So weird that people back in the day put up with that type of treatment at work. Glad times have changed. People are Human and make mistakes, no one should be physically assaulted by a boss
Interesting thing about the Top Dolla one: According to him, he was typically able to do that move, but that day he wasn't, and that, combined with him just feeling off in general that day, compelled him to see the doctor, where he found out he had Type 2 Diabetes and a Blood Sugar of 626. He says he almost lost both of his feet and, possibly, his life, but that botch convinced him to see a doctor.
6:52 If you look closely, Sting didn’t perform the move correctly. He’s supposed to have both knees on Steve’s back, but because he did it wrong Steve had no momentum as he came up making the move look awkward.
After every insult I ever hear, I'm going to third party it and jump in, saying, "You better be quiet, or else you're going to start looking like Ellsworth."
5:09 LMFAO bro had us in the first half when he said John Cena made an actual appearance at TNA in 2018. I mean of course even if he wasn't there, he was still there, but we just couldn't see him.
Fight with shadow or no-contact shots have always been my favorite botches. For example, when one of the Hardy brothers realized too late that he had to sell and flew away from the other's dropkick as he fell into the ring and was getting up, lmao.
4:38 okay… like I’m *VERY* upset with myself… I rewinded the pin looking all over for John cena like 3 times… then I remembered the meme. You ain’t right for that.🤦🏾♂️💀😭
The worst botch for me is the one with Steiner and Christian and the fail spot with the stepladder in the side of the ring. When Cage hit his face against it by himself.
I remember a match in Mexico where a wrestler flew from third rope off the ring but the guy supposed to catch him moved away at the last momentand let him fall on the floor. The wrestlers improvised an ending while the guy was tended to, but one guy was livid and said to the camera "That's something you just dont do"
i remember reading Mick Foley's first book and he said he was excited as fuck to finally square off with Terry Funk, he said The Funker had great punches and he always wanted to know how to throw a mean punch too. Then they got into the match and BAM Terry went right into Foleys head with a mean fist and foley then wrote "thats when it hit me, this motherfucka wasnt working punches, he was just punching people the hardest he could"
I remember once on WCW Thunder (maybe Nitro), Jericho was supposedly locked out and he tried to pull the "locked" door open, which it did slightly only for Jericho to push his foot forward to stop it. Later on, Wrath chased him away and the cameraman was not supposed to follow around the production truck. But he did, and Jericho just casually stopped running while Wrath slowed down running past him slightly. WCW went to break but fans in the arena saw more with the two turning around casually walking back.
interestingly enough Dave Meltzer would award the match where Black Taurus stood around and waited for El Hijo del Vikingo to jump three times a 4.5 Star rating the same as Savage and Steamboat at WM3
Honestly when lucha dudes botch crazy rope stuff it makes wrestling feel more real for me. They do insane things that require lots of skill it makes sense that even at a high level they will mess up, especially further into a fight thats worn them down. If those matches were always 100% perfect it would look like an obvious stunt show. Botches were someone misses contact though make things look bad.
1:55 this is hindsight but I think Natalya should’ve let go of the tag rope, tag Charlotte in, and told the ref to call her out on the illegal tag 😅 edit: also have Natalya reach in for the tag with both hands to sell letting go of the rope
that seems impossible as refs are just props, they don't actually pay attention to every detail only the scripted/rehearsed ones. And there's also the possibility of Vince yelling in their ear for that improvisation
yeah scripted, but also fake, it aint like all the moves and hits they do connect with force in anyways or form, does some things hurt offcourse, but most hits do not connect or do not connect buy force, or they would nock out eachother often and fast.
@@Dark-Pikachu1 I did say that not all hits, offcourse some do hit, but not even they are totaly at full strenght, but enough to cause skin dmg thats for sure.
No it's fake. They wouldn't be able to do 99% of wrestling moves, without the other person helping. And they act likes moves hurt even when they don't. That clearly fulfills the definition of fake
AEW has had the most amount of botches for any wrestling company in it's first 5 years. They definitely deserve the attention, especially with re-doing a segment on a live show in front of a crowd, that was unforgivable.
