As a bike commuter, I love bike mirrors. Sometimes you're flying down a hill dodging pot holes and want to know what's behind you without having to do a shoulder check. They don't replace shoulder checks, but are great for checking behind more frequently. You can also turn your head to check blinds pots while driving, but every car still comes with mirrors.
you should have left each thing on and let it get more and more ridiculous the long stem with the folding bars and the floppy mud guard would have been THE DREAM.
I find it VERY interesting that both Seth(King of Berm Peak) and Sam have tried handlebar extenders and LIKED them!! Maybe there's something to this mod? It makes it look like dirtbike geometry in a way.
@@Hunter_Bidens_Crackpipe_ Well, I may be wrong, but bmb one is made by an engineer to use it himself amd ended up selling it, this 20$ one is made by a company to make money of it
I thought the same thing lol like do they know that the legendary sam pilgrim is literally right beside them? Seems like a super awesome, nice guy but i think id be nervous to say anything to him haha too cool for me
Every team on the planet needs someone like Sam. From sports teams to engineering teams, the contagious positive spirit he brings to every episode would inspire people around the globe to do incredible things. There's a lot of negative people getting around these days and we need more Sams to set them straight!
I think it's cool for them kids at the park. Imagine chillin with your friends and suddenly through the fog you see a silhouette. Out from the fog comes Sam Pilgrim with one of his MTB's!!! Everyone shits their pants and watches a free show😂
Sunday afternoons are always a bleak affair as Monday looms on the horizon. Then, along comes Sam with another brilliant vid. Not only are these videos of the highest quality, they're also plentiful. Don't you ever stop Sam!
The energy drink flying out on the stairs in slow mo was epic. Also loved how excited you were for the helmet speaker. Very cool selection of products. That said the folding handlebars looked super sketch with those sharp metal pieces sticking up past the bar. Also the mirror seems useless on a nice day but what about when you've got your rain shell on with the hood up. Little harder to turn your head completely around at that point.
I've had a mirror on my bike for decades and it's brilliant. I wouldn't feel safe riding on the road without it now. It's nice and sturdy (it screws into the bar-end and it's never, ever come off) and is on a little friction flip thing that lets you fold it back if you need to go through a thin gap, and stops you getting thrown sideways if you bang it on something.
For me the rear view mirror is a must, I have one on my road bike since a few months ago and no more looking back to see if there are cars coming or you've left the rest of the group behind. It's much cheaper and more useful than the Garmin Varia which I have too.
yeah but berm peak spent 300+ dollars and had to make long boring dedicated video about it and sam just spent 15 quid for the same thing, and reached his conclusion in 20 seconds
the mirrors are mainly good for road bikes cause you're usually on the road and you need to check behind your back but not twist your head cause even a pebble can make you fall off the bike sometimes :D the lock itself is quite good but they're easy to break on the links with a normal flat head screw driver and i just love the fact that you still keep the OG NS Bikes stems around :) i always wanted one but never had a chance to find one in a brand new condition
Forgot about the Stem Riser which is mainly for tall people that don't want to buy a bigger bike or they can't find one so with that they ride a smaller bike and get a long seat post as well 🙂
@MyFaithShines true but from personal experience and what I've seen around me and I can say that your point is great but there's people that mainly use it for what I've said
I'm 6'2" (189 cm) and I put handle bar extenders on all my bikes. I was a brick mason and concrete finisher for 25 years. Leaning over to reach the handle bars quickly reminds me why I found a different way of life.
Those wheel lights could be very nice for city riding where the'd probably stand out from all of the other background lights and clearly indicate a bicycle wheel .
The mirror is very nice for road riding, you don’t have to turn your head and put yourself out of balance. Although the real kinky looking one about to your helmet and that one works really well! As far as the stem extender, a dude is selling a RR stem for downhill purposes. You should give that one a go!
today was epic, I did ride with my roadbike to a destillery and back, it was 250km of cycling. I did bring some samples with me, now I sit and relax and got even a new video by you, what a epic day
That’s so cool I use my JBL hookon speaker I attach to my handlebars when I ride. Nu Metal makes me ride harder and faster, Limp Bizkits Break Stuff makes me go for the big air tail grabs.
"If they break then you'll chestie .... well its just not worth thinking about" fucking brilliant. It pains me how absolutely effortlessly Sam does all this stuff. I picked up a MB in 2021 after not riding for ... a lot of years and I was so hyped as had watched Sam for months. Immediately popped a massive wheelie down my street, realised I can't actually wheelie and fell into a neighbours fence and I'm pretty sure I broke the panel too. Such an idiot!
Mirrors are useful for roadies like me, allows you to see what kind of car is going to kill you just before it ploughs into you! Zefal one is good if you are wanting one.
Bar extension has sense if you have fcked up back like mine. I can't run in low position for a long time so it is more comfortable with extension. Back mirror is also helpful for me (same reason) ;)
I'm actually intrigued by the folding bars. The riser is essentially the same as swapping to a BMX stem + bars, with less adjustability and strength and while the duck may be stupid, it's extremely cute according to my wife who has one wearing a watermelon helmet on her bike. So there.
I used a stem extension because I suffer with lower back pain. I have since swapped to BMX riser bars. But you could also use a surly sunrise bar or similar.
I have just mounted the stem extender on my 29" MTB. And I absolutely love it, because it helps my bad back after an injury. But i did cut some of the forkstem off, so it doesn't get to high.

that stem extenders actually kinda aninteresting ide, berm peak just made a video about a downhill racer that sells his own version, would have liked more deets on the rubber ducky tho, HE HAD A HAT!!! thats just amazing
Riding in rain or winter or anytime really bundled up, you have to twist REALLY hard and far to see behind you. Mirrors can give you go heads up. If in traffic will still look as my last thing before a move, but mirrors help size things up. Same thing on a motorcycle, especially with full face helmet I shoulder check in a car but mirrors keep you aware of your surroundings.
Berm Peak just did a video on a 0mm super tall stem (reminiscent of your steerer extender) and said there were some merits to it. The designer was winning races with it, multiple seconds faster than the other competitors. Maybe there's something in having a tall handlebar setup, but it's hard to say.
