I had a friend when I was much younger that built an engine just like that. His Dad's name was Jon Davies (spelling) who lived in Burlington Ontario. The amount of time he spent to build it and maintain it was great. Beautiful engine.
Are you using grains for your Britannia?, do you consider beans too large for the grate?
I play around trying different things, the fire is so thin I think grains give a denser fire, but maybe a few beans mixed in too.
