  • Today we take an amazing first ride on the Cape May Lewes Ferry. Not only do I believe it is great for passing from Cape May NJ to Lewes DE or the other way around, but if you just like boat rides they are great too. Round trip rides can be as low as $18 per person!

    Hearing those engines roar, means we're heading to the shore!

    I’ve been on that ferry once before. It was nice. It took a while to get on (was in the car) but we eventually got on and traveled across the bay that way

      Yeah I really like it, I may take it more often just to sit and do some work on my laptop whilst cruising through the bay. Quite relaxing really.

      I look forward to seeing your follow-up video of the interior of the Cape May location. My wife and I took a ride on the Cape May Lewes ferry on our honeymoon back in 1987. The next time we are in Cape may, we'd love to take the trip again.

      @@stevesears2425 honestly forgot all about the follow up video. I have a lot of travel videos/reviews on the works just had a slight issue I had to deal with first. I will have the follow up video sometime in the next week or so.

      I look forward to it. In November of 2021 we actually were in North Cape May in Towne Bank, and had I had no idea it was so close to the ferry.

      @@stevesears2425 it’s definitely an experience for sure, if you do go again I suggest if possible you ride in the morning as that is when the newly renovated ferry is in use. I’ve found after multiple trips that towards the evening the older ferry will be in service (which is still nice just not as modernized on the interior)

    Can you feel the ferry rocking or moving while you are on the water? Can you see land the whole time? I'm going on this ferry this month and have had a bad experience with boats so just wondering.

    • @HuffziYT
      @HuffziYT  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the most part no. Sometimes you can feel slight rocking but nothing too serious.
      Of course if you go after or right before a storm It would be very rocky but that’s all boats.
      Once you get about half way land seems distant on both sides but you’ll always see it from afar.
      What I suggest is if you are feeling a bit nervous or worrisome that you go on the second deck and sit on the bench outside.
      It can actually get quite peaceful hearing the boat/water and fresh air always helps.
      I’ve used this ferry roughly 30+ times and only had one bad experience when I decided to go across during a storm😂.
      You’ll enjoy it I’m sure, let me know how it goes. Cheers.

    FYI you can’t stay in your car for the duration of the ride for safety. Besides it’s nice to be on deck and watch for dolphins!!!

    • @HuffziYT
      @HuffziYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe it or not some people do. I’ve done it after a storm as the waves were rough and for some reason I thought camping in my car was a good idea. It may in fact be a rule but every time I’ve gone I’ve seen people stay but that could be because they returned to their vehicles and nobody checked.

      if you go on deck your less likely not to get sea sick stay in the center of the ship below that is what I was told when I went nice trip and very clean

    How much does this cost

    • @HuffziYT
      @HuffziYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      10 a person one way. 20 there and back if you are going without a vehicle. If you take a vehicle it usually is around $60 for the average vehicle one way and it includes all your passengers as well
