    *Try putting 25 drops of non-newtonian fluid (oobleck- corn starch & water 50/50) on the shot. We use this trick for Geese hunting and the shot starts spreading out normally after it's about 250/330 feet out from the barrel. We get geese out to about 750' away with this tweak. It also acts as a SLUG for shooting bear at 300 Feet or less. Shot stays in one giant lump from the initial shock. NOTE: when you make the oobleck use 20% bleach in the water so the corn starch does not start to rot.*

      @@357dayton *Non-Newtonian fluid (Oobleck) on your shot will give you 3X longer range but be warned if a Goose comes in too close you will blow it to pieces since the shot will be in one big mass!!! FOR LONG RANGE SHOTS ONLY! Yup! It really WORKS. It will cost you 2 bucks to try it out, what do you have to lose? Shoot a large paper target first so you can get an Idea of the spread pattern. Also make the 'Oobleck' with the exact same formula EACH-TIME or you get different results every-time. Just make sure you keep the gun powder DRY! I treat my shot about 2 minutes before shooting with a Syringe. If you want to make a batch of shells in advance you will need to open the shells and put the gun powder in a 2mil thick baggy heat-seal it and then reseal the shell after re-loading the shot with Oobleck. STORE and TRANSPORT THE SHELLS SHOT SIDE DOWN so the Oobleck does not run all over the primer for long term storage. Drip some hot wax over the stop of the shell to spot Oobleck from leaking out. I usually make them while I am reloading old shells. Good for those impossible 300 yard long shots LOL. Aim carefully! I use a green dot sight on the Weaver rail for these babies and it hits true and hard every-time! NOTE: Use in Semi-Auto shotguns only just in case you get a Oobleck barrel jam (I never had one yet). NOT FOR USE IN PUMP "gun powder" SHOTGUNS. TOO Dangerous, Over-Pressure danger with no way out!*

    Dude!!!I I am a shotgun loader been doing it all my life. I'm going to suggest something you might think it's weird but it will help your grouping stay closer together buy some sheep's wool and tear a patch off that will cover the back of the pellets you are using. The shock hitting your ammo all at once is throwing everything off a 1/4inch thick wad of sheep wool will cushion it enough that it will help your accuracy it can be cork or cardboard I like sheepswool and have better performance with it. Just try it load your projectile then the wool behind it close n shoot. The air from the gun is like the powder going off

The moderator is an issue, I think with how the blitz functions, it gets damaged over time. They recommend the DonnyFL Ronin and that you may need a new spring. I think the moderator puts excess tension on the spring and causes premature wear. Optics can get in the way just a fraction, it will not feed properly with the least amount of obstruction. If the mag touches the optic, its not going to work. Aside from that, I cant really think of much else. People run into leaks but thats pretty common, a gauge needs tightening, degas screw, etc.

    I'm really liking this air shotgun. I want it for home defense. I'm thinking maybe full auto with a 300 round drum would be good. Most crooks will haul ass once they hear you rack a conventional 12 guage. If a crook comes thru my front door, there is no racking on this air shotgun so, I'm thinking I'm going to have to switch to full auto and just get it on. No warning shot(s). The first full auto burst will be in his chest. If he's not down, he'll run. That's when he gets the balance of the 300 round drum in his back. Excellent review as always. Love your channel. Many questions come to mind about this as a home defense weapon. To me, first and foremost is the amount of time the cylinder would stay charged while the weapon is put away in the home and if leaving the cylinder charged is bad for the seals and components of the shotgun because you don't want it uncharged in an emergency when it takes 30 seconds or so to fill it. In a life of death scenario, 30 seconds can be a lifetime. If nothing else, it looks to be a fun thing to plink with at the range.

    • @toxicmatrix1337
      @toxicmatrix1337  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For these airguns, you want to leave them with air stored. You can have them topped off at max pressure, but I usually leave mine around 3000 to 4000psi. Pressure should hold, if it does drop over time, a leak is present and needs to be corrected. You'll get drop offs when you fill, heats generated from the fill, and you'll lose about 100-200 psi when it cools. Slower fills will help prevent the loss, when filling transfer tanks, some people put them in water to cool as its filled.

    • @laurenceperkins7468
      @laurenceperkins7468 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You do need to check on them since they do tend to run down slowly over the course of months. No seal is perfect after all, and valve designs to minimize leakage conflict with valve designs for rapid discharge.
      But they're designed to be stored charged since if the tank runs completely empty you'll get moisture and dust migrating in. Same reason you shouldn't run your propane tank all the way dry.
      Big thing for home defense is that they work on, at *most* 1/10th the pressure of a typical firearm. So you need a much larger package to get the same amount of power. That's... inconvenient. But still better than just a sharp stick.

    Maybe try firing a single slug, and see what sort of energy you get from 1 instead of 2-3.

    This is a great video. The 1st shots were, after all, bird shot and for hunting small game rabbit quail squirrel you dont want so much shot in them you can't eat them. So, with the bird shot shells, I would want an even larger pattern. I would never consider them for self - and home defense. I would like to see the rounds that would be used both in hunting larger game and defense shot into ballistic jell. At hunting and ranges, that would be more like home defense. Ignorance only lasts so long though. The one thing that is going to set things off, probably wont be a video, but rather a person using one in a crime. Theres one company that makes airgun moderators, "suppressors", essentially. Someone used one of their airgun parts on a firearm in a crime and the company was then raided by the ATF. These moderators are still not even classified as, "suppressors", by the ATF. That in itself is something to note. The states that want to classify these as firearms, cant. They send in the paperwork, but the feds cant process it as a firearm because it isnt a firearm. On the other hand though, if people are concerned these videos are going to cause an issue, my mentality is to get them into the hands of everyone who wants them before its restricted.

      The reason this didnt perform as well as it should have, was due to the rifled barrel. Im going to put the 72 cal smoothbore up against a 12ga at some point. This has more power than many shot loads, just needs to be setup properly. This thing sends a freight train of lead down range with the giant rounds, it hits harder than anything else I own, regardless of the ft/lb difference. The effect from the size of the projectile is like a plow.

      I do find that funny, especially since its Canada. Firearms can ship back to your home here, I sent one out for warranty work and it came back to me. Our C&R license allows purchase of 50+ year old guns to ship direct, but everything else is through a dealer FFL. Not all states require a license, but I have one. I should be allowed to order whatever I want, but that requires the dealer license, which also requires having a store.

      Its a modification
      This started as a 32 inch barrel, 72 cal slug Zeus. If you like the standard configuration, that can be grabbed at www.bluegrassbigbore.com - Free shipping if you use my promo code - Matrix
      www.texomaprecisionpellet.com does custom work, they sent out the new barrel. If you are looking to customize one or buy one customized, Texoma is the place. 100% heads up though is that this ammo is still being worked on. I am going to try to fine tune some things on my own as well as trying new rounds from Texoma.

      The Hatsan Blitz is all over the place for prices. Best sale is 650 but average is around 800 right now, off sale it could be 1000. You want to have these stored with at least a couple thousand PSI, they should hold no problem. If it doesnt maintain pressure, a seal needs to be replaced. The 72 cal smoothbore barrel is coming soon, Im looking forward to retrying this, hoping for much better patterns. The slugs through this are monsters.

      Thank you! I think if I get a new barrel and choke setup, the shot amount would probably be sufficent. Its hard to tell with how much spread it has. Initially, I thought the barrel was a smoothbore, but it ended up being rifled. The company that sent it makes a smoothbore kit for the 72 cal, thats probably the biggest issue with it at the moment.
