    Back about 35 years ago I was given an old Logan 920, manufactured some time in the early 40's. The old girl was in sad shape with most of what makes an Engine Lathe just that. She was missing all of the power feed and threading mechanisms. Even the carriage was a partial. So I decided I would resurrect the old girl as a wood lathe. It wasn't long before I realised that finding wood holding chucks and face plates for a 2-1/4" x 8TPI spindle wasn't going to happen. I would need adapters to mate commercial wood turning tooling to my 920. That's how I got interested in metal turning and metal shop.
    When I finally got my old South Bend H10 I knew that I didn't have the room for a mill so milling on the H10 was in my cards. That's why I love videos like this. You guys over in Asia have a " Can Do " philosophy! Much of the milling procedures that you use does not require a milling attachment, as most of the work is held in the tool post. This video is a prime example of ( thinking outside the box ) field expedience. Well done bro! Keep em com'n!!👍

    Particularmente, muito mais simples e rápido é preparar esse cabo na fresa. A não ser que não tenha essa máquina. De qualquer forma, deve-se serrar aproximado para facilitar e abreviar a confecção do cabo.

    A correctly brazed tip tool has a copper shim which acts as a shock absorber when the tool is in use. Also a soft flame as oxy is a bit severe.

      Probably because the lead edge wouldn't align with the workpiece since the hss (or might even be carbide) piece was soldered a bit crooked

      Are you referring to the milling sequence? If so I don't think off center run-out is going to matter much for that operation.

      The boring bar is held in a 3 jaw so it can’t be that far out. Looking closely at the shaft of the bar you can it running concentrically near the jaws but with great runout farther out. Thus it has to be the bar is bent.
