  • No one goes to college expecting to catch up on sleep, so it might not come as a surprise many college students don't sleep enough at night. In fact, one study found that about 70 percent of college students are lacking in this department. What might surprise you is the college major you choose may have a big impact on how much sleep you get. Here are some of the hardest degrees in college that are giving students sleepless nights.
As of today, there are hundreds, perhaps more than 250+ courses all together offered all around the world. Every student aspires to pursue a course that will shape their career. Yes, some courses are considered to be one of the most difficult courses in the world. A difficult course, as the name suggests, requires sheer hard work, willpower, and effort. The level of competition among students to get into these courses is high and requires preparation and commitment.
According to one review, among the most difficult are the “hard science” majors, as well as many of the engineering fields. Towards the middle are majors like journalism, philosophy, and public policy. At the very bottom, that is the easiest majors, we have majors like education, hospitality management, and counseling psychology.
The difficult courses in the world shouldn’t stop you from pursuing and applying for a course of your choice. We hope this video will give you an idea of how challenging the subjects you’re considering could be when studying them in higher education, helping you make a more informed decision about choosing the course that’s best for you!

It is... both have something easy and hard you can't either say that International business is easier because you have to be language master when your in IB. international business majors have to learn literally so many languages which is no joke from chinese to arabic, from spanish to french and so on it's not as easy as you are thinking. I have seen some IB curriculum they literally have to learn 6 to 10 different languages during their degree besides languages you have to be very passionate and consistent to learn other's cultures from around the globe. From learning Global Economics to International Finance etc.

I'd say the main issue for the inaccuracies is that this survey probably wasn't conducted using a standardised scale. Like... If I was a student doing Nursing, how would I rate my major in terms of difficulty? 1-10 scale? In comparison to (insert major), but if you're comparing, comparing it to what? Another major that I don't study?
Also, the data was retrieved from students... That's already super biased.
The struggling students will say its the hardest subject ever, the excelling students will say its the easiest, and the egotistical students will say their major is the hardest subject ever.

That would make sense. Med students require mcats and enter exams to study medicine while nursing students don’t so obviously med students would struggle less with course material because they were tested before admission. Problem with medschool is time management because they cram so much in each semester. There is just no time to take a breather. What I would give to go out on a friday night.
If you would ask me what the hardest part about medschool is, it’s that I study a lot but not that the course material is difficult.
While in nursing school, there is no entry exam or other forms of admission tests similar to medschool, so the exposure of the course material will probably be harder for them.

I don't think accounting is more difficult than electrical engineering, as somebody went to one the top schools in the United States I can tell you I've seen many people in electrical engineering breakdown and cry. I think we have to make the sciences more accessible, as a college student who is more mature I actually created support groups for humanity students that were trying to do a minor in a stem. I found out that if you do a minor in a stem then you can do independent work and then do a master's degree online in that stem field. In my opinion if doing a stem is too difficult at your University as a major, at least do it as a minor and then go for your Masters after you've studied it on your own long enough. Don't just give up on the stem Fields though, if it's killing you and you can't handle the major but you really love it, do a minor and then go for your masters. One of the great things about master degrees now is you can often do them online and there's more flexibility. Honestly I really support the hybrid model for college, waking up everyday and getting to lecture took so much energy that would have been better spent just studying on my own

Network Engineering is pretty damn difficult as most of the theory surrounding it is "magic in the air" Or learning about how different protocols born from signals sent through the air or wires transmit data to and through various devices across the world. It's practically required if you want to go into Cyber Security or become a hacker (of any sort of hat). The only real practical part to be seen is configuration of the machines, physical/cabling/patching maintenance of the devices and some scripting here and there (which are languages in and of themselves [i.e. Python, JavaScript, Bash, Powershell, etc]). It's essentially engineering the internet so that people can actually use the internet. The subjects within cover some parts of electrical engineering, math (obviously, though not to a great extent unless you mainly script/program), aspects of computer engineering and physics. Many things in the subject also strangely mirror the neural networks of the brain, which is vastly interesting.
Some of the things being worked on in the field are projects like trying to come up with entirely wireless networks as well as how the use of AI/Automation will affect the field and finally how Quantum computing will affect the field.

To be honest, it's all pretty subjective and open to error. For example, I don't know if I would agree with music being only second on the list. You have to have years of experience to even be able to get into a Music Performance major and when you do you get a chock-full schedule and have to constantly push to aquire skills most people could only dream of, not to mention the imposter's syndrome.
Also, spend one day in a music theory class. You would probably cry 😅

The difficulty of any study differs depending on the level of focus and understanding of the field in which someone specializes. If you don't have the ability, talent, and intellect to excel in the field, then the difficulty rises above what you understand and perceive. Analyzing the difficulty of any college degree applies to the daily use of real-life problems. Everything is hard as long as you don't have a broad understanding of the specified field in this video project. The difficulty somehow applied to the number of study, references and theories performed to a field. If there's a smaller number of professionals in a profession, the number of references affects the output of studies, which makes the field difficult to analyze.

In reality it is the opposite. I have to admit that my major is still nothing compared to geophysics. I have taken some dumbed down classes there. So hard.
