Remember, he was also the only voice opposing who opposed continuously the world's greatest lie and thirdclass movement called Telangana movement for separate state. He is always being introduced as FM's husband which is not good but seems to convey conflict in the household of FM. His home life is nobody's business and not related to his views. Should be avoided in the introduction.

Democracy is nothing but a harmonious functioning of various institutions, the positive pressure and the checks and balances amongst them. This beautiful balancing has been badly shattered during the current dispensation. Institutions are either being checked or checkmated or cowed down to spineless obeisance and subjugation. Election Commission, a Constitutional body, is no exception and thus our very Constitution is jeopardized.

Mr. Parakala is certainly a man with a conscience. His personal moral caliber is very high. He has my respect!
But he tends to transpose these high moral expectations onto the nation.
His constant reminder to us to ' punish' this government betrays a strong anti BJP - anti Modi sentiment, which is certain to blind him to this government's many successes, real or perceived.
You cannot be in power for 10 years and not do something right by the people of India, even if these are only scattered sections.
When did our country ever solve the problems of hunger, employment, rising prices or rural distress that Parakala sir points out and puts at the feet of the BJP ?
These problems have been with us from independence. Every government addresses them in their own ways, effecting some incremental changes along the way, but never fully succeeding. That's how complex and fraught these issues really are.
In the BJP 's defense one can say they inherited 50 odd years of political miscalculations and misadventures from previous dispensations.
Give them some more time to fix these issues, again if only incrementally. What more can we expect from a country that is as large, diverse and complex as India ?
I am not a typical Indian voter, meaning I'm apolitical, educated and employed.
I stand neither for nor against the BJP. Watching them closely these past years, I feel they are a necessary ( if not welcome) presence in Indian politics, because ( for the first time after independence) , a political party has given us pause for deep thought with its agenda and actions. If these are for better or for worse only time will tell. And this to me is the sign of a healthy democracy.
While I grant that the institution of democracy will witness some wear and tear under the BJP (depending on who does the defining of democracy) , I do not for a moment fear the coming of a dictatorship. There is something in the soul of India that will not permit such a phenomenon.
And really , is there a viable alternative in Indian politics right now? Let's see what surprises the month of June brings us ~

His wife is employee of government and public figure. Her photo is quite reasonable to use. India is a democratic country. India is not a special case which dropped from heaven. All democratic countries have similar regulations for government employees and public figures.
