For those curious, many wrestlers have said that since taking over as locker room leader, Roman Reigns have changed a lot of the outdated rules backstage, and have made the atmosphere more welcoming for everyone.
My favourite is the story about Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes in some random airport bathroom. Randy says to Cody "Hey bro watch this" and proceeds to rip the sink off the wall for no reason.

From what I know of it the hand cuffs were to small to put them on him safely. My father had similar issues when he worked security. They have to be cuffed for their training and they had to order bigger cuffs for him. And I know that Andre had bigger wrists than him
That was cool of The Miz to do that for the writers. Most stories I hear about him behind the scenes involves him being one of the biggest babyfaces in real life.
As a heel, he went to one of those events for that current year’s SD game with one of the divas. People were disrespecting her so he defended her, as I understand it, still as a heel lol
I gained a whole new level of respect for The Miz after that story. He could have got into a lot of trouble with his peers (or even the office) for skipping the fancy dinner to hold his own one for the writers instead. I wonder if he's that kind to the other wrestlers and employees because of how much he was put through the ringer when he came in by people like Benoit who just viewed him as the 'reality TV guy' and didn't know that he really, genuinely wanted to be a pro wrestler.
Yeah I originally saw him on wwe and thought he really was like his character he played. Super arrogant and cocky and nose in the air type person, but then as I've seen more and more of him out of character and started hearing stories of him being kind and saw a documentary about his life story and saw he wasn't like that character irl, he's grown on me. He seems like a genuinely good dude
I hate how Miz was treated by Benoit & JBL when he started. Those two are why he got kicked out of the locker room. Also with Alandra Blaze, although Vince helped her out financially, he also asked for a “return of favour” which is why she exited like she did
@@hopeflorence6748 I feel the same about Benoit and JBL. After the Benoit incident all you heard was how good a guy he was, and how surprised people were that he did what he did. Nobody expects someone to do what he did, but it's not like he was some chill guy that didn't have anger and control issues. As for the Alundra Blaze story, I don't doubt that at all. Gatekeeping ice packs is crazy to me “Our career choice may be detrimental to the body, but you’re not allowed to ease your pain because you’re new here” As someone who lacks full mobility in their shoulder due to a high school wrestling injury I’m icing whatever the hell I want
The Bobby Lashley one is interesting because I remember hearing a different story about why he was released. At the time, he was dating Krystal, who was in that storyline with Teddy Long where they got married and Teddy had the heart attack during the ceremony. Krystal was released from her contract like 2 or 3 weeks after that. And the story was that Bobby didn’t appreciate how she was let go like that in the middle of a huge storyline and he complained about it. Apparently, either he asked for his release or he was fired (not sure which one). But the story about his Wrestlemania pay dispute really doesn’t make sense tbh. I think the story about him taking up for his girlfriend at the time makes more sense. Plus, he was inactive during the time he was released because he was going through an injury. And his release happened almost a whole year after Wrestlemania, so I find it hard to believe that Vince would wait that long to release him if was truly complaining about money.
I heard this about the ice pack but I could be wrong: the ice pack thing was because new wrestlers shouldnt use it as it will become a habit after everymatch and they should get used to the pain and let the body heal itself, which would make it easier for them to cope up with the pain in the long run.
Idk if you're wrong or not, but I thought they weren't supposed to use them because they were just new talent, and they weren't doing as much as the veterans there, same thing with the air plane seat thing
@@JMaChInE521that’s what I also think. It sounds like an old school type of rule amongst the locker room back when it was the Wild West. They don’t want the new guys being “soft”
I see what you mean, but it’s not actually like painkillers, an ice pack is something that they could use to help keep them healthy and have a longer career, like when football relax their muscles in an ice bath 🥶

