Fun Fact : Dave Mustaine never wanted to sing for megadeth. They tried to find people but no one was right for the music. Bassist David Ellifson told Dave he should try singing but he really didn’t want to. After he sang, the band thought it was good and that’s the story of how Dave became a singer !

Dave's an interesting singer, in that he never wanted to be a singer. But when he founded Megadeth (after getting fired from Metallica, where he was the lead guitarist), he couldn't find a singer he liked to front the band, so he just did it himself.
Dave's voice has improved a lot over the years as he learned to sing.

To be fair, his gravelly singing style from Endgame onward can also be considered an acquired taste by many. He can certainly hold a pitch better than he did in the early days, but the toll that age and many years of bad singing technique have taken on his vocal chords is painfully apparent. Honestly has me wondering if it was an exacerbating factor in his unfortunate contraction of throat cancer. Glad he's past that now and is forging toward another new album, which sounds like it's probably going to be amazing judging from some of Dave's livestreams.

The best thing Metallica ever did was kicking out Dave Mustaine - so he could clean up his act and bring us Megadeth. He's not my favorite singer but what he does and the way he does it works so well for Megadeth. Especially in metal it's the delivery that counts. And I think he'd shudder hearing you call Megadeth "pop music" *g* And Mustaine is a great guitarist. The things he plays while singing are pretty impressive. Oh, and when you want machine gun drumming, try Judas Priest - Painkiller.

You gotta remember that when comes to Dave Mustsine, he is famous for not just his amazing guitar skills, but his unique vocals. Though gritty sometimes, he also can be versatile and his style is very unique and fits in with the band quite well too.
Please keep listening to *MORE* Megadeth. She-wolf is but a TASTE of their awesomeness.
Megadeth is from Los Angeles, California. Guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson formed the band in 1983 shortly after Mustaine's dismissal from Metallica. Along with Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer, Megadeth is one of the "big four" of American thrash metal, responsible for its development and popularization. Their music features complex arrangements and fast rhythm sections, and lyrical themes of death, war, politics, and religion.
In 1985, Megadeth released its debut album, Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!, on the independent record label Combat Records, to moderate success. It caught the attention of bigger labels, which led to Megadeth signing with Capitol Records. Their first major-label album, Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?, was released in 1986 and influenced the underground metal scene. Substance abuse and personal disputes brought Megadeth negative publicity during this period.
After the lineup stabilized, Megadeth released a number of platinum-selling albums, including Rust in Peace (1990) and Countdown to Extinction (1992). These albums, along with worldwide tours, brought them public recognition. The band temporarily disbanded in 2002 when Mustaine suffered an arm injury and re-established in 2004 without bassist Ellefson, who had taken legal action against Mustaine. Ellefson settled out of court and rejoined in 2010. Megadeth has hosted its own music festival, Gigantour, several times since July 2005.
Megadeth has sold over 38 million records worldwide, earned platinum certification in the United States for five of its fifteen studio albums, and received twelve Grammy nominations. Megadeth won its first Grammy Award in 2017 for the song "Dystopia" in the Best Metal Performance category. The band's mascot, *Vic Rattlehead,* regularly appears on album artwork and live shows.
In short, these guys are amazing and worth listening too and they love connecting to their fans
