When it comes to Paul, I think there is still reason to doubt he killed Christians before his conversion. In the writings that are generally accepted amongst scholars as authentic, he only mentions persecution and the word choice doesn’t imply killing. The idea of him killing Christians seems to originate in the works of the author of Luke/Acts.
