinely think it’s a fantastic game. Personally I really love it, but I know it’s not flawless. It really could have been much more massive had it been finished. I hope it gets remastered.
It´s one of my favourite Crash games and no; the game is not perfect. I personally love it for it's unique style and character development in the series. I think it would've been amazing if it was finished, indeed.
Man this was so good! Like you Crash 3 was the first game i ever played (and June is also my birthday month wahhey!) so this video was a massive nostalgia trip for me through the bandicoot's history. Looking forward to the rest of the month!
Man, you're talking so much about how crash 3 introduced you to all these different things about video games while I sit here with my earliest gaming memory being driving backwards in diddy kong racing. Yeah, I don't think I *really* got to know video games until I played bomberman.
Interesting history, looking forward to the rest of the videos of Bandicoot Month! I think June is now a month that I'll give a bit of a damn about now because of it! Because Crash Bandicoot is a game franchise that also really got me into video games when I was very young, in fact one of my very earliest memories of playing games was Crash Bandicoot 2. I loved playing that game so much that it was the only game I ever finished 100% from my PS1 and PS2 collection.
Crash Warped was my first Crash game as well! My dad had to beat N. Gin and Cortex at the time, so going back a year or so ago and beating the game completely was satisfying to say the least
Crash Bandicoot 3 wasn’t my first game ever, but it was one of the first I got with my first ever proper gaming console, the PS1 1999. Man, I never realised how significant that was for my younger self. Not only was it one of the best at the time, but it also showed me how game completion works & demonstrated the many different games I’d be experiencing over the years (Racing, swimming, flying, etc.) I feel happier & prouder now having Crash 3 as my entry game into the world of gaming... 😊🧡
I don't really feel like watching this right now except to say that I misread the title in my subscription feed as just "history with crash bandicoot" and I think that'd make a good series
Funnily, Crash also was one of my first ever video games; albeit I started with the original and played the other two in order, and my other two first video games were Mario 64 and Sonic Compilation. In other words, I discovered puzle games, linear high-speed 2D platformers, linear precise 3D platformers AND collectathon 3D platformers all at the same time. And on all three sides of the "console war" to boot, which taught me from the get-go that the very idea of console wars is stupid when you're a consumer, and you should just buy and play what you love. Talk about an awesome introduction, I'm really grateful I started with these games!
Caddy's ambition nowadays is to put [OLD] in every single one of his videos and wants to have a version of Crash Bandicoot on MSX, just so that he can have an excuse to own a Sony Hit-Bit. :D
I have a similar thing where I believe the first game I ever played was a crash game. Crash Team Racing when I was also about four years old, in 2002. First ps2 game I'm certain I played was also Wrath of Cortex. An interesting note but a bit off topic, in Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec allows you to edit your memory card data. In the file operation it'll actually tell you the date your specific files were originally created. My WOC data dates back to 2003. When I was younger I could never get past that damn drain damage boss until years later. Just like you Caddy, Crash is what got me into gaming. Looking forward to more bandicoot month!
caddy, i am so happy for this bandicoot month. i love these games and crash as a character. it’s also cool knowing your birthday is a month before mine! exactly. im july 19th for my birthday lol
Anytime someone talks about the fond memories of playing video games with family members it always make me think of the people that say things like "memories aren't made playing video games, they're made playing outside". As if they would know, having never played video games themselves.
I remember getting Crash 1 from Blockbuster as a gift from my dad after I was bullied at school one kindergarten. I never completed it, but i got really fond memories of the first game, right up there with the Spyro trilogy.
i had the same thing for me when i was a kid, i had a NES and a genesis but gaming didn't really become my passion until i played the original Ape Escape, i just found the game so amazing and it made me want to play other games to see how good they can be and maybe even work in the business

I think there’s a typo in the title, man. Shouldn’t it be “Cash Banooca”?

And Please Remember To Stay Beautiful.
Nice to see this game get its own month. 200% deserved
That intro is going down as one of my favorites ever and I can't even describe why I love it so much! XD
it's June 2038, 20 years have passed. TH-cam is but a barren landscape, only one creator remains, rising from the ashes every year. It's Grandaddy Caddy and his Cash Banooca month.
I seem to be the only one who likes Wrath Of Cortex XD
Roly I didn't think it was that bad
There are some folks who like Cash Banooca: The Rath of Cuntex.
Roly ew. Its you.
Wrath of Cortex was my first Crash game, so naturally I loved it since I came to love everything Crash. You are not alone in enjoying that game. ^_^
I like it
7:22 That's basically how I discovered the Back to the Future series as a kid. I started with Part III, then Part II, and then Part I.
“THEY ACTUALLY LOCKED HIM IN A SHED WITH NO WHEELS AND LEFT HIM TO D I E.”
This is why I love sundays. Because I get a new caddicarus video to watch right before the week. Thank you!

Thomas the Tank Engine.
Bless you Caddy. Bless you and the whole merry month of June. My birthday is the day after yours (June 20).

That’s Smudger from the show on the Mid Sodor Railway
"We're gonna be here until your grandkids are dead." And we still won't have a Spyro the Dragon review.
I think after Bandicoot Month, you should review Rugrats: Studio Tour. :) I found the game so nostalgic. X3
Debatably better than Search for Reptar
Studio Cyoar ;)
And so he did!
Both Caddy was born and the PS1 was released in 1994, and they both made history.
I wish Caddi was my history class teacher xD