@@mycodingchannel9690they weren’t saying he’s like them, that’s not how I took it at least, they were like saying you get a little messed up in the head when you’re abused like that
According to Dreamer, the story's been blown way out of proportion. He was never actually planning on doing it. It was just a thought that crossed his mind while he was at a really low point. It's something that I can relate to. You hit a really low moment in your life and start having really dark thoughts. Typically, they just remain thoughts. From the interview that I saw with Dreamer talking about it, that's all it really was for him too. The call from Jim Ross didn't change his mind on killing Heyman, because that was already a non-issue, but it did help get him out of the depressive state that he had been in, seeing as he'd gone broke trying to help keep ECW afloat and he couldn't trust Heyman anymore.
The ice pack thing is wild to me. “How long you been on the main roster.” “A few weeks.” “Fucking newbies…” “Get the fuck over yourself, I’ve been wrestling for nearly ten years before this point.” I mean, it’s just wild to me that they’d get on people for taking care of their bodies.
If there's a limited supply, doesn't it make sense that veterans should get first dibs? Especially considering their bodies probably break down quicker than the newer, younger guys
@@michael43567 yeah, but that wasn't specified to be the reason. IF that is that is the reason, then okay. However, I would then have to question why this multi-million dollar company doesn't enough ice packs to go around to all the talent that's going to be active that evening.
@@CasualVideoGamer but it's common sense. It's not crazy to think there's a set amount of ice packs. And I think there's more than one reason. Like others have said, I don't think it's a good look for a newbie to be iced up when they've only had a handful of matches. Their bodies must adapt to the soreness. Same idea as not giving a kid a band aid for every single cut or scratch they get.
@@michael43567 except most folks that get into WWE already spent years on the independent circuit. Very small handful of them go from off-the-street to WWE itself (though that number will no doubt grow). It's not like these people literally just had their third or fourth match. It's like telling an NFL player not to get a massage cause they've only played one game with the NFL - though spent several years playing in middle/high school and college. In my opinion, it's an idiotic sense of gatekeeping that honestly does more harm than good - especially when there's no reason this company couldn't afford to have enough ice packs for their roster. And if that IS the case that they can't, then they need to let go of the excess fat. If you can't take care of your talent, you don't need them.
@@CasualVideoGamer well yeah I mean the fresh meat. Guys like Seth Rollins who had an abundance of experience before wwe should be allowed ice packs. Yeah wwe should ideally have enough, but it's a business at the end of the day. They're gonna order the minimal amount possible. I don't think they view it as something essential

The idea of a wrestler having to quit the WWE because they weren't paid enough to work for them, has got to be one of the stupidest, most irresponsible things of the WWE, ever. If they can't even afford the cost of their own travel and to maintain a decent lifestyle, then a company like that must be trash.
Some context that the video doesn't mention is that she was already fired from the WWF when that happened, in fact her and multiple talent were let go due to financial problems, but I believe it was mostly female wrestlers, the fact that after this there was no women's championship for several years might give you and idea of how much the company cared about the female wrestlers division (and we know how they treated them in years later) also funny how they fired a champion but kept paying HBK for doing nothing. so the trashcan thing might have been less personal. still rude tho.
"A WWE wrestler was going to kill Paul Heyman on live TV..." Me: 🤔🤔Someone would want to beat him up for real, yeah sure but kill? 😮😮 Next line: Tommy Dreamer....... Me: Understandable! 😆😆😆😆
"Your seat is better. Give me your seat!" "You going to pay me for the difference?" "No." "Then piss off." "You're the new guy. You have to give me your seat!" "Where's the law that says I have to? Last time I checked, I paid for this seat for myself. Not for you." "It's tradition for the new guys to give up their seats to the veteran talent." "It's tradition. Not a law. I don't have to follow it. Besides, tradition is just peer pressure from the dead."
For those saying the ice packs rule is dumb, it's because your body has to get used to small injuries like that and you shouldn't train your body to depend on ice
12:28 well, according to Chris Masters during his interview with Chris Van Vliet, he said Stevie Richards was enraged and there was no conversation. So, yeah... I think I'll believe the guy who's part of it.
8:59 Regal would pay homage to that flight incident in a WWEvskit (I believe GTV) involving The Big Show when he was doing his business, and ended up doing so on The Big Show after a distraction or something
Gotta love how Shawn Michaels' back was too injured for him to work between 98-02, even though he was running a wrestling school, but as soon as that contract ran out he was amazingly healed and ready to go again... funny how that works lol
That Tommy Dreamer story is wild. Could you imagine if Dreamer actually succeeded in those plans at WrestleMania 17? One of the greatest WrestleMania's ever could have been the darkest and unfinished event ever
No ice-packs if you're new? Nah im good. I'll do what i want. Do you know my medical history? In fact better yet, stopping me from taking care of myself whether i have a medical history or not? That's crossing the line into beyond fists.
we're missing some context here I think. like was the guy staring for a while? or did he momentarily look over for a bit and Mark walked in? either way you don't just grab dudes. Mark walks up to you an tells you you're making someone uncomfortable, nine out of ten people are going to stop with Mark ever touching them.
I had the honor if of interviewing Chris Masters in 2008 on my podcast. He told me he also had a bad case of food poisoning the day of his match with Stevie Richard, which would make that match even more pressured.
Respect to the Sandman for getting fit again so quickly and being able to take part in the event. I had an overdose myself 3 times (2 x fentanyl and 1 x morphine) and afterwards I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I'm lucky that, apart from a few consequential damages (e.g. severe nerve pain, difficulty concentrating, difficulty finding words, problems with my short-term memory, etc.), I got through everything okay. Luckily, my kidneys have recovered from the acute kidney failure and rhabdomyolysis, so I don't need dialysis and the muscle edema has also completely healed. I can also walk again, something I wasn't quite able to do, especially with the second and third overdoses. Danielson is still a well known name in the business today, whereas Ezekial is merely known as a footnote in WWE history, and one of the many "monster big guys" that WWE tried to push as a big deal, but failed like so many others.
Lmao regal turned his whole body around and not just his head lmao 🤣 was he drunk
6 years old me can relate! aahahh
Just like in comedy movies and tv show.
Wouldn't be surprising, given he is on record revealing problems faced with alcoholism, when he was younger
He’d taken a few pain killers pills earlier on the flight.
Knowing now what Vince has done, it makes sense why Medusa went out the way she did. Im sure Vince didn't pay off her dept out of the kindness of his heart without asking fot a few "favors."
My thoughts exactly
Probably wanted her to get the toilet on him or whatever it is he’s into.
Well damn, I’m glad I didn’t have to pay $100 to meet and talk to Lesnar at a restaurant me and my dad were at when I was a kid! Sad that his security team didn’t let him get a picture.
Dude was probably being weird. Volunteering a $100 dollar breakfast in exchange for an autograph then waiting?

Gatekeeping ice packs is crazy to me
“Our career choice may be detrimental to the body, but you’re not allowed to ease your pain because you’re new here”
As someone who lacks full mobility in their shoulder due to a high school wrestling injury I’m icing whatever the hell I want
I just thought it was because there weren’t enough ice packs to go around and the new talents aren’t suppose to use them in case the veterans need one
still don't make sense when a lot of these people have wrestled longer than many on the roster ever have and in environments less concerned for safety.
Who is someone to say I cant use an icepack because I only wrestled for a short time 😂
Maybe it gives a *soft wrestler* vibe

Ummmm…are we just gonna speed past Tommy Dreamer contemplating a murder-suicide live in front of like 70,000 people?? What the fuck!?
In the Zeitgeist of pro wrestling. That's just another Tuesday.
The Mark Henry segment was the best of the video 💪🏽
The ice pack thing is wild to me.
“How long you been on the main roster.”
“A few weeks.”
“Fucking newbies…”
“Get the fuck over yourself, I’ve been wrestling for nearly ten years before this point.”
I mean, it’s just wild to me that they’d get on people for taking care of their bodies.
Ezekiel Jackson HUH???
Bruh, what a way to kill your potential push... Thank god for Regal being there.
18:42 Lets be honest, it was a good choice by Cena to not drop the belt to Swagger lmao

The idea of a wrestler having to quit the WWE because they weren't paid enough to work for them, has got to be one of the stupidest, most irresponsible things of the WWE, ever. If they can't even afford the cost of their own travel and to maintain a decent lifestyle, then a company like that must be trash.

Vince: *Gives Alundra Blaze $80000*
Alundra: *Throws Women's title in trash*
Some people are so ungrateful.
With all new knowledge about Vince, u sure that's a full story?:)

I walked very short distances but had to hold on, but for long/longer distances I had to rely on a wheelchair.
So I definitely wouldn't have been able to go back to work on the same day. I'm working in elderly care. So it's really unbelievable that the Sandman went back to his job on the same day, which isn't the easiest, huge respect.
